Wuhan Coronavirus: Megathread - Got too big

Well, I guess that's the part that's confusing me. About a month in, we have 70% of our cases resolved, and 98% of those cleared the virus which is much higher than the stats being provided by NGOs and stuff. When the John Hopkins map was reporting recoveries, we had over 100 recoveries here and they weren't listed, so I kind of suspect there are a lot more than 739,725 people recovered worldwide right now and recoveries are being under reported by the sites collecting data like Worldometers and John Hopkins .

It's also worth noting that my province has extremely high obesity and diabetes rates, so lol America fat is not an explanation. We have a 34% obesity rate to America's 40%.

Part of it is that the recoveries aren't being reported as quickly or accurately. The article is from a week ago, but it seems to suggest where part of the problem is:

While Johns Hopkins tracks case counts and death tolls reported by each county and region across the globe, data on recoveries is less precise. Many counties, states, territories, and regions don't report how many of their residents have recovered.

Now, I don't know if other groups reporting it suffer from the same problem as Johns Hopkins, I suspect they would.

So can confirm that the housing/rental market is chaos right now. I helped sell my folks old place back at the end of January and they dodged a fucking bullet like you wouldn't believe. The realtor we used is practically begging us to refer any friends and family. Home buying has cratered and the people that do show up are scoffing at city places. (Most want rural now.)

I'm really intrested to see what is going to happen to rental prices. They have been skyrocketing for the last decade and have needed a correction for awhile now.

A little OT, but I'm literally sitting right now, Happy Merchant style, waiting for that correction to finally hit, so I can scoop up a two family at a somewhat reasonable price.

It's mostly the older folks keeling over. Like everywhere else. My landlord is a Hasid and he lit a fire under the lazy super so that he cleans the building everyday and disinfects common areas.

Much like China, NYC has horrid air quality and environmental issues (I had to buy air purifers for the apartment). That might be enough to push people over the coronavirus edge. And as a native Californian I was absolutely shocked at the bad eating habits here, fresh food is not on menu and expense is not the main cause, it's habit so there's that. I used to buy from a patisserie because I loved their custard and the owner told me he uses real cream, eggs and sugar and most places do not. I was genuinely shocked. Years of bad food and chemicals can't be good for you and if you have a bunch of other diseases, well, even a mild flu can kill you.

I suspect there is a particular factor that causes severe illness/death that we don't know about yet. Some trigger that sets it off. Maybe if the chinks had been upfront about it from the beginning we'd be near a vaccine/therapy for it, it's going to take months to years to figure it out.
It's mainly because the ortho jews are unhygienic leaches who took too long to learn to distance themselves, not to mention their inbred genetics and weak immune systems.

So I saw that #FloridaMorons was trending on twitter so I looked to see wtf Florida was doing that was so bad that people noticed.
It seems to be mostly about the beaches reopening, a move that will surely lead to certain death for all, right? Can't have any fun since Corona Chan thrives on it. Then I went to the You of Tubes and looked at beach livecams. No people on the beach, but there were a few more boats on the water than last week. When can we expect mass casualties?
Call me autistic, but I've noticed reaction to the CommieFlu is directly proportional to how much of a SJW/Communist you are. We literally have a cheap magic bullet thanks to data from that one French doctor/several doctors in NY and LA, and the DemonCrap's reaction is "Stop curing yourselves, guys!"

This whole thing is basically the Great Ukrainian Famine, except with medicine. For a quick refresher, the Soviets raided Ukraine's seed corn stock while at the same time demanding that they meet their harvest quotas, and plundered anyone who had "too much" grain (accusing them of hoarding). Millions died and the fucking New York Times celebrated the Soviet Union as a bright new future.

Also another dataset proving Churchill right about how socialism equally distributes misery.

108,692 Positive (+5,599)

14,579 Dead (+891)

Looks like the plateau is back off, probably from dozy bastards breaking lockdown...

I dunno if we can conclude that the plateau is off. It could just be noise in the data.

It's mainly because the ortho Trump's Chosen People are unhygienic leaches who took too long to learn to distance themselves, not to mention their inbred genetics and weak immune systems.
It's blacks, whites and hispanics dying in NYC, in that order. Even if the Hasids are lumped in with whites they're still a small fraction of deaths. I get you have a hate boner for der Juden but indulging in magical thinking is re.tarded.

I haven't seen any articles on it in awhile, but right before this started to hit the west there were some epidemiologists talking about how "soft lockdowns" work better than really strict ones because people will put up with them longer. Sure, we could weld people in their houses, but that won't last and they'll rebel and not put up with any measures.

I am not sure if it will work out, but my state seems to be aiming towards more strategic measures as we start passing the current peak and I think that will work out better.

Most people here seem ok with some kind of measures but they still want to be able to go back to work as soon as they can. They're worried about feeding their families or losing their house, I get mad when I see them treated as ghouls who want everyone to die because they're worried about that.

I have seen a couple people around here who want to completely reopen NOW NOW NOW, but if we do that in this county our hospitals will collapse, it has to be more gradual and strategic. People keep saying "well we're not NYC, it doesn't make sense here" which I think is a little bit of denial, we're an NYC suburb, we're very much in their circle of doom, per capita, we're really not far behind them at all.

Honestly near the begining I'd've said soft lockdowns were better. As I said back then expert's plan was to start closing mass gatherings early then build their way depending on how shit went down. But in a way I'm starting to think our government going from "no need to close lol" to "CLOSE DOWN EVERYTHING" might've been accidentally beneficial. Compared with other countries we have substantially less bitching and moaning about the fucking lockdown, with the bitching being made mostly as jokes, and it seems the economic situation has kept people focused, with them asking about kids being let out (which the gov seems to indicate will happen basically next time they reunite) and reopening of that last part of the economy, the paint and hardware stores (which the gov seems to keep ignoring, for some unexplainable fucking reason. Did a god damned purple fridge kill the president's family? Why so much hatred at that shit?) I'd say seeing the situation going down so hardcore has kept people from letting their inner idiot takeover... I mean excep Vox but fuck that's an acceptable loss I guess. I've literally never seen people as united and focused as they are now. And also it seems going full lockdown that quickly has kept most of our politicians' inner petty tyrant in check, only the PP was asking for more lockdown and as soon as they got it they wanted out with Ayuso being the only full blown megalomaniac, and even that bitch's now under control. Seems even the most fascistic fucks realized how much this hurts as soon as they saw how the economy affected. If anyone tried going full Democrat/Aussie/British talking about the "new normal" and lobbying for permalockdowns they'd probably wind up murdered. Once you get a taste of the real deal, you realize it's some foul shit dude.

Hahahahahahaha. If you think just 'cause the recession hits it means you'll afford a home. Spain's got bad news for ya buddy! You're gonna live with your ancestors for a few generations if shit goes down this path.

I forgot to give spanish numbers, so, ICUs and Hospitals are still on their slow downtrend which is good but we have had 1 big outbreak on 1 community (I don't know which, haven't found out yet) and that's throwing numbers for a loop. And it's also worrying, controling outbreaks is the most important part now. We also got 560 or so deaths. Which is a bit more than yesterday and puts is square in the 500 plateau again after yesterday it seemed we were about to get to the 400s finally. So that sucks, but most seem to have stopped giving a shit altogether. We need jobs and we need them now, that's all most people seem to be paying attention to, with small biz promotion and creation campaigns getting traction quick and we even have some mofos trying to get boomers to learn to code so they can help the family, fucking hilarious. It's funny really. I thought the UBI would get people to be lazier but they seem more motivated than ever. I guess they figured as fast as I did that that shit's gonna destroy the economy if they don't work to keep the country afloat hard now. Everyone can eat, good, let's keep it that way, resting won't get us there. Fuck the god damned radical lefties might've been right all along and UBIs just magically get people to understand keeping the economy afloat is vital now. Not gonna rest till I know for sure though. We got work to do. A lot of work. And in my case I have way too much to study now... fml.

I dunno if we can conclude that the plateau is off. It could just be noise in the data.

I wouldn't interpret the new cases too harshly, they clearly weren't getting everyone else they would've fucking quarantined that shit. I'd say most important numbers are hospitalizations and ICU admissions that's what tells you how well it's going. Well that and deaths. 800 a day for the whole time you're platoing is a god damned tragedy. But I guess it could be worse. You could get a 5000 corpses backlog someone forgot to report one day and still be so jaded that people don't even give a fuck anymore.

UK Daily 18th April:

460,437 Tested (+21,389)

114,217 Positive (+5,526)

15,464 Dead (+888 )

Hey, that reminds me. In Campbell's last video he mentioned the UK criteria for ending lockdown are when there's been a sustained and consistent fall in daily death numbers.

https://archive.vn/wip/SQOAx

He lists five points that will influence the Government's decision:
  • Making sure the NHS can cope
  • Evidence showing a sustained and consistent fall in daily death rates
  • Reliable data showing the rate of infection is decreasing to manageable levels
  • Being confident in the range of operational challenges, like ensuring testing and the right amount of PPE, are in hand
  • Being confident any adjustments will not risk a second peak
The UK is already arriving at the point where daily deaths are beginning to fall, however there is still some way to go until the rest of the criteria are met.

The reorientation of the NHS towards handling the COVID-19 outbreak means the health service is currently coping.

Mr Raab said there were still "issues with the virus spreading in some hospitals and in care homes".

He added: "The very clear advice we received is that any change to our social distancing measures now would risk a significant increase in the spread of the virus.

"That would threaten a second peak of the virus and substantially increase the number of deaths.

"It would undo the progress we have made to date and as a result would require an even longer period of the more restrictive social distancing measures."

I reckon three more weeks and then they'll start to reverse a few token things. He was covered as having snapped at Kuensberg but he actually didn't. He should have done though - the media nagged and nagged until the government did the lockdown and now they're nagging and nagging for a date it will be lifted. Even if, looking at the data, that's basically impossible. You'll know what date daily death numbers have been consistently falling after it happens. It's impossible to predict when that will be.

It sounds like there is much more goodwill towards fellow countrymen in Spain, the U.S. has a huge problem with animosity between different regions. People are taking a lot of glee in the suffering of their fellow Americans here, we're very divided. This isn't something new, but this pandemic is bringing it to a head in a lot of ugly ways.

It's pretty demoralizing honestly.

It's a good thing. The average american can now see how ghoulish and inhuman the urban democrat actually is.

Years of bad food and chemicals can't be good for you and if you have a bunch of other diseases, well, even a mild flu can kill you.

This is all true. The bad air quality in NYC causes higher rates of asthma, bronchitis, and other breathing issues throughout life. They're actually studying how much the environment directly causes asthma in children. I have asthma, and in NYC it was the worst it has ever been. I got sick at least once a year. Never had it happen anywhere else in the US, and I've lived all over. I didn't even consider the food deserts, but yeah, most people survive off fast food or what is available at the bodegas (example: the produce section consist of 10 bananas, a handful of apples, and a single potato).

I bet the homeless population had a hand in spreading coronavirus wider than in other cities. The population of homeless is absurd in NYC, and they are very anti-social and basically form their own societies. Not to mention NYC is the only place I've seen biblical levels of poverty within the US. I've seen an man stumbling down the sidewalk of downtown Manhattan with no shoes, no socks, no shirt, and basically a towel wrapped around his waist. No one blinked twice as he ran into them and coughed all over. No wonder everyone is sick there.

Protests are breaking out all over.

Protesters across the country have been gathering under the banner of "You Have to Disobey," to voice their opposition to statewide stay-home orders. Now, those protests are on their way to the state capitols in Washington and Idaho.

Protesters will be heading for Boise on Friday, April 17, and to Olympia on Sunday, April 19.

A group of more than 100 protesters converged on Huntington Beach on Friday in a demonstration against California’s coronavirus stay-at-home rules, part of a series of national demonstrations organized by conservative groups.

The protesters — some with Trump banners and American flags — mostly were not wearing masks or practicing social distancing by standing at least six feet apart. And they offered views about the spread of the coronavirus that differed sharply from scientific findings and experts’ recommendations.

Also fuck LA Times. They're trying to convince people to stay inside until 2022. Absolute lunacy.

News from the Polish academia - apparently scientists came up with an innovative mask. Apologies for the weird source - this is the only mention of this I could find in English. It is touted in the Polish mediasphere though, so could be real. Archive
We are also seeing the come back of national production - according to the government Polish sewing shops are going to make 100 million protective masks out of locally sourced materials and export some of them to other EU countries. Archive
Ruling party is also doing their damnedest best to rig the upcoming presidential elections, but that's beside the point...

I can find nothing about the mask, at least not in english. But going from theory: mask ain't that innovative, and that's a good thing.

The concept of the mask is just to add a biofilm to a regular mask. The entire basis behind the filter is just a regular biofilms like the ones we use in water treatment and pollution control all the fucking time. The reason this is a good thing is because we know a lot about how that works. It's certainly no crazy pseudoscience.

Could it work? Probably. It's not gonna get 100% that's literally impossible but it could probably be some of the best 99.9%thing we could get. And if the biofilm is done right it could be very reusable with appropiate maintenance. Basically the film cleans the masks for you.

I would however need more info and I found none. And the link doesn't explain much honestly. If I were to find possible issues I'd say breatjing through a biofilm might not be the best idea overall due to possible side effects, but maybe there's none, I don't know 'cause I can't find shit. The polish mohammed feller certainly exists and seems to be a solid researcher, so I have no issues there. We'll see.

Biggest issue I see is simply that regular masks work well enough so while long term this could be great short term it's just a very expensive mask, so you know it's certainly not the second coming of JC but its good. If it actually works of course. We'll see.

As for ellection rigging that sounds weird to me. I mean, we're no strangers to that over here, but you Pols did pretty well overall I don't see the need to rig shit. Have they really been that bad before the pandemic?

There was a similar finding in the Netherlands. 3% of all blood donors had antibodies. 3% of their population is over half a million, so with their death count at 3459, mortality rate would be well below 1%... But of course that's the known death count, we have no idea how many people had it and died before they started connecting the dots. And 3% of all blood donors doesn't translate directly to 3% of the total population, since the sample is mostly just healthy young-to-middle-aged city folk. Tells us nothing about children or old people, for one.

Bhutan of all of them seems to have the best perspectives (unless all the people working in India come back) with many isolated communities and bringing in a huge amount of tests. Currently, most infected Bhutanese seem to be in the US (14 cases, 10 in NY).
As for other Asian countries, Vietnam seems to be doing ok. (archive) Indonesia is probably fucked (archive) and the Philippines don't look that good. (archive)

I wonder how long before Ex-Mickey D's worker turn YouTube Star starts memory holding this video now that Trump said the virus may have been bioengineering. It be a shame if his video wasn't archived in time...

Also, before anyone asks? Yes, Trump said the same thing when asked from interviews about if said virus is man-made and he confirmed it himself that it may have come from Wuhan Labs. So I guess that makes him as crazy as Alex Jones going by Myles Power logic.

Also, Trump supports people who want to go outside without staying at home. So I guess left-wing media will think Trump is like Hitler x9000!

You didn't get the memmo? It ain't just spain. They released a fucking document with demands for countries in the EU to be allowed to lift lockdown. And literally everyone, even germany, is using it as toilet paper. It's fucking gold.

Here's an article in english, not as detailed as the breakdown I saw in spanish but, you know, it's in english:
Basically EU bodies wanted to literally take control of everything through even more draconian regulation as to how and when lockdowns are lifted, and no one even cared enough to tell them to go fuck themselves, I've seen not a single official response by any country, they're just straight up ignoring it completely while the globohomos are left screeching in the sideline.

Supposedly a handful.
Though again its not clear whether these were kids who died of COVID, or died of other stuff with COVID also present.

Of course its counting "Children" as under 18, and "suspected COVID" so good reason to doubt
CDC says three kids have died from suspected coronavirus in us as some children get severely sick (Archive)
Probably late, but here are some coppers doing what coppers do best during lockdown and threatening to fit a guy up for.... whatever.
