This is more or less the conclusion Beige Frequency came to in his Quinton rundown; he thought he could be a TGWT orbiter (if not full on legitimate member of) and then the wheels fell off of it. The he saw that The Breadtubers had a similar approach with a similarly dedicated audience, and tried doing that, until he realized he wasn't the "academic" he needed to be to get anywhere with that, or as funny or witty as some of the lower-tier ones can get away with being.
Imagine having a crazy dream job and then getting kind-of-sort-of within reach of getting in on it, and then suddenly the entire "field", as it were, falls apart and you're just sitting there with your dick in your hand looking around seeing how you can salvage it. That's what happened to him, and that's a heavy blow to someone that clearly wasn't anything close to being all there to begin with.
Yes and it dosent help that he burnt every bridge he came across. He really should have tried and networked with as many YouTubers epically the d list ones because you never know which ones coattails you could ride to fame. I think if he stuck with the commentary video like he was doing he might have been able to get in on a podcast or similar and kept expanding his audience and content. Sadly Quinton can't see 3 steps in front of him.
