The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Quarterpounder made another video on this mess.

And Geeks and Gamers just did a video on the shell company.

This will be fun.
I can't really pinpoint why, but I really hate/dislike the Quartering. I think its because I don't think I've heard the guy say anything remotely original and he's just cashing in on the anti-SJDubya entertainment politics block thing.

It is simply because Druckman probably had little involvement with Joel and just didn't give a shit about him. Its quite clearly obvious this was a vanity project for Druckman and not really a game intended for consumer use. He spent 100 million of someone else's money to make this. That's like Neil Breen working for Sony. Its fucking insane. To not even go over and look at what all that time and money is being used for.

And if Sony of America just accepted this, I'm done with the Playstation. I only bought a PS4 because it had a Jojo Game I wanted (shut up). I've only been getting jap games on it, like persona 5 if they aren't on PC. And a lot of games from glorious nippon are moving to PC. Steam allows nudity and adult content, so its relatively easy and Nintendo literally does not give a shit as long as its rated properly. Sony basically surrendered the weeb market to Nintendo and PC. For what, I don't really know. Hoping nu-males will buy their consoles? That's about as smart as dudebros buying the XBox.

With MS doing cross-compatibility between their games and PC and buying developers, it remains to be seen. But I am sure as fuck never getting a PS5 with their fucking spy system installed.

I just can't play as her, I just can't. From 3rd person, my brain is informing me I'm looking at a man. Then I hear that voice and it doesn't match the body AT ALL. Its fucking terrible character design. I expect this from those 4.99 unfinished Steam Games, not a AAA publisher. It just looks fucking ugly. The model and the game.
According to a poster here Sony is moving shit back to Japan soon so SOA might be about to be Sega'd so it won't matter.

For those who don't know during the time of the Saturn Sega started heavily prioritizing their Japanese division and essentially neutered their American division after basically allowing it free reign during the Genesis era.

He comes off as a poser, he's got no real internal passion about what he talks about.

No it's manufacturing that's being moved back to Japan. Sony of America will still design the hardware. Playstation owes it's unprecedented success to the American division in how they rescued the PS3. That isn't changing, they have no reason to and they just changed department heads back in April. Sony's business structure on how it runs the playstation division is still very profitable, the Americans will still call the shots and they also invested millions into acquiring western devs for the western market to capitalize on it.

The PS4's legacy is that it made Sony's first party games very competitive with other AAA games. That has not happened since the PS1 and stuff like GOW exceeded the PS1's president on the quality of first party games to their competition.

Crash bandicoot couldn't hold a candle to mario 64 when it came to 3d platformers(Spyro was a proof of concept that other companies could make similar games but not in the same size and scale), but Kratos is on par with the best of the best for adventure games.

They still don't know who did it.

This is like the zodiac killer of video games.

"The Last of Us 2 is the greatest satirical comedy I have ever seen."

imagine being Amy Henning, best writer ever, being fired for a simp and his parasite master

Actually, she's not perfect, Uncharted's dips into the semi-supernatural were kind of awkward and never really fully worked in my opinion, the story for 3 is also very messy and feels incomplete.

I actually liked that 4 avoided that and was more grounded, which is why I wanted to believe Druckmann had some talent and would deliver with Last of Us 2.

Bizarre that Geeks & Gamers was whining about everybody EXCEPT YouTube. And AFAIK there's nothing in the DMCA law requiring YouTube use these sort of policies, impose a "three strikes and you're out" hard limit on accounts, etc. And even weirder, he seemed so surprised, like he had no idea these rules were in place or that they might in fact apply to him.

Finally, all that shit about him suing for recompense or whatever? (See 6:00 on in the video.) I'm pretty sure the most you get is your video back, and the worst that happens to the false flagger is they lose their right to flag any more videos. Or is he right here? I mean, whatever damages he suffered/is suffereing is caused by the enforcement of YouTube's ToS as best I can tell. Which he agreed to when he signed up for the platform.

Or so I'm thinking.

What a let-down, TLoU was the first game I played on PS4. Any sequel should have been about new characters completely unrelated to Joel & Ellie. Even a straightforward sequel without subverting expectations would have been lazy because the original was a nice little self-contained story that should have been left alone but this is a joke.

The Last Jedi analogies only work to a point because I think Rian Johnson on some level thought he was producing something controversial but still of artistic merit. This seems to have produced out of nothing but pure contempt for the audience.

Yes, I know I'm late to this mess.

Theres a written or audio piece on the final level that reveals there were other immune people that the fireflies experimented with and failed utterly. Can't remember the details because I played that game last seven years ago.
I don't remember that at all. Beat the game a few times and the only time it's mentioned there were others immune is joel lieing saying it didn't help at all that she was immune.
Can he even be considered the bigger monster compared to the useless fireflies?
Friendly reminder that every zone the flies """free""" inmediatly goes to shit
Fair, but, he is putting the life of one before that of the rest of the human race. And through out the first game you keep learning that the quarantines keep failing due to food and equipment shortages, and the military just abandons the zone.
Well I mean if you people didn't burn the gays during the middle ages we wouldn't have to teach you how to be decent human beings. Why should you have entertainment, you are awash with sin. Your religious zealotry will not be tolerated.
Look, if gays weren't a good fuel source, we wouldn't have used em for heating.

Jesus fuck. That scene alone makes it look so good. The framing, the sound, the conversation, and the delivery. Joel comes of as a selfish monster, cause he is, and it sets up something so good.

THEN THEY FUCKING RUIN IT WITH DIALTORS AND "MUH LGBT" SHIT!

Fucking christ. That's the worst part about all of this. You can see genuine talent still, but we get social values of the creator pushed through instead.
>He comes of as a selfish monster
>cause he is

Druckmann, get out.

People actually complained about Marissa Moira and the Atelier girl? I know Japan has hardcore fetish for thighs. Look at the Xenoblade girls in 1 and 2.
Only people with no worth, personal or to society, have issues with thighs.

They are less than worthless and should be shunned and ignored.

This dude said he cried at his own writing, I don't know any writers but that seems bizarre to me.
Steven Seagal cried at his own script.

"He said Seagal is calling Irwin and he’s all shook up on the other side, and Irwin’s like, ‘…Are you crying?’. Seagal is like, ‘Yes, I’m crying… I just read the script. It’s amazing! It’s brought me to tears… It’s unbelievable.' Irwin, excited to learn who wrote the script, asked “Master” Seagal who wrote it. Seagal goes, ‘I wrote it.'"

No, you're speaking from fear. Know the difference.

Do you know how this shit started? It's not some massive conspiracy to do this, it's lone nutjobs in positions of authority, working together in a loose conglomeration, which is why they're pathologically fucking incompetent about it. I've already gotten into this, but all it takes is a few specific assholes at a given company and control can be flexed. I've been over why Marvel comics suffered that fate, but if you need a refresher, it's because of a dipshit in the hiring pool who directly hired talent from woke Twitter, even when that talent happened to be someone who wound up slipping anti-semetic messages into comic books. The corporate parent would eventually get wise to the fact that these books were selling like shit, cancelling them and firing everyone involved, only for the same hiring department to hire more from the same Twitter cesspit. They got away for this so long because even the simplest company has interdepartmental disconnects, and each one is generally trusted to do its own thing so long as it benefits the company. And since Iger changed most of the focus Disney had in his reorg of how Disney made money, Marvel was generally left to its own devices.

What I'm getting at with all this is that no large company is stupid enough to go balls-deep into Social Justice. Not when it's provably not profitable. It's literally economic suicide at this point, and the only reason it's been happening is because they've had someone to pick up the tab. The problem is that eventually, there's a bill to be paid. This is what happened with Disney-Lucasfilm, only that fuck-up was so bad that it forced the Shareholders to get involved, resulting in Iger hiring actually talented people who put out the Mandalorian.

This shit will eventually exhaust itself. All we need to do is be patient and push back.
It also helps that even pre buyout Marvel did not give a shit about it's comics division.

Marvel has been a toy company and IP farm since the mid-90s when they got bought up by Avi and Ike in the mid 90s after their exceptionalism during the comic book collecting bubble of the early 90s drove it to bankruptcy.

Under Disney it's basically become an adult daycare where Iger shoves the speds and problem children to keep them from fucking up the movies.

Also this shit has happened before remember when the Moral Majority was at it's height and how sanitized and PC things were in the 80s and early 90s?

Honestly the bigger legacy with the PS4 is that it was the opposite of PS3 era Sony. The PS3 and PS2 had some solid Sony first party games too (arguably better than the PS4's), but the PS3 pretty much fucked Sony financially. It was super expensive to make, there were lots of bizarre choices when designing it/manufacturing it, and Sony shoehorned in a Blu-Ray drive in order to win a format war that was about to be irrelevant with streaming. Most importantly, the end result was it was a console developers hated programming for that ran games worse than the previous generation of consoles did.

Then the PS4 comes out and while everyone mentions the used game thing as for why it did so much better, people seem to forget it was the opposite of the PS3. It was cheap to manufacture, didn't try to experiment with anything that could drive the cost up, and was relatively straightforward to program for.

Of course there's also plenty of controversies with how America is handling Sony Computer Entertainment, like the censorship thing that's boosted sales of Nintendo and Steam versions of anime games. But the average person buying a PS4 doesn't care about tits in their anime games, they care about being able to play Fortnite/2k/CoD/GTA and the PS4 allows them to do this.

Saw this floating around. Probably reddit fuckery. If true then Druckmann probably has a book on nihilism in his office only for other people to see it.

So lemme get this straight: you don't play as Abby halfway through the game, but you do play as Abby and go through through the exact same timeframe as Ellie did, with the chapters being split up to showcase how much time you'll be playing as .

In other words: you're playing as Abby throughout half of the game's "running time", as opposed to the halfway point of the game.

That's not any better. That's the same exact issue, just it's not happening linearly exactly like that.
Ellie -> Ellie -> Ellie -> Abby -> Abby -> Abby
Ellie -> Abby -> Ellie -> Ellie -> Abby -> Abby

Same shit different order.

Also: "This will make you question everything."
This is the same exact same bullshit thing they said would happen with Episode 8 and 9 of Star Wars, and we all know how those turned out.

Fucking cordyceps. Where happened? I really wanted to face something evolved, tantamount to The Thing by John Carpenter as a single-minded, sadistic threat to all existence.
They could have started down the path of Ellie/Joel slap-fighting with Hulk Hogan only for the cordyceps to evolve into something more dangerous and force them to set aside their differences. It wouldn't have been very original but it would have been better than this bullshit.

It's like looking at your child and getting tears in your eyes cause you created it. I wonder if that's what these people actually think lol.

Everything I write is always "How man dick jokes and references to internet shit can I stuff in this bitch?".

But did they exceed Sony's vice president?;) Yes, I know that was a typo.

There's a combination of autism and attention whoring that is really off putting. Also he'll say fucking anything without any regard at all for whether it's true or not, so long as it riles up his dumb audience.
