Still no new Ape Escape. I am begging you to just end my goddamn misery already.

Having a game about monkeys going bananas in the streets doesn't seem that appealing currently.

I'd wait for whatever is going to be Corona TGS, because their Japan studio made the ape escape games.

Also, the Spiderman game teased yesterday was apparently a PS5 exclusive expansion to what is going to be a PS5 remaster to the original game. So I guess tally up another "remaster" for the list.
It's effectively the GOTY edition of the PS4 spiderman just like how TLOU Remaster was for the PS4. All the DLC+Extra Spidersuits are on the disc. I think it's also a budget title.

Sony didn't give the finger to smaller Japanese devs. there was a fuckload of stuff just flat out made up about the censorship apocalypse that never came about. They interviewed one of the devs to Nekopara which was just a VN(and this was before the game even released) and the ching chong just posted a bunch of alarmist shit. So after the game came out the PS4 version sold the most and months later they released the sequel on the Playstation 4 with no issues.

You're going by a bunch of CENSORED GAMING/OAG bullshit that never came to pass.

The reality is Nothing actually changed. Even PQube the publisher of many smaller games in the west is still putting out games for the PS4. Aquaplus is even still making Playstation 4 Exclusives. After that initial wave of stories there was no fallout from any of the smaller or larger publishers or developers.

Looks like a revisionist tangent due of your Sony fanboyism in spite of the actual fact several japanese games were censored in Japan as well as for localized versions because of SCEA's decisions in late 2018 (which were later admitted by Sony around 2019). Just because OneAngryGamer has been really gay on this matter to the point of clickbaiting everything remotely suspicious, doesnt mean the concerns of japanese devs facing unwritten and inconsistent rules that can strike them at random to Sony California's whims, even today, aren't real.

Having a game delayed because Sony California suddenly decides it's not up to 'global standards' until changes are made can potentially fuck up a dev company, specifically a small one in charge of an ambitious project.

Edit: Microsoft has shown more japanese games coming for its new Xbox, which is rather funny in comparison.

Considering how long that these rules have been in effect we can at this point chalk it up to being just like the BLM support bullshit as an empty half baked gesture(hey even say at the end of the article you linked is that it was due to the now dead #Metoo movement, although they left out China pandering) . It's been over 2 years.

Every major series has already run the gauntlet and it's only been VN trash that got hit with it. Even Sakura Wars came out unscathed and that was an exclusive.

The Gay Dinosaur game is about on Par with what VNs usually are. They have the same amount of minimal effort put into them.

There's a reason why stuff like AI:TSF and VLR are considered the heights of the genre, mostly because they tend to add more game to them than just having a PRESS X for story. VNs are a minority even among japanese game developers, they don't sell all that much compared to stuff like Falcom RPGs which are also very heavily story driven but also have rather involved gameplay.

Also the Japanese censorship is a whole different beast, because it can be bullshit from CERO or other shit. It's not the same as in America.

Everything about the character designs make me visibly mad. Like I want to bitch slap whoever greenlit this into the next dimension.

HOW THE FUCK DO YOU RUIN DINOSAURS LIKE THIS?

They even gave the flying lizard UwU ~AnGeL WiNgZ~ UwU

Maybe we'll get lucky and there's some twist at the end like in Utawererumono where it was the post apocalypse all along and the people were actually lab animals that evolved to replace people(who cryogenicly froze themselves and that fucked up so their cells decomposed and they're body horror slime monsters now).

Almost 2 years dont invalidate the said concerns since Sony California is still the HQ for the Playstation brand and they havent made any statement to get rid of their unwritten guidelines of "global standards" so it's fair to assume it's still in effect but is inconsistent enough to strike randomly any unlucky japanese dev. Or force devs to reconsider anything in development that could potentially raise a red flag in SCEA's review board, but that were otherwise fine with CERO despite the latter is harsher in practice.

"they were shitty visual novels, not like it mattered to ME!"

That's a nice slippery slope coming from a disingenuous fanboy like yourself. Nevermind that there were actual games among that censorship strike. It doesnt matter if the quality of those titles is questionable, it's still a dick move from Sony America to (loosely) impose "global standards" to another culture.

You're bitching too much about California, if it wasn't Califags it would be the Austin retards, if it wasn't the Austin Retards it would be, NYC rejects. Dangerhairs are not exclusive to a region it's a mentality.

Vns are trash and this will never change but the irony of ironies being that their censored versions actually sold the most. No actual Games were hit by the censorship Policies. The poor sales of Senran kagura can be directly attributed to marvelous themselves and the situation they and XSeed got themselves into by thinking trash akin to it was worth THE BIGGEST DUB EVER. 99% of the game is still there and if the Dressing Room was a make or break for the series, that really shows just how awful and poorly done the series was. Tales of berseria was not affected by this policy but they had to change the opening for the European version which co-incidentally altered the North American version. That actually didn't harm the game's sales and mostly because people really didn;t care because the other 99% of the game was unaltered and it was still quite good. Even the PC port has these changes.

Akiba's Beat was a big steaming trashpile, I played it from start to finish getting 100% in the game. It's quite bad, and stemming the flood of low effort trash games is not necessarily a bad thing. I mean look how all the waifu driven idol garbage ruined anime. Hell Steam still removes stuff from it's store page for the same reason.

People don't want that shit much like people don't want to be moralized to by Naughty Dog.

A bad game is a bad game. People won't go to bat for a game if it's garbage no matter what moralizing reason there is. There's no slippery slope argument, that's just how shit works.

Yet, Life of Black Tiger still remains unaltered.

Also, dude, can you ever make arguments about this situation that don’t devolve into “I personally don’t like them, so it’s good that they’re getting censored, that way, no one will play them”?

No actual Games were hit by the censorship Policies.

Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Scarlet (two items gone in the PS4 version but present on the Switch)
Devil May Cry 5 (which was patched a few months later by Capcom to restore and remove the light flares)
Omega Labyrinth Z (localized version ultimately got canned by Sony amidst of the outrage)
Senran Kagura Burst Re:newal (localization removed the Dressing Room)
LoveR (clothes physics are fucked up on the PS4 while they're fine on the Switch somehow)
Zanki Zero (dungeon crawler heavily censored in the West)
Conception Plus (lost a couple of intimacy features that were originally present on the PSP)
And I think there were a few Compile Heart titles that got hit by the censorship policies too.

People don't want that shit much like people don't want to be moralized to by Naughty Dog.

People are free to like nu-Naughty Dog stuff. I personally mock their current stuff but I wont wish censorship on them.

You misunderstand, it's not that I think it's good that they got censored.

I think it's good that the series or game in question exploded into flames like the hindenberg. I don't care about the method in which it exploded just that the garbage gets taken out.

Devil May Cry's issues was Capcom's own fuckery. LoveR's is a frame-rate issues.

Everything else on the list is either not a game or it's the digital equivalent of Go Set A Watchmen:

Omega Labyrinth Z especially, it used the same template Stranger in Sword City used.

Makes me wonder what all those "apes will escape" posts from official sources were for.
I'm wondering if it's gonna be like posts from nintendo hinting at a mother 3 release that were deleted after no announcement came, or the weird mother 3 references in the animal crossing announcement that never lead to anything.
People have been waiting over a decade now for both and seeing them in this state of hype purgatory hurts like hell.

I don't get people complaining about lack of games at launch. I don't think a single system has had many at launch. This is one reason we never buy new consoles in this house. They have so few games, it ends up collecting dust for a year.
That's only going to increase this year with the quality specs in these Sony/MS consoles. That's why I've always thought the Nintendo model of cheaper hardware makes more sense for what consoles should be instead of this blurring the lines of being mid-high range PC quality at launch. If you're going to drive these people into buying consoles for $600+, of course they'll lack patience and complain.

Watched Vinesauce Vinny's vod last night, and after seeing the whole thing these are my thoughts.

As everyone has said, the PS5's design is bad. It looks like a Chinese Wii bootleg you'd have seen JonTron make fun of years ago. All I wanted was a flat box that I could stack on top of my PS4 to save some of my limited space and Sony couldn't even give me that.

Deathloop looks interesting, and I'll probably check it out when it hits PC. The Dishonored series is one of my favourites, and that gameplay with more emphasis on gunplay sounds neat. It would fix one of my complaints about Dishonored, which is that gunplay is so heavily discouraged that on my last playthrough I used my gun a grand total of twice. As long as the abilities are cool and I can warp to a rooftop, pick someone off, and blink down into the middle of another group and mow them down, I'm interested.

Stray also looks neat. I like the cyberpunk/everyone is robots/grungy aesthetic they seem to be going for. Playing as a cat (as I assume is what the game is about) is also something we haven't really seen and could be used for some interesting gameplay.

Goodbye Volcano High is genuinely terrible looking. Deviantart OCs combined with a (likely) cringeworthy script, the sheer terribleness of which could potentially give Life is Lesbians a run for its money. Lastly, it looks horrible graphically. I don't know what toon shader they're using, but I've seen better from independent artists on Twitter. Also, furries (scalies?) suck, so screw 'em.

Some miscellaneous thoughts (in no particular order):
-That trailer with the little android girl (Pragmata?) looks neat, and I've always loved the abandoned city setting. I'd need to see some gameplay before buying though.
-Demon's Souls (a remaster I guess) looks good, if you like the series, I guess you'll be happy for that.
-Little Devil Inside looks good, but like so many other games in this presentation, I don't know what it is. The trailers tone was also all over the place, with a poop joke awkwardly placed in the middle of an otherwise decent action-focused trailer.
-Returnal (besides being a rather stupid name) wasted so much of the trailer focusing on, quite frankly, a rather ugly woman. She looks like a career politician or someone who yells about men on Twitter all day, not an astronaut. Maybe I'm biased due to Current Year, but she looks like another in the recent line of terrible looking "stronk female" protagonists.
-Bugsnax is a weird one. It mostly seemed fine, but something about the character design/voices really rubbed me the wrong way. Dunno, has potential.
-NBA 2K21 and GTAV are the same old games rehashed to suck even more money out of the whales. If you're going to buy them, you already know.
-Godfall had a honestly terrible trailer. Over a generic looking fantasy third-person hack and slash was some random hiphop song rapping about lambos and bling. Out of place and distracting, Gearbox seems to have made another terrible marketing campaign.
-Kena: Bridge of Spirits seems fine. Graphically it looks like a Pixar movie. Being a "story-driven game", it could either be really good, or the most current-year progressive bullshit. Only time will tell.
-Destruction Allstars (what a generic name) just looks like the epitome of hipster. The gameplay seems all over the place, combining Rocket League-esque driving in a destruction derby with what looked like on-foot combat. The graphical style is best described as Fortnite meets Borderlands. The screenshot in the spoiler is all you need to see to decide whether you like it or not.
monstrosity.png
-Oddworld, "VILLAGE Resident Evil", Hitman III, Gran Turismo, Ratchet and Clank (even with the furry bait Rule 63 Ratchet), Solar Ash and Ghostwire all looked fine to pretty good. Not for me, but they seem solid enough.

I think that's everything. Overall, there's some that I'm looking forward to, and some I'm really not. None of them convinced me to buy a PS5 though, especially since the one or two I'm interested in are coming to PC anyway. I might pick up a DualSense controller, depending in if it supports PC compatibility better than the DualShock 4.

It died in the Xbox360 Generation when every game had to be "REALISTIC" and killed art design for the western game world so now instead of art they have trends.
I think it was the opposite. The constant complaints about everything that looked remotely realistic = everything has to look like a cartoon or a granny's knitting bag. The increasing number of people gaming on laptops and console fans starting to care about framerate and resolution means that realistic games are going to take a large graphical hit on the downgrade.

I don't get people complaining about lack of games at launch. I don't think a single system has had many at launch
At launch, I agree with you. That's why people talk about "launch window", ie. the first few months.

But even then, it used to be that companies tried to release a system with games to play on it. Now they've completely given up and expect people to buy a new console because it's a new console. Gone are the days of having a single game move systems, like Halo or Goldeneye.

Also, furries (scalies?) suck, so screw 'em.
Fair. I'm of the opinion that furry can work as an art style. Look at Starfox or Dust.

But Volcano High could only be more Tumblr if it was calarts. I'm going to guess it's furry in an attempt to win the furfag audience that they assume will buy dog shit if it has furries in it. It worked for Night in the Woods after all.

Yeah but Night in the Woods had a Dev kill themselves, Volcano High makes the audience want to kill themselves.

Oh, I don't have a problem with anthropomorphic animal character designs, there are some I quite like. I was more referring to the trash that is furry culture, and also how these bland uninspired designs blend into the sea of similar generic OCs on sites like Deviantart or Furaffinity.

Apparently the Dino game is written by the same person who posted an article on kotaku featuring cgi porn of a pre half blood prince Emma Watson getting fucked
Finally a real pro who knows what a gaming narrative is.

I'm wetter than the man who has fallen into the river in Lego City.
