The problem is that this game has a budget in the area of a hundred million dollars. Who would deliberately take a risk going for niche appeal with so much on the line? I mean, "niche appeal" might be pushing it. Hack misery porn will probably never be more popular than it is now. Maybe this will be the straw that kills that genre. I wouldn't mind.

Stupidest shit ever. They could just not release it or make a good game. Making an intentionally subversive shit game and then leaking it so people can shit over it and not buy it is stupid as hell.

On top of that it's typically the opposite of what happens in big money environments. They're more likely to value short term over long term so they wouldn't intentionally tank both their high value IP and big investment AAA game.

Joel didn't even know who Abby was, yet here she comes with a shotgun and golf club and just goes to town with him. Why?

Then Ellie sees Joel in distress, knowing what they've both been through before, tries to stop them, only to be stopped and beaten up by the mob. Abby just looks as some mad, selfish character.

What was even the point of that? I'm disgusted, just from that alone.
