Haha, yes. The funny thing is, while crafty and outdoorsy stuff is indeed sort of associated with lesbians, or at least a particular variety of lesbian, what Phil doesn't get is that its because those things are stereotypically seen as masculine. When a straight white boy like Phil does it, people just see him as being (relatively) normal. I mean granted he doesn't know how to screw in a light bulb and has never done strenuous physical activity in his entire life, but the idea of a guy going camping or fixing stuff around the house is well within normal gender roles. The only reason anyone would think he's... gay or bi or whatever is because he constantly says it. And wears t-shirts and patches that say it. And tattoos it on his skin. At least until he decides to change sexualities because something new and trendy came along. Is it wrong that I'm a little disappointed he never got any yaoi or Hetalia tattoos back when he was obsessed with anime? At least he got a big one on his face in honor of space fascist Kylo Ren!

Like with anything else Phil claims is part of his "identity", it was just something that Phil thought would make him seem more edgy, dangerous, hardcore, unique, and grown-up. I've likened Phil's "identity" to a paper doll before. Something that is thin and without substance. All the little things Phil claims as part of his "identity", like being trans, Antifa, BDSM, etc. are all just outfits to dress his paper doll up to make it fancier. When it comes to the kink shit and claims of being a "sex worker", it's Phil wanting to be seen as grown up and adult. He honestly doesn't care for sex, and the few sexual encounters Phil has actually had have left him sobbing like a babby. But he knows that grown-ups have sex, so he needs to be interested in sex too in hopes of being taken seriously as an adult. But just as Phil's "paper doll" identity is thin and without substance, so too are the paper outfits he dresses the doll up with. It's all just image for the sake of image, hoping that he can fool people into thinking there's real substance behind the posturing and be impressed.

Having followed this thread a little, I doubt any reputable surgeon would have been involved in a re-assignment surgery as the mental turmoil that he presents wouldn't be lessened by re-assignment.
