Formula 1 Discussion - And favourite driver?

Are you fucking kidding me?? But yes!! Perez looking good for podium! LOL

LOL, I had Norris as one of my fantasy pics too so thats fine he grabbed it. Nice fucking lap to snag the FL too! Entertaining race for sure.

Lewis looking like a diversity hire for his move on Albon

is there a video of Lando's onboard final lap?

I usually enjoy F1 but was concerned this season would be another Merc domination season. Good on Lando for making P3. I might actually try to tune into next race now it seems like there might be some challenge this season.

I mean I wouldn't use this GP as a way to allay those fears. The Merc is by far the fastest car, if they didn't have that 2nd safety car it would have been an easy 1-2 even with staying right off the curbs. Hell if Lewis could manage to fight with Albon without hitting him for once it still would have been a 2 Mercs on the podium.

All the other cars are a way off the pace of the Merc at this point, reliability and mistakes from the drivers are our only hopes of this not being a 2 horse season.

All that said it should be an interesting mid field battle this year, and hopefully this will be the year Bottas finally starts relaibly sticking it to Lewis after last season's off the track distractions got the better of him.

I'm pretty sure the only reason Bottas didn't get a call from James is because Hamilton got a time penalty today. Otherwise I imagine they are still aiming for him to take the championship yet again, if not more so because of recent events.

That said if Hamilton wins, he wins. It's hard to feel salty about it outside how "samey" it is now. Though his attitude going into the season makes me wonder if he's gonna be peeving fans and other teams a bunch as season goes on.

If Bernie was still in charge we'd be talking racing. That guy knew how to make a sport entertaining since that is its entire purpose. Unfortunately the Americans took over and that group of wealthy white Americans always feel the need to insert messages and lectures into everything, it can never be just entertainment for some reason.
Liberty group is absolutely desperate for growth in the american market and they hope this signalling of virtue helps their numbers. As for drivers, I think only Hamilton, Albon and Lando really gave a damn about this thing and the rest are involved for the sake of looking good on social media. Then again, this isn't the first time F1's done global issue virtue signals; just observe how they used to talk about global warming and alternative fuels back in the early 2010s.

not real btw, but this sounds like Hamilton when his pit stop is 0.23 seconds too long and he comes out behind the leader.

Albon should have contact with Hamilton's face. Fuck off you tosser. The next generation have arrived and if you weren't in by far the best car on the grid you would already be an afterthought to the kids. Also nice job shitting on another driver of colour, thought you were all for diversity you racist.

When I first heard of this anti-racism push (which is obviously only talking about the American/UK Black Lives Matter movement) I was interested wether they would only play it up in Europe or COTA when they get there when there is nothing to lose and lose it when they go to the middle-east.

But in reality countries like Azerbeijan or China or Saudi Arabia are likely the ones pushing F1 to do these "end racism" antics, using Lewis Hamilton as a political pawn to criticize America to distract us from their own problems, and companies like Aramco or Petronas are all too happy to put themselves on the Mercedes black livery and those dumb Americans won't think twice about it.

Looks like Mercedes might have screwed up thier gearbox design causing the sensor issues at weekend. Hopefully a bit of unreliability and having to nurse it will make for a better championship challenge from others.

Excellent a wet race is usually pretty fun. Moreso if it's just odd showers so they end up making lots of tyre changes between wet and dry. Hokenheim last year was just a great GP for all the changes.

Drive to Survive's done a lot to get yanks interested in this sport but I think the main thing is to start watching races as they come and see if you like what's on the offer.
