Strangely, Bob embodies one of the more popular (and occasionally accurate) slurs about the South. That is, a great deal of Southern fried racism stemmed from poor white people needing someone, anyone, to feel superior to. It's less of an issue in modern times, but it was a real motivating factor after the Civil War, probably all the way to some time after the Civil Rights era. There's a scene in Mississippi Burning that sums it up well, where Gene Hackman relates a story about his father that ends with the dad saying, "Son, if you ain't better than a nigger, then who are you better than?"

That's Bob ... with anyone on the right. He's convinced himself that it's only righties who are taking after him for this, that they're deliberately misreading his sly humor and not that it was grossly offensive all on its own, and therefore he simply cannot under any circumstances back down or draw in his horns. He's SUPERIOR to all those wasteland ghouls, goddammit! And he will not be cowed!

I also think Bob vastly overestimates his own intelligence, and secretly believes he's always the smartest person in any room, but I've expounded about that at length already.

How the hell is it slanderous/libelous if there is evidence that you made a bunch of Tweets calling for Germany to invade Poland again?
