🐱 Netflix Movie 'Cuties' Could Be Investigated For Violations Of Child Exploitation Laws

CatParty

Texas lawmaker has called for the Netflix film Cuties to be investigated for possible violations of child exploitation and child pornography following uproar over a poster that sexualizes the young actors—but the film's creator says the film itself has been misinterpreted.

Republican member of the Texas House of Representatives, Matt Schaefer has asked the state's attorney general to conduct an investigation.

Schaefer announced his plans on twitter amid calls to "cancel Netflix" which began trending on the site.

"I have asked Texas Attorney General Paxton's office to investigate the @netflix film Cuties for possible violations of child exploitation and child pornography laws. #CUTIES#txlege," he tweeted.

Titled Mignonnes in French, the film sparked hundreds of thousands of calls to #CancelNetflix on Twitter this week, following its release this week.

Netflix's promotional poster for the movie sparked intense backlash last month for showing the child actors wearing revealing dance attire of shorts and crop tops and striking various dance poses, like kneeling on the floor and squatting.

There's probably actual pedos on staff at Netflix who okayed this film being allowed on their service. They're jerking it to this film.
I agree with this completely. It's obvious. And it's probably not just ordinary staffers but people higher up in the management that gave this a green light. Media is absolutely pozzed. Pedos and their enablers have been increasingly brazen in recent years, with outlets like Salon publishing articles openly supporting pedophilia, and others publishing articles about "supporting" so-called "MAP"s. They're increasingly taking up positions of authority within media organizations to slowly "warm up" society at large to the idea of sexualizing kids.

It's fucked up, but I take solace in the fact that they started this push to legitimize pedophilia about 20 years too early. They should have waited longer. There are still plenty of people alive who wouldn't hesitate to shoot someone dead for targeting their kids, and they'll make enough stink about it to provoke a general pushback to drive the fuckers back underground for awhile longer.

it might have something to do with jeffrey epstein and all these connections with people suddenly coming to light. they're trying to normalize it so they can still look like those cool hollywood actors and not like a bunch of fucking pedophiles

That's not happening. Period. Netflix is drowning in the progressive kool aid. There's probably actual pedos on staff at Netflix who okayed this film being allowed on their service. They're jerking it to this film.

They're gonna use people complaining about this film as a kludge to beat them over the head with. Mocking them about how they're wrong a and stuck in the past.

Exactly and this is why I have nothing but disdain for the traditionalists who bitch about "hurr durr what are we conserving?" and post that stupid StoneToss comic about the elephant saying how Leninists are the real transphobes.

Because the previous generation of traditionalists were so hellbent on conserving for the sake of conserving and sperging about "muh degeneracy" while promoting austere morals, they more or less poisoned the well for any kind of non-leftist condemnation of media.

There's a reason why so many "normies" and moderate liberals have been convinced that left-wing moral guardians do not exist and that "cancel culture isn't real"

If you're going to engage in a corporate ban in 2020, especially if it's related to sex in any way at all, you have to do it from the left-wing perspective as opposed to a right-wing traditionalist one. If the Woke Left likes it, you can't try to ban it on moral grounds without the help of cancel culture and seeing as the director is a black lesbian, she's practically immune to cancel culture unless she pulls a JK Rowling and says something that upsets the troons.

In other words, if (((someone))) wanted to flood the market with cp then all they'd have to do is hire jogger carpet munchers to make it?

More or less. Bonus points if there are troons also involved in making it as well.

Granted, I think (((they))) aren't in on this one. Unless you count the self-hating wealthy secular ones and their equally self-hating and wealthy Anglo dilettante friends as (((them))).

When it comes to the culture wars, (((they))) are actually closely in bed with the slack-jawed green-eyed inbred Protestant yokel moral conservatives and traditionalist faggot Zoomer papist useful idiots/crash dummies.

When are they gonna taker TLC and/or lifetime to court then for the same shit? Toddlers and Tiaras, Dance Moms, literally any other show that exploits children? or the various family youtubers who constantly stick cameras in the face of their young kids? What makes Cuties 'special' ? when it's basically another in a long line and there's barely any effort to curb other similar, if not worse, television and youtubers.

I'm not in support of the film, I just think it's weird that this is the thing that finally breaks the camels back.

I'm guessing because Cuties is blatantly sexualising those kids rather than overtly like the pageant shit?

I mean, is this possible? the film was made in France. IIRC, the film was made with a grant from the French government. Netflix is just distributing it. I'm pretty sure France is ok with this shit. The government is not going to seriously look into abuse allegations for a film they themselves had its hand in producing.

I'm not against an investigation, but what this guy in Texas is doing is virtue signaling to the right. Not bad, since his heart is in the right place. But America shouldn't, and isn't, going to start up the World Policing again over a movie. What this Rep is suggesting is the equivalent to some politician in France asking for an investigiation into that incident where that guy got shot over a mattress in an alley in Texas.
Just because it was made in a country where this shit is legal doesn't mean the US can't investigate whether it violates their child porn laws.

I agree, but will France cooperate with out investigation? Probably not. They're pretty drunk on the regressvie kool aid. And the film was produced by the state.

Maybe because people actually pay for Netflix?

The democrats should make the election a mandate of cuties. This is the hill to die on Dems, you're totally winning over the normies with this. They love the idea of sexualizing children. Definitely go all in here, this is the winning issue.

I don't understand this whataboutism. Yeah, exploiting children is bad(maybe, children not having to work is a modern thing) but sexual exploitation is always terrible. If you think Toddlers in Tiaras and Dance Moms are sexually exploiting children show clips of those shows where they pan slowly over little kids bodies and focus on their private parts to make them sexually enticing. Everyone will get their pitchforks and "cancel" those shows too.

The response should not be "LOL, you can't be mad at Cuties because you weren't mad at these shows". If you think those shows are bad it should be "Damn right be mad at Cuties, ALSO be mad at these shows". Its a really weird flex to defend cp by saying other cp is acceptable.

I didn't say don't be mad at Cuties, nor did I say you can't be mad about it if you weren't made about those other shows. I'm not in anyway saying any form of CP is acceptable, because it's not. That's some intense putting words in my post that aren't there. Cuties takes it to an extreme that's terrible. I think people have every right to hate it and be against it for all the reasons listed in this thread I just don't get why it was ever allowed to get to the point that this film was brought to American audiences and only now are we seeing mass outrage when the content is only slightly worse than other programs that have aired on various channels over the the years.

I wasn't defending anything I was ruminating on how there was a precedent set by other shows that were only slightly tamer and it's weird how it's only becoming a big issue now when other shows consumed by the America public opened the door for Cuties. The exploitation of kids is a serious problem and recording them prancing around in sexuallized outfits, dancing sexualized routines, etc - to broadcast it to a wide audience should have been something lambasted more far before we ever got to this point.

They're all terrible.

A lot of that could be caused by the fact that tensions were never this high in the past.
