It also makes no sense for them to buy a Japanese company...None of the AAA Japanese companies are likely to get bought out by Sony. A lot of these companies also do pachinko machines.
The other Zenimax parts are wort way more than bethesda.I´m saying that Bethesda most likely isn´t worth 7,5 billion.
Wolfenstein is funimagine playing a bethesda game that isn't doom lol
also just realised microsoft owns obsidian and bethesda now. New Vegas bros, are we home?
At least they can use Vault Boy for all their terrible VR experiments instead of IPs people care about like Conker.
The new Colossus is not. Neither is Youngblood.Wolfenstein is fun
That´s especially true in this current political climate and people being thinskinned.Nah another Fallout like New Vegas isn't happening.
All the people that made New Vegas what it was aren't at Obsidian and even if they were some of those people (Cuck Avellone especially) have changed for the worse.
Supposedly MS will honor Bethesda's commitments to Sony, but new releases afterwards are on a case by case basis.Lel, just saw that this means Microsoft owns two Sony timed exclusives.
Well Sony did fuckup their preorders, again and TLOU2 shouldn´t have existed in that state.I genuinely thought this was some crazy April Fools Day joke when I first heard of this, 2020 has been crazy after all.
I suppose I feel more vindicated about getting a Series X, and getting all those games on GamePass will be pretty cool.
tldr zenimax has wanted to go public for years and i assume they wanted to do this through providence equity - obviously it didn't fucking happen and now that robert trump and presumably les moonves aren't involved with the company anymore, i'm assuming altman felt like cashing out and selling their (nonexistent) souls to microsoft was the best option? i don't know what to think anymoreI support this theory. There's a player here that I cannot find any information about in all of this: Providence Equity Partners; They're a private equity firm that owns roughly 25% of Zenimax, has been pumping millions into them since at least 2007 and has been trying to get rid of their stocks and sell the company since 2016.
Rumor goes Fallout 76 was their idea as a method to encite possible buyers with a Live-Service money-making machine.
I speculate that this didn't pan out like they thought it would and probably had to sell the company for less than they expected once the company stagnated and started costing them more money than they were producing with the development of ES6 and Starfield.
Did Microsoft ever make back the money they spent on Minecraft?
nazis and undesirable individuals can't play wolfenstein sweety... just ask pete "motherfucking" hinesWolfenstein is fun
Sony just purchased Insomniac last year specifically for spider man and they bought up a few mid range japanese developers. Is Sony in a position to pull off a major acquisition? I mean I can see them buying Konami so they own MGS, Contra, and Castlevania. Or just buy the rights to those franchises. I don't if Kojima even has anything left to say for MGS, other than maybe finishing up MGS5 proper.
I’m not going to be optimistic about a damn thing until they fire Todd Howard.Microsoft also owns Obsidian now plus Bethesda... You know what that means? Maybe, just maybe, we'll get something as in-depth as New Vegas and not a shallow puddle like Fallout 4!
I'm out of the loop on this. Why did Carmack have a feud with Zenimax?Get ready for john carmack's wacky VR adventures again

I believe its because Zenimax didn't like him focusing so much on VR shit, they viewed it as a waste of time, which after HL: alyx they must be kicking themselves in the ass over.I'm out of the loop on this. Why did Carmack have a feud with Zenimax?
