In the grand scheme of Vtubers, that's a low number. A mid level Hololive girls like Nene could get that number, let alone Korone's easy 20k or Pekora's 50k live viewers....in Youtube
Pretty sure at one point Rushia managed to get 100k live viewers via a memeable collab stream

Edit: Also, as much as I hate it, that number is also irrelevant if you also included the chinks on Bilibili

Projekt Melody is definitely the most interesting IMO, if only for the body tracking and production value. If there were someone more skilled at gaming and less aloof with the same hardware, I'm sure they could attract a larger casual audience on Twitch that wasn't interested in vtubers before.

I don't think she has anything to worry about when it comes to doing her camgirl shit either. Melody is definitely in one of the better positions as far as the e-vtubers because she always has the horny crowd on CB to fall back on, but at the same time, idk if she'll have the staying power with the twitch gaming crowd. A lot of her twitch followers as it is are people who are just there because they found her on CB (it's me I'm guilty). But her actual gaming is atrocious - the girl had to pause stream for 20 minutes because she got too stressed out by Portal 2 of all games. At some point I feel like actual game-centric twitchers will grow tired of her and she'll be left with the simps and coomers, which do still have significant numbers. But until she actually develops personality beyond "nervous geek girl who masturbates on cam" she won't truly be a household name.

CVID isn't necessarily present at birth. My understanding from her streams and convos among her friends, which seem to at the very least be consistent, is that she was born with the disorder but it didn't become so severe as to dominate her life until she was in her 20s. She makes remarks about The Dark Knight being the last movie she was able to see in theaters and entering college level opera and music courses before the disease took over her life. And I have people in my personal life who suffer from severe immune disorders - the things she describes fit with symptoms of the disease and I know from my schooling background that immune disorders can start showing symptoms for years before the real trouble sets in.

Maybe Ironmouse is full of shit, maybe she is even worse than she describes, it can't be for any of us to 100% know. But based on my own experiences with immune disorders and other things such as being able to hear her infusion pump beep mid stream and seeing pictures on her personal IG of tubes in her nose, I feel like she actually does suffer from a very severe form of CVID. It also, funny enough, explains her high pitched voice. Damage to her respiratory tract would very well explain her nasally high pitched voice in my experience at least.
I remain very cynical of people at large but even I doubt someone would go through so much trouble to research symptoms of an illness and mimic those symptoms for years just to make a vtuber personality which she had no way of knowing would succeed. IronMouse has been around for a couple years, before ProjektMelody brought all the normies to vtuber culture, even streaming on largely defunct platforms like younow. Even removing my own experience and bias from the issue I doubt someone would go through so much consistent effort to create such a story that dates back to when she only had like 50 semi-regular viewers rather than the thousands she has now.
As I've said before though, I have been wrong many times in my life.

I'd agree with you if you were refering to just the big names, however, there are numerous vtubers who struggle to even get a 100 consistant live viewership. So in terms of indies, 8k is doing very well.

Indeed if you put it as indies, but she's going corporate now, so my compariosn is the corporate names I know. But she hasn't debuted as a VShoujo, so let's just wait for the final verdict

On unrelated news, I fucking overslept and missed a lot of the stream, but the girls are currently playing Cthulhu TRPG with 3D models, with Fubuki as DM itu turns out

This is essentially what hololive and nijisanji are. The potential growth for high production value v-tuber productions globally are ten times higher than the Japanese cap, which still manages to get 650k people to tune in... for a 1 hour long instant curry commercial. Normies are gonna start getting exposed to this whether they want it or not in a year when the actually important companies make their move. People with real money around the globe are looking at YAGOO and wondering if they could do it better.
