It's a "small act" to stay home and away from your family on the holidays. I shudder to think of the large acts and sacrifices this dipshit is going to force us to undergo.
No. Do all you can to live without reference to him. That's what I'll do, and that's what I did during eight years of the Obama regime.

Yep, already calls on Twitter with #AmyCOVIDBarrett and demands for Biden to expand the court.

It's amazing watching people demand their rights be taken away by the government "for their safety."

@Salubrious - Yup, just like the Oceanians who thanked Big Brother for raising their chocolate ration to fifteen grams a week after it had been cut from twenty grams a week. I say, fuck that and fuck them. 🖕

Sums up 2020 politics in a nutshell.

Announcement: We have raised the chocolate rations up to 15 grams.
Salubrious: Wasn't it 20 grams before?
Facebook/friends: Stop spreading conspiracy theories Salubrious! CNN has decades of journalism experience and you don't!

Fauci said at some point that restrictions should remain in place for ONE YEAR after the vaccine is distributed.

I wouldn't be shocked when people start calling for masks and social distancing to be made permanently "for our safety."

At minimum, I'm pressing X to doubt on all of 2021.
He's a dumbass if he genuinely thinks the public will take one more year of this shit after the vaccine comes out. "Experts" and politicians have spent months hyping it up as our "salvation", so it'll be the magic bullet for a lot of people. Regardless if it's all that effective or not, people aren't going to suffer more restrictions after they get vaccinated for much longer.

Unless they want rebellion and economic ruin, they really need to pump the breaks when the vaccine arrives.

Parents, if you haven't had "the talk" with your kids about what information they should NOT be sharing with people outside the family I suggest you start yesterday. Also, homeschooling is legal in all 50 states.

Republican governor being just as authoritarian as his shitlib counter-parts.

There's going to be a "record breaking day of cases" anyway because of thanksgiving.
You must be psychic.

It's appalling. I think a lot of what is happening, people - as in poliicians-think it will not be noticed. For example, in the UK, Matt Hancock (lol his real name lololol), the department under his control, the department of health and social care, during this crisis, has spent £50,000 (yes, that is the right number of 00000s, no it is not a typo) on hot dinny dins for their staff.
Nothing wrong with a name like Hancock, we know John Hancock would be having a Tea Party for the people who rule now in his beloved Boston, and he'd spare some for the rest of the people in this country who believe a slightly higher amount of people dying than normal means we need to toss out every single right and liberty that's been part of Western society for centuries.
Twatter likes to say only right-wingers simp for the government and rich people at a detriment to themselves but there's plenty of that to go around.
You know how they say the two parties reversed positions in the 60s like on race and all (so it's okay for the KKK to have been Democrats) even if it's a gross oversimplification of the historical reality of party alignment? It seems like we're having a real realignment right now where the Democrats are the party of the rich, the party of Wall Street, and the party of big business while the Republicans are the party of everyone else. The Democrats were never so blatantly in favor of income inequality (wealth redistribution from the poor to the super-rich and then handing out a few scraps back to everyone) and megacorporations as they are now.
Republican governor being just as authoritarian as his shitlib counter-parts.
Pretty sure a "Vermont Republican" is basically a hardcore Democrat pretty much everywhere outside New England, the West Coast, and college towns/particulary stupid big cities like Austin.

Another one who practice the "do as I said, not as I do" mantra. https://www.zerohedge.com/political...ured-partying-maskless-boat-surrounded-bikini
Authored by Paul Joseph Watson via Summit News,

The world’s so-called “hottest doctor,” who has repeatedly called for mandatory mask laws and social distancing, was pictured maskless partying on a boat in Miami while surrounded by bikini-clad women.

Mikhail Varshavski, known as ‘Dr. Mike’ online, completely contradicted his own advice by throwing a ‘super-spreader’ 31st birthday party for himself on November 12.

“A picture of Varshavski on a boat in Sunset Harbor surrounded by 14 other people — most of them bikini-clad women — has since done the rounds with his fans calling him out for hypocrisy,” reports the Daily Mail.
Another video shows the doctor massaging a woman’s neck on the deck of the boat while wearing a face scarf that isn’t even covering his nose.

Varshavski behavior is completely hypocritical given that he has repeatedly lectured others for ignoring social distancing and demanded mandatory mask laws to save lives.

“If by not wearing a mask you put other’s lives at risk it might make sense to make it mandatory. Wouldn’t you agree?” Varshavski tweeted back in June.

During a YouTube interview with Dr. Anthony Fauci, Varshavski also said, “Social distancing is incredibly important. That’s how we control the spread of this virus.”

Varshavski has also appeared on CNN numerous times telling Americans to abide by coronavirus rules to which he is apparently not subject.

Varshavski’s fans savaged him after the embarrassing photos were leaked.

“You are supposed to be the example. I admired and respected you. Now that is all lost,” said one.
“I never cared about my health, I never trusted doctors before him, now I don’t know what to believe or do anymore,” added another. “I was able to bring my family back to reality only with the information and arguments he has provided in his videos.”

OK, so 2020 was a rat year and we got a plague, next is Ox so we get a ______.

I have to give you an optimistic rating my friend. I HOPE you're right, but they've already convinced the normies that everything they do is "for their safety" and to speak against it is being "anti-science."

I keep getting shocked even though I shouldn't at the number of times people have flat out said that people's independence is a trait that needs to be stamped out for their own good.

It's been a fantastic example as to why you never surrender any amount of freedom to your government, because you won't get it back. Sure, they keep saying that we're just about to reach the crest of the hill, it's just about over, we can get there if we just buckle down and try extra hard, but we're on day 245 of 15 days to slow the spread. That was eight months ago.

They say the lockdowns are just temporary, just a measure that we have to deal with for the moment until things "level out", but this country is full of things that were supposed to be temporary; things that we were only supposed to live with for a little while and then they'd get scrubbed off the books and we'd go back to business as usual. It's been a long time now, but do you know what other measures were "temporary" in the past?

The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) were only meant to be active until we were "victorious in the war on terror." The Patriot Act was also supposed to be a temporary measure, but that wasn't going anywhere anytime soon, until Trump slapped it off the table back in May, to absolutely no fanfare. It's been about 20 years now and I can't help but notice that I still have to take off my shoes to get on an airplane, because some dude failed to blow his feet up in December of 2001. In France.

Sales Tax, which began in Wyoming as a temporary, emergency measure to help the state recover from the Great Depression. By 1933, eleven more states had imposed a sales tax, and then eighteen more, and then thirty, and by 1969 (Yes, that recently), every single state had imposed a sales tax, save for the N.O.M.A.D. states. (New Hampshire, Oregon, Montana, Alaska and Delaware.)

Highway Tolls, which, in their modern form, began as recently as the 1950s and were a temporary measure to help fund the construction of the highway, after which all of the toll booths were meant to be removed, once the highway had been "paid off." This has only happened a single time in U.S. history. The Dallas-Fort Worth turnpike or I-30 was paid off in 1977 and the booths were removed. So far as I know, no other road in the country has done this before or since. It began as a construction fee, then it became a maintenance fee, and now it's just flat-out "give us money."

Income Tax, which began in 1861 and was only used to pay for the war efforts during the Civil War. The U.S. imposed and repealed income taxes several times throughout its history, exclusively for war efforts, until 1894, when Congress passed the Wilson-Gorman tariff, the first peace-time income tax in this country's history. It was repealed by the Supreme Court in 1895 after it was deemed unconstitutional, but thanks to Theodore Roosevelt's Sixth Message to Congress, we're now living underneath a permanent income tax.

You might think it's a little crazy that they could perpetuate COVID ad-infinitum, because surely at some point people would start to question a lockdown that's extended well beyond the reasonable duration for a novel virus, and you'd probably be right. That's when we start shutting down because there's too many carbon emissions in an area, because there's been an outbreak of the latest H1V1/COVID/SARS, because it's flu season and we want to "minimize the impact", there's been another riot in an area so we need to lock down. The circumstances would change, but the framework to enact it would already be built.

If you impose a "temporary measure" for long enough, the next generation won't even know it's temporary.
Well damn that's scary. Than again I'm not sure if the same could apply to covid since with the advid of social media people will start something at some point. Humanity can't go through life like this and at some point it has to end unless they want another great depression. Oh wait they're aiming for that.

Fitting, because IMAGINE MY SHOCK that this dude's a hypocrite living it up while calling for the plebs to be restricted harder.
All the people I know revelling hardest in the lockdown and scolding people hardest are ones who have important reasons why they are exempt and I hate it.

One likes to rant and rage about masks- thpigh does she ever was her reuseavow novelty pokemon muzzle, hahaha fuck no. And while she is busy foaming about people going out, she is trying to plan a move across the world to the USA . Soooooo. I'm a shit for going to the gym but she is fine to get on a plane?

These people are of all backgrounds and classes and race and jobs but never, ever forget: they can do as they want, you cannot and they will sell you out in a second cos rules for thee, but not for me

As someone who took life sciences and statistics in University, this year has been so fucking enraging. The way they present the data in the most fear mongering way gets me incensed. If they presented it honestly, the news consoomers wouldn't be shitting themselves with terror.

Here's a graph of the US COVID confirmed cases (yellow), recovered cases (green), and "deaths" (tiny black bars at the bottom of the graph)

(courtesy of https://www.covid-19us.live/ where you can see the graphs updated daily)

It helps to really visualize the scale of how fucking weak this virus is. Almost a full year of counting every possible death they can as a COVID death, and we're still at only x3 the number of people who die yearly from the regular flu, and that's with a yearly flu vaccine.

But instead you get headlines using whatever data metric they think will sound the scariest. It's complete horseshit.

I've got a feeling that there is going to be a rude awakening for these tyrants if they keep pushing people.
I bloody hope so.

I'm waiting to see how my two sibs react to the latest "regional tiers" shitshow here. They're both smart, but they're also both fuckwits about the peking pox (one has young kids and bought the "save the children" lie, the other is an diabetic tosspot whose wife is fat), so I reckon their reaction to it will be a good measure of how the country at large is taking the whole farrago. If they complain and reject it, then I know the country will turn sooner rather than later. If they knuckle under and accept it, then I may as well just dig a hole in the garden, lay down it it, and wait to die, because there'll no saving this place.
