The Last Of Us Part II Game Awards - The Last of Us Part II

Is Geoff Keighley human?

No no, the first guy is the one who made Hades. The tweet is showing the comparison between a guy who’s just happy to be nominated and thanks the fans for helping get the game off the ground vs Druckman going “lol vote 4 my game to own the h8ters!”
Ahh, my bad lol

Inb4 due to the oscar's middling performance celebrities decide to hijack VGA/TGA/BBC/etc.

Gotta be finished attempting and failing at youtube first tho, and probably finish the anita goobergate shekelbridge.

I think Brie is nominated for content creator of the year too. Does that create some sort of conflict of interest? Probably.
No she wasn't

This dude just couldn't resist encouraging people to cheat the system and vote multiple times to his shitty game while retweeting someone involved with these joke ass awards lmao
TBF Neil doesn't actually say that lol

I do love Ghost of Tsushima, but people voting for it solely to "trigger the libs, own the libs" leaves me a little booty-blasted. Ideally I'd like people to vote for which game they actually liked better, not "Vote for this game to pwn the haters!" or "Vote for this game to trigger teh SJWs!" but gaming communities have become completely retarded circlejerks that this is the unfortunate norm. Even when GoT wins (because it looks like it's going to now), nobody's going to be celebrating how good the game was, they're gonna be frothing at the mouth, celebrating that TLOU2 lost and that they've "destroyed teh essjaydubbaus" by... voting for a game.

At least the GoT devs aren't contributing to the retardation like Neil is though. Lol

True, but I can think of worse ways to spend an evening online than getting some friends together and riffing the event.

IIRC last year wasnt even worth riffing. I think Keighly is getting a tighter hold on it after the fuck the Oscar's thing

God damn you know it was a shit year for games when this is your lineup. Surprised to not see FF7 Remake in there. Maybe they thought it would look a little suspicious if four of the five options were Sony exclusives.

Truth is, the game was rigged from the start

So it's only 10%, I thought it was around 20. It's the usual illusion of choice and the public vote on social media is probably used as an indicator for the ad companies to the sponsors of the Game Awards.

Animal Crossing not being nominated for GfI is bullshit. Rarely does a game ever actually "impact" anything but this one came out when people came out and was a phenomenon. Also, the game itself wasn't very good and it did not deserve the "best family game" or whatever nom it got. Nintendo does not by default equal family or, in this case, quality.

Big mistake. Shit like that Oscars rant are what get people watching because they wanna see more. I get that letting guests say whatever they want runs the risk of them saying something controversial or offensive but I think it's worth the risk.

But no, Geoff wants things ~professional~ because it's the video game Oscars so it needs to act like the real Oscars, completely ignoring the fact that the Oscars are boring and no one wants to watch them.
Oh, also I think it's really funny that people are more receptive of Gal Gadot than Brie Larson, despite the fact that Gal Gadot has quite literally said this (which, let's be honest, is worse than anything Brie has said or done) and gets nowhere near the same level of disdain that Brie gets

It's probably because Gal is more attractive and seems like a nice, fun person. She's still a total nutjob, though.

When they say "impact," they mean it hits on social issues. It's how Tell Me Why got nominated despite being really boring with a messy story, because there's a troon in it.

The category has been pretty vague up until now. Social issues has always been part of it, but I remember in previous years games got nominated just for being very relevant in the way that AC was.

Which is why I find it so cringe worthy that they keep up this needing to show commercials non stop, the whole gamer audience thing as well as the shitty e-sport stage design.

But then I always get the "but ProblematicUser, then it wouldn't be a good representation of video games."

Which really says something. If you think Video Games need to have this weird dude bro, childish presentation because it's part of the "culture" or whatever, why the fuck are you still trying to present them as a serious artistic medium and not glorified adult toys?
