He was only involved in the last anniversary film, correct? So it’s not even like his content is so entwined with Channel Awesome’s history the way that Lindsay’s or Linkara’s is. As is the case with Spoony, and a lot of other people with threads on here, this is someone who is not well who should have gotten real help instead of just gathering Internet friends. There is no reason why all these problems, which are severe if true, need to be aired publicly.

Channel Autism was literally the one time that he had any kind of fan base. It's not like he was well liked or respected while he was there but he at least wasn't somebody like E-Rod who thirsted for acceptance or Film Brain who was a complete prat.

He was there, now he's not and he's forever going to thinking back to that time as being his moment in the sun.

He's one of several people I've noticed do this. They talk about how Channel Awesome was such an integral part of their career and identity, how deeply they were intertwined with it, how it warped their mind because of all the shady dealings and how they struggled to leave the site because they were so embedded into it... and I have no idea who and they are and I never saw them or anything they made even once when I was watching TGWTG.

A lot of them tend to see themselves as a much bigger part of the site than they really were. Plus, he was in Lindsey's clique so he had to be be important to the brand. Except he wasn't, most of them weren't except for Doug and Spoony. The site lasted several years after Kyle left, and it's still going strong after CTC.

But the other way? In most cases CA was a big reason they got their fanbases in the first place. It's been talked about how when many of them first joined, they went from 2000 hits to 20000 an episode, and then higher. And they got to meet people they liked and became friends with them, an idea that was repeatedly enforced by the community and the reviewers, especially Linkara, that they were all one big happy family. Considering what we know of these people, this is probably the first time since highschool (Being generous here) that they had a group of friends they could talk to about things that interested them. And then they lost all that when they had to leave.

So I can see CA being a big part of Kyle's life. But he was not a big part of CA.

From what I understand, Channel Awesome was toxic because Kyle thought he was the only serious legitimate movie critic. Nostalgia Critic was a goofball character, Spoony was over the top, and Kyle really hated Brad because Brad unironically liked bad movies.

A good example of his arrogance was in his Serbian Film review where he said he was the only one on the site qualified to review the film. He shit on Phelous and Brad for doing joke reviews. You see, it was a deep social study on the culture and history of the Serbian people and their struggles. Phelan and Brad just focused on the rape memes. What a couple of uncultured frauds!

Last I checked (it's been a while), he was engaged to Jourdain Searles (@jourdayen on twitter) but also came out as bi on his bi-lighting video and was actively indulging his new identity as a queer boy. Really, he was the last multi-celled creature on the planet to figure out he liked guys. Fun fact, he and Jourdain used to be friends with Todd in the Shadows and Dany Roth (Song vs Song podcast), but in December 2019 Jourdain accused Dany of sexual harassment and their friendship imploded. Always fun when the biggest proponents of #metoo get #metooed because #believeallwomen but oops, not that disabled woman of color.

Which is odd, because I've never seen any indication that he's especially qualified or knowledgeable about film.

At one point he did have some interesting takes, I liked his video on Ralph Fiennes Coriolanus, which discusses the modern day setting as more than just a gimmick. There are a few others done round about the same time, covering films that were obscure for fairly good reasons, like Merry Christmas Mr Laurence or Revolver.

He's objectively producing worse content than he was 5 years ago, which is kind of interesting.

Most of Channel Awesome producers end up making worst content. Reasons are simple, they lost their passion/mojo. Also, most of them covered everything they wanted in the past/someone else covered it better. And in the end, its a glorified hobby, unless you bring something new to the table, its pointless. That guy with the glasses days are long gone and landscape has changed drastically, but that doesn't stop ex-CA producers to make content like its 2008, same production value and same format.

Also fuck this misogynistic snobby dude, Linsey and co. should cancel him long ago.

Oh, I agree about that. Todd has been simping for Lindsay for years after they broke up. But I also believe him on this. 1) The timeline adds up 2) The behavior has some evidence to it and 3) This rings true for exactly this sort of person.
