I don't disagree with anything you are saying but the SC has to look at the overall intent of the legislation. If anyone could resign and walk away from any consequence it rules the idea of consequence as moot and thus not in-line with the many other aspects of the constitution. If a senate can expel a person then if they commit the most outrageous act and leave prior to expulsion or consequence and be free of it, it again raises an interesting point for the SC to consider: If the body has the power to expel and remove from office, is a person who is engaged in the most obscene act preserved by taking a step at self-preservation, or is the scope of the intent behind the constitution more broad? Could the President shoot and kill 5 members in Congress, resign and be free of consequence?

In any event I see many hypotheticals never before imagined being considered with legislation and with the SC and 2021 and 2022 will be interesting purely from the legislation and litigation that is set to unfold. What we see now is the tip of an iceberg.

The president is still obligated after leaving office to many things including a Secret service so the argument can be made there is an obligation after office also. Its not black and white.

There will be good arguments for and against many things, but I do not see the SC preserving the power of the Presidency as we have become accustom.

Mitch is going to destroy Trump. This is the only thing I am certain of. He may destroy himself and his party in the process, but destroy him he will. He isn't losing the donors who give him money for Trump - if Trump is bad for business then he goes out with the garbage.
The federal courts exist. Murder is still a crime. So your hypothetical President would still have consequences.

If that happened, you'd be seeing "explainers" and "fact-checks" within half an hour about how the tape obviously doesn't show what it shows and words obviously don't mean what they mean and if you disagree you're a white supremacist terrorist who needs to be locked up ASAP.
They already did this for the video in Georgia where all of the poll watchers were called out for the burst pipe flooded toilet and they pulled suitcases from under the table and started counting unobserved. It's about as smoking gun as it gets and they still had fact-checkers saying "haha what you're seeing is fine, yup nothing wrong here haha".

For unity, Biden's first official act as POTUS should be to pardon Trump. LOL.
And then Joe is quietly wheeled off to the bedroom to take his meds and Kamala and his press crew says he mis-spoke and the next time Joe is asked about it he tells the reporter they're a lying dog faced pony soldier.

Reminder that JFK got his brains blown off for much less than this

Where is the spoopy alt-right now?

Thing is beria was a fucking mass rapist and murderer, but he got killed by khrushchev because that last one wanted to rule after stalin and the bald fuck was in his way

Simple as

Holy shit you actually voted for the dementia guy? not saying you should vote for the qoomer candidate but come on

And domestic terrorism can get pretty ugly, look at countries like colombia who had terrorism for over half a century

Its not gonna be pretty if every attack looks like the oklahoma bombings, or if migas and qoomers start attacking the infrastructure
Dementia guy? Don't belief the crap you hear or want to hear. He is far more coherent and focused than Trump - by a significant margin. One problem with dicks like you is that you actually think when a guy barks louder that makes him more mentally all there. there are literally reams of paper printed showing where Trump trails off into never never land, speaking of things with no connection to his last half sentence.

You know, for a guy who has dementia perhaps you can explain how laser focused he was to take the Presidency. Senate, retain the house and flip a number of states blue. Perhaps a calm voice to you means slowness, whereas generally smarter people think before they talk and take their time.

Pretty good for a guy you think has lost it.

I know you're an unironic cuck because just saying the dementia meme sends you into soy-fueled impotent rage tirade, not unlike migas when you call their guy a cheeto

I didnt vote for the darth cheeto guy and I didnt vote for dementia corn pop either. The reason the later is "winning" right now is because he has the entire corporate apparatus behind him, big tech censoring his enemies while at the same time media censoring his own fuckups like his crackhead son's escapades. Also tons of well-paid advisors who know how to manipulate gullible idiots like you

Meanwhile cheeto guy fired bannon which was the only one in his shitty team that knew how to manipulate the masses and basically the only reason he went from being the joke candidate in 2012 to winning the nomination and the election in 2016. Not a bannon fan at all but he's the one that got this fat fuck to be president, but he got outed because of nepotism, that is trumps daughter not liking him because her hubby didnt like him since unlike most neocons and neolibs (cornpop included) he wasnt an israel cum guzzler

If you think cornpop's age isnt getting to him you're delusional, he's too fucking old. And this isnt the first time we have an old fuck with dementia as president, remember reagan?

The reason why the GOP lost EVERY COURT CASE is because they were lies; but that is an oversimplification - it is the premise that started it that is interesting to understand.

All that happened is a think tank was put together and they dreamed up (based on their understanding of election law) how you could hypothetically steal an election or commit fraud. They then took every state they lost by a reasonable low margin and transposed these hypotheticals into briefs. They then sought confirmation bias based on these hypotheticals. The same hypotheticals could apply to any state. They only did it for the ones they lost.

This is clearly, plainly and obviously blatantly obvious when you read the briefs because the purported fraud they claim in most instances is not improbable, but IMPOSSIBLE the way they said it "happened". This is because when they had their think tank, there was NO ONE in the room who understood election laws, or even how the machines operated. Not improbable, but impossible the way it was said to have happened. This is glaring. It is obvious. It is fucking retarded.

So when they filed these briefs it was clear to the judge that the "evidence" was not only false, but manufactured based on a poor understanding of the elections and was total fabrication.

This is akin to losing a game and then dreaming up ways in which the other team cheated, filing a claim and then having pointed out to you that the coach could not have spiked the drink as you said because the camera showed him not only at the other end of the field, but the opposition team didn't even have a water cooler.

Supporters paid millions to C-level lawyers and got a F result. A and B Level lawyers looked at the briefs and laughed them out of their offices.

Instead of going to a protest, grab a beer, a dictionary and read the briefs. Then you will know why not only was thee election not stolen, but you were lied to. LIED TO.

The only basis the GOP can legitimately question the results is by the legislation used in the different states, but for reasons made quite clear in the judges opinions, this isn't fraud and the different states need to address their procedures. But no fraud. The SC (2 if the judges) wanted to hear the arguments because process and legislation is relevant - but that did not mean they would offer relief.

Was there fraud? Probably, according to the hypotheticals the liklihood there was fraud in the range or hundreds or perhaps a few thousand votes is likely - but the fraud would have been committed by voters, not an organized central group, and would likely be evenly split. It also would have happened in a number of states not mentioned or filed for. This is because the way you would commit fraud in the swing states effectively makes central organization of fraud requiring hundreds, if not thousands of moving parts and so many people to pull it off it is just absurd. ABSURD....
A...B...S...U...R...D.

All They did was put forward a blueprint of what we need to watch out for in the next election - so thanks for paying for that. Much appreciated.

He's old. But he is not without his sense.

He is unlikely to go a second term. But he is fit for President as he is. My ears work as well as yours, and I don't listen to sound bites, I hear the while thing. He is not as sharp as he was but he is far sharper than most.

There were plenty of senior republicans who warned against having Trump as the nominee - but frankly the voters get what they want so there was nothing to stop Trump getting in.

But Trump will not be returning in 2024, or 2028 or ever. That is a pipedream of delusion for anyone fostering it in their mind. Big Tech, big money and truly powerful politics is against him - it is not David versus Goliath but more akin to Cockroach vs. Godzilla. The Dems do not need to do much as the GOP will pull most of the weight on this with the Democrats holding the sword, but the GOP quietly sharpening the blade.

I doubt there could be a civil war because that is not plausible, but domestic terrorism for sure over the next 4-8 years. But it won't amount to a great amount of damage. All that will happen is for every domestic act of terrorism, those committing the acts will simply erode the freedoms for us they purport they are fighting for, and both parties will approve of these eroded freedoms.

Which bothers me a little but not a great deal. Instead I propose they all go to Florida and live at Trumps compound and start their own community.

As for Biden there is not much he can do to unite the nation; but he can govern well and I imagine that is what most people had hoped for - good governance, but most are realistic about the troubles we are having and know Biden isn't there to fix that. That's certainly not why he got my vote - to heal a nation or sooth relations between Dems and Republicans. Instead, I just wanted a reasonable person to be at the Bridge as we go through the inevitable economic nightmare and heath crisis we are in for.
I'm not talking about a physical civil war who will control the GOP. Like it or not, Trump opened pandora's box in which the GOP base is not going to sit lying back being lead by a Romney or pre-Trump normal.

And good governance? More like no more mass shrieking from the institutions of power and everyone goes back to sleep.

Beria also had dirt on everyone else around thanks to his job as head of the NKVD. He was J. Edgar Hoover but somehow even more evil and power-hungry, and had gladly buried many, many people at the request of Stalin, including associates of the Politburo members. He was a dead man walking the minute Stalin keeled over, and nobody should be surprised he met a well-deserved end.
J. Edgar Hoover was a not-so-closet fag who spied on people.
Beria was a well-known serial rapist who carried out mass executions both on Stalin's orders and his own volition.

Yeah JEH run afoul the constitution and is partially responsible for the glowing alphabet soup mess we have today; but the cross-dresser who spied on hippies & black panthers isn't even remotely in the same league as Lavrentiy "Take of your pants or I kill your parents" Beria.

"You don't have any proof that the ballots hidden in a suitcase under the table pulled out after poll observers were told to leave were fraudulent ballots!"

Can the Senate convict Trump and ban him from ever holding office? Is so, I guess the impeachment might not be totally worthless (from the Democrats' preservative) … although I should note that Trump might not want to run in 2024 and all the informal sanctions he's getting (i.e. being deplatformed, loosing future access to banks, etc.) would be enough to dissuade him from running again. Also, at this point, I think the Trump children, who are younger and less burdened by Trump's most obvious character flaws, might be the bigger political threats.

There's also a bunch of talk of somehow punishing Senators Hawley and Cruz, as well as House minority leader McCarthy. What do you think is going to happen to them?

He's a demented old fuck like reagan and even before that when he was "sharp" he was an asshole dixiecrat who passed laws that fucked over black people and used terms such as "racial jungle", and was friends with known jim crow defenders and segregationists

Not that his vp cares since she sent a ton of innocent black men to jail because she wanted to show what a strong and independent woman she was and how good at her job she could be, no fucks given about if all the men she sent to jail actually deserved it

Of all the candidates the democrats had these were the worst, that they could get these two elected shows the sheer power of media conglomerates and specially of big tech to both promote them, clean up their history and censor any actual criticism

When I found out that these two were the most harmful to the black community, after the years of painting Trump as the most bigoted President in existence, shocked me that the Dems are really that abusive with the black vote, especially since BLM is a big donator.

It's fascinating, these Trumptard cultists would rather trust Trump, who has repeatedly shown that he doesn't care about anyone but himself and whoever pays him enough money to create further tax breaks over their entire legal infrastructure, every instance of political and legal oversight over the election and every instance of control and verification.

I can't even put into words how fucking delusional this is.
Trump lost fair and square. Undoubtedly, there was fraud going on to homeopathic degrees by individuals on all sides -ffs, I bet some sucker tried faking ballots for Ron Paul- still doesn't mean Biden won by foul play.

This isn't a fact-based argument, it's emotional assholes not being able to cope with losing an election and coming up with ridiculous claims about foul play during the election to protect their childish fee-fees. You know. Just like last time, only this time, the crying bitches be wearing MAGA hats instead of pussy-caps.

One negrate = one dose of copium chloride

Yes, in theory, they can do that, but in reality, it just isn't going to happen. The precedent would be so obviously terrible that even if some Republicans went along with it for some reason, you can bet some guy like Joe Manchin would block it. It isn't happening. This is an absolute waste of time and an embarrassment and the Democratic Party should hang its head in shame at engaging in such utter bullshit.
He's a demented old fuck like reagan and even before that when he was "sharp" he was an asshole dixiecrat who passed laws that fucked over black people and used terms such as "racial jungle", and was friends with known jim crow defenders and segregationists
And he was a VP to a black dude and now is a President with a black woman as VP. Notice how desperate he is to establish himself as a friend of the blacks. Remember when he "complimented" Obama by describing him as articulate? You know, because negroes can't speak in human language. And that is just the most prominent of the little ways he lets his racism slip.

There are definitely potentials for hilarity in this Presidency.

Uhm... do you realize how genuinely absurd and nonsensical it is to claim that a 'think tank' of that magnitude would just... forget to include somebody with a basic fundamental understanding of the subject that could determine the outcome of the most important election on earth?

I'm sorry, but that's like saying a group of engineers discussing a hypothetical new plane design somehow forgot to include somebody who understood that planes require engines.
