I suppose you could say there are many "SJW threads" in a sense, as Kiwifarms has threads keeping track of countless communities. Have you even seen much of the rest of the site, or only this thread since you came here?

I strolled into a couple of threads that were suggested at the bottom of this one, but I haven't really looked thoroughly.

I'm honestly surptised you stuck around so far. Usually people who are more in with the socialjustice-y movements, and members of communities that are often openly mocked here, see this place as a nazi hell hole. Some people almost seem to fear sites like this, the way they are portrayed. It's not even all "SJW vs anti-SJW", the Farms attract a far more diverse crowd, (and make fun of a far more diverse crowd) than it's reputation would have one believe....

I still think that trying to practice literal witchcraft in the modern day is complete fucking bullshit, but hey, you do you. The historical and cultural aspect however, ancient celtic druids, paganism, welsh culture an historical pre christian religion is definitely interesting to me.

I don't really believe in the Christian God but it's not a problem until it starts impacting others lives. witchcraft is kinda my way of connecting with my culture, and if its all wishful thinking and nonsense at the end of the day, its a way for me to cope and it makes me happy

nah that's not what we were saying. we were saying he has a nazi dogwhistle in his name, which was very sus. gem was saying that if we're white we don't really have authority on racism because we don't experience it in the same way. the way that ableds cannot have an authority on disabled people, or gentiles can't really know what antisemitism is like. Is it the usual "they cyberboole the poor trans autistic enby womxn!"? Most of the time we are just documenting things that are shown publicly, and people get mad that they're being held accountable.

I think what we're getting at here (and mods feel free to move all this to some other thread) is that when tumblr says "nazi" and when certain subcultures (of which you are a part, Angie) use that same phrase, it's not actually referring to "nazis". It instead refers to the diluted version of what that term now means. It's a thought-stopping cliche at this point that reduces to "nazis bad" without a clarification of what "nazi" actually entails - because it no longer is what that word originally meant. It's almost synonymous with "bad person" or "demon" at this point.

The desert dogmas like having women be below men because they were born in the middle east and grown in a culture of nomads and shepherds. It makes sense for them as much as a ban on eating pork does.
Germanic tradition had roles for men and women that reflected the needs of the area and the weather/seasons. It makes sense to give women a "holy" duty to the home and community (with an emphasis on self-determination) because they're going to be left alone more often when the men are off raiding and hunting.
If we look at the "Woke Left" we can flip it and ask ourselves: What are the values they promote and what are the systems they're working around?
I myself would argue that even this elevation of feminity you guys are talking about is a negative part of their dogma.

There's a model of faith seen in some very VERY old pagan systems where the gods gain their power from their followers. Rather than being naturally all-powerful, sacrifice and the worship of humans is what gives them strength. You see this in some modern fringe religions as well.
Maybe that's their workaround, even though it's completely inconsistent with the actual gods they claim to worship.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but to my understanding, complementarianism is the idea that men and women are "meant" to work together.
My readings on pre-Christian Europe, however, are not consistent with this idea. Theirs was more of an "adding on" in that a man with a good wife was made stronger for it, and a wife with a good husband was elevated above the position of an unmarried woman.
As a practical example of this, an unmarried woman in what is now Denmark before ~1000CE would gain ownership of land and property as the result of marriage, but before that she belonged (quite literally) to her father's household. Her husband in turn would gain a partner who would manage the home for him and protect and educate their children while he was away. Without a wife, the man would not only have no children, but he would be reliant upon the others in his community to feed and house him.

I get where you're coming from, but you're still looking at this through a Abrahamic lens. These gods work completely differently than the all-powerful gods of the desert.
Way less "Prince of Egypt" and more "Conan the Barbarian"

The Abrahamic god is an all-powerful, omnipotent being who looks after you. A shepherd to a shepherd-people. The pagan gods, in contrast, were just hyperreal versions of people-people, and that's why these tumblr pagans are not just pathetic, they don't even have enough respect for the traditions they claim to worship to learn otherwise. They just swapped in their Christian god for a Greek or Norse one and called it a day.
Odin is not your father. He's not the "All Father" to all people and a touchy-feely woke daddy. He does not care about you. He will not protect you, he does not love you. He and the others have their own "lives", and you are meant to follow their example and learn from them, not rely on them.
When you look at it this way, it makes more sense. The pagans of Europe lost to the invaders because the invaders had greater military strength, it was up to the pagans to drive them off, and they failed. That's on them.
Modern "woke" discourse divides the world into the colonizing invaders and the innocent victims, so children who grew up in this discourse are going to see the Christianization of Europe through the same lens. If you were to travel back 1500 years and talk to a European from that time, however, and tell them what has happened, they wouldn't see themselves as victims, but as the losers of a war.
They would say something like "Oh, we lost the battle" or "I guess we should have allied with the other tribes. We were overwhelmed." They wouldn't cry that their gods had abandoned them, if anything, they'd be embarassed that they let their gods down by losing.
