I'll never forget how Whedon made her gain weight for that role. That's a shitty thing to do to somebody's metabolism.Interesting. I remember hearing those rumors about Jewel Staite,

Gaining/losing weight for a role is actually pretty standard in the business. Look at Joaquin Phoenix in Joker, for example.I'll never forget how Whedon made her gain weight for that role. That's a shitty thing to do to somebody's metabolism.
Another example to add is Will Smith when he performed the role of Mohammad Ali.Gaining/losing weight for a role is actually pretty standard in the business. Look at Joaquin Phoenix in Joker, for example.
Colbert is worse due to the fact that he's basically a literal bought and paid for handpuppet for Podesta. Podesta bought Colbert, body and soul, in exchange for Podesta getting the DNC to finance a failed vanity Congressional run by Colbert's sister. She had no chance to win, but Colbert basically sold himself to pay for it and is now has to say whatever the fuck Podesta demands of him to pay off his sister's campaign debt.Joss is right next to Wil Wheaton, Stephen Colbert, and Jon Scalzi in my top tier "obnoxiously woke speds who will get outed as sickfucks" league, so hopefully this story snowballs into something to be used to have him lynched by the mob
Didn’t Colbert is also in the Epstein’s flight log?Colbert is worse due to the fact that he's basically a literal bought and paid for handpuppet for Podesta. Firefly was never good. It had potential, in so far as decent core cast (Fillon/Tudyk/Torres/Baldwin) that were largely unknown at the time or perennial "that guy/girl" folk, a breakout "actress" (Glau) for coomers, but in general it was a slightly warmed over failed Blake 7 rip-off who's legacy is more or less based on the fact that it died in the crib, plus the network interference issues that allowed Whedon card blanche damage control to deflect all blame for the project flopping. I'd also argue that Serenity (the movie spin-off) was the truth death blow for the franchise, especially since the death of Tudyk's character (even if, as was rumored, was forced by Tudyk allegedly only agreeing to do the film if he was killed off due to him not wanting to be tied down to a film franchise) soured a lot of people on wanting to see further stories due to him, not Baldwin or Glau, turning out to be the real breakout of the cast and his character's death killed normies desire to see the story continue in any shape or form.Firefly is the James Dean of TV shows: it died when it was still young and beautiful, so it became frozen in time to the minds of the public, who now did not have to live through the otherwise inevitable decay of age, drugs, and AIDS. It was a pretty good watch overall (Heart of Gold is the only really bad episode, and IIRC that one never aired) but so was the first season of Nu Who- first seasons are where authors have to color inside the lines, stay within budgets, and otherwise keep their shit together instead of writing self-indulgent trash and getting away with it. Whedon, like the vast majority of creatives, needs people with the power to tell him "no" in order to stay on track.

I could've sworn the series was also based on anime like Outlaw Star and Cowboy Bebop. It had a lot of nerd shit in it, which was new and groundbreaking at the time, but probably didn't sit well with old duffer network heads.Firefly was never good. This sounds like a Final Fantasy House scenario in the making.Serenity was a miserable bomb (complete with members of the Whedon faithful buying up tickets and giving them out to "mundanes" the way the Scientologists did with the Battlefield Earth film), the faithful still had hope for years that Twentieth would spend even more money for a sequel. While I make the usual "I'm not talking about ALL fans, just the militant and obsessive ones" disclaimer I found too much of the fanbase (and even just a few was too much) for Firefly made the Eltingville Club and the Scientologists put together look like a gentlemen's tea party.
It was a particularly bad spot for me, seeing as how back in 2005 I was harangued by some "friends" that I needed to watch Firefly - who were still into "fandom", people who were going deep into becoming, to use a modern term, "consoomers" - because "you HAVE to see this!" Part of it was because those friends thought they saw similarities between my then girlfriend and I and two of the show's characters (although I sure didn't see it), and part of it was because of that basic zombie behavior that can afflict obsessed fans. I had a couple of old acquaintances who, when we were still running into each other in our social circles, wouldn't talk to me because I said that I'd rather not watch another episode of Firefly under any circumstances. Personally, their company wasn't really missed.
Anyways, no matter how canceled Whedon is, it won’t unruin pop culture with his smirky nerd shit. Sorry.
It never was any different, it was this way since the days of the silent movies. The only difference is that before Twatter and so on the got rid of "problematic" people a little bit more discretly.I love how Hollywood has become nothing more than a pit of vipers eager to sink heir fangs into each other in one way or another. Just a big pile of shitty people who are shitty to each other.
God I can't wait for the industry's reputation to sink so fucking low that most people would rather become actual prostitutes than work in Hollywood.
The Whedon Studies Association, a society of academics devoted to studying the works of Joss Whedon, is debating whether to change its name. Fans who grew up with his signature show, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” and were planning to introduce it to their children are grappling with what to do.
As a side note: what in God's holy name happened to Michelle Trachtenberg?
I can provide some evidence that Scalzi probably has some skeletons in his closest, in his review of the movie Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events he says he wishes he could have a crush on actress Emily Browning, who was around 15 at the time, without feeling like a "creaky creepy" but he was still gonna tell us how much he was wanting to crush on this 15 year old of course.Joss is right next to Wil Wheaton, Stephen Colbert, and Jon Scalzi in my top tier "obnoxiously woke speds who will get outed as sickfucks" league, so hopefully this story snowballs into something to be used to have him lynched by the mob
Nothing "happened", that's the point. "Male feminists" were always predators. What the fuck happened to Joss Whedon ? I remember him being the name in male writers writing strong female characters.
Nerds and autists were too busy consooming to care until the #MeToo era gained steam.Yeah. But its like a major fall. Like how did it get so bad ? How was he even considered a feminist ?
Eh, the anorexic goth look isn't that bad.the wall
