SCP Foundation - Creepypasta with roid rage - now ITT: SCP fans

Depending on your point of view this statement can have very different meanings lol
What it means is that forcing yourself into gender roles for the sake of trends is unhealthy, and not even in the whole "Gender is a construct" way. Being yourself is more important than being a Man or a Woman™, we're kind of at a point in human psychological and technological expansion where those ideas aren't as important as they used to be. If being you means you want to wear a dress and put on makeup, cool. Don't care. As long as you're a relatively decent person, more power to you. Tattoo yourself green and split your tongue and be a lizard if you want, I don't give a shit. Be "you" as long as "you" isn't an asshole.

Am bored, went through the PMs with ARD. Topics include:
-More CSS discussion.
-Roget/Harmony giving chat operator powers to a bunch of random people who do nothing but get into kick/ban wars with the power.
I've also attached a log that seems to be about some sort of vote, but I can't figure out what. If someone else has context, that would be nice.

It was some 05 policy vote I don’t recall which one. ARD was always independently thinking and willing to challenge me and Kaktus as you see in that log, so he never even got close to being invited into the Yurt. Self-esteem was too high he wouldn’t have fed into the toxic validation loop we had/is still presumably going on in there behind closed doors.

I'm uninformed on the @pixelatedharmony question. Is he being a nuisance or a benefit to the thread?
A massive benefit, with a ton of behind-the-scenes content she's sharing on request, but a bunch of people are losing their tiny fucking minds over it because a reddit tranny is posting happily without being cowed into acting like everybody else on the website.

I resent being described as a “Reddit-based” tranny but the rest is just based ♥️

Both. The leaks are giving the thread a lot of content, but it also derails sometimes, like right now. As long as most of the autism is contained here it should be fine.

The story of SCP as a writing project seems to be a cautionary tale of what happens when you don't gatekeep your communities and eventually those without artistic standards overwhelm those with artistic standards.
I'm not sure, it's sort of both. They actually did gatekeep, they just did it in a weird, maladaptive way that drove off anyone who wasn't into weird social gamesmanship, i.e. SJWs and troons.
People really sign up for this shit thinking they’re going to learn to be a better writer.
I actually considered signing up at one point because I had some ideas, but the list of hoops to jump through wasn't just onerous, it was weird and creepy and cult-like so I backed away slowly.
youre spunky babe

i bet you couldmake me spunky too
Be very careful @pixelatedharmony , he's into diapers.

Obvious benefit but with some potential to turn into more of an attention whore. Is being slavered over by weirdoes because of hot goss, but by the same kind of people who'd have called him a troon and told him to kill himself a month or so ago if he'd shown up to defend SCP.

That said, isn't sucking up to the site or pretending to respect our culture, despite a reasonable grasp of what it is here.

They had to gatekeep to keep garbage articles off the site, but eventually the rating module became more than a device for quality control, and that was when most of the problems started. I'm not super familiar with RPC, but the star-rating system they have seems like a better way of filtering out bad articles.

At the very least the nuance prevents a cultish obsession with accumulating votes and statistics over making authentic art.

I actually liked the level of quality that kept complete trash SCPs from becoming part of the canon, but that phase was pretty short, to tell the truth. Once it got taken over by SJWs, it was just a way of enforcing ideological conformity, not literary quality. There was a time, probably around 2010, when it was absurdly high quality by the standard of anything coming from 4chan.

And then, like everything, it got worse, got worse again, and continued getting worse until we're where we are now.

I would actually argue that the quality of the writing peaked significantly later than that, probably in Series 3 or 4, but that's subjective and I can only think that because I don't mind narratives in articles.
