SCP Foundation - Creepypasta with roid rage - now ITT: SCP fans

Sorry for non contributing post but, can someone give a tl:dr of the recent Roget leaving the staff team drama?

Rogret evolved into Rogrette aka pixelatedharmony (now ITT). She asked for all her works to be deleted, cause that was sort of the unspoken rules, if an author wanted it. Staff said no and now are dancing through their usual bureaucracy to mask their true intentions.

A lot of current and former staff still considered her a friend up until recently when all of this got revealed.
I was wondering how RPC was taking this.

Caro is indeed a very unstable individual. RPC used to have a power sharing agreement after an alleged incident where Caro attempted to commit suicide with Tylenol and had to be hospitalized for several days. I believe this is also why they stepped down.

She also gained power on RPC by supposedly sending nudes to the admins, although in hindsight there's a possibility they could've been faked.

Also FYI: I still have my suspicions Caro was a spy at all, or, if she was, she must've abandoned her original goal because she got too entrenched in RPC autism. A lot of current and former staff still considered her a friend up until recently when all of this got revealed.
No I'm pretty sure it's confirmed Caro sent nudes to multiple RPC admins, but CFO had already given her admin at the time. I think she did it just for attention. Caro appears to be a serial liar, if nothing else, so it's extremely hard to confirm what exactly her intentions where

The following is taken from #site67, the staff chat. It shows an example of the staff explicitly evaluating political opinion and affiliation in regards to the possible promotion of a site member.

<MobileMagnus> I dunno.
<MrAnakinSpecter> "Ever since I was seventeen" no way this kid is older than seventeen
"However, my first paycheck was spent on gas for my car, insurance, and my first earned purchase2 — a brown duster and a cowboy hat, both of which I still have and use."
is this kid for real holy shit

<Modern_Erasmus> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LwPxnnaek84 here's a video of his that was also quite concerning for me
[The guy's video is him saying that he doesn't want to discuss identity politics with people on facebook anymore because no one has the capacity to have a discourse, that they only want validation of their feelings. He says he doesn't care if his political opinions offend someone because facts>feelings. An example is how there are biological differences between men and women. Sounds like a lowkey SCP critique, no wonder. He isn't wrong. Cringy. But not wrong.]
<TombAFK> I'm not watching a video rn but I want to point out the date on these things
<MrAnakinSpecter> is he wearing his trenchcoat and cowboy hat
<TombAFK> Less than a year ago, although not by much
<MrAnakinSpecter> yeah 2018 is too close to the present for me to be comfortable with these things
<TombAFK> Point is, while people can change, it generally takes a while
<MrAnakinSpecter> "If there were a gun to my head on the matter, though, I'd have to identify as a centrist." i refuse to believe this isn't intentionally a stereotype thing christ
<MobileMagnus> So, nothing here is like....
<MobileMagnus> Molotov in the window.
<MobileMagnus> He's just a pretentious most likely white dude.
<TombAFK> oh, we're well over quota on those
<Modern_Erasmus> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yI35RdClDyw here's another video from december btw
<Modern_Erasmus> I don't think he's a bigot or anything, but he's remarkably shortsighted when it comes to privelege. This vid is basically a long rant about how he doesn't like identity politics and he's had it hard for being a radical centrist. And that privilege shouldn't matter, internal stuff should matter, etc
02:38:56: <Ard> RADICAL CENTRISM
02:39:21: <MrAnakinSpecter> tubular centrism
02:39:26: <MrAnakinSpecter> bodacious centrism
02:39:34: <rumetzen> >privilege shouldn't matter
02:39:37: <rumetzen> hey, we agree!

Here's another instance, from pixelatedharmony's PMs themselves, of site staff intentionally promoting select political views (sorry if this has already been shared)... also seems like a pre-Yurt recruitment pitch:
2019-06-07
<Roget> I'm also trying to get my reform agenda started up again, I had a nice chat with moose and xe inspired me to try and take a page out of Troy's book to get stuff done here
<TSATPWTCOTTTADC> Ooh. Nice. I'm only aware of your various idea for changing site navigation, some of which have been implemented already.
<TSATPWTCOTTTADC> What else do you want to reform?
<Roget> I want to change site navigation, I want to make collaborative pages a bigger part of the site, I want to make some individual staff positions and promote more women and lgbt people to mod
<Roget> I want us to update our css, and maybe even go off with the russians new site
<TSATPWTCOTTTADC> I've been pretty happy with UraniumEmpire's quick recent acclimatization to IO work and decisive actions on the subreddit. She's also shown good initiative as CO staff.
<Roget> UraniumEmpire is one of the people on my list
<Roget> I generally want to try to bring a new generation of staff in, I feel like our roster, especially at Mod, has been stagnant for awhile

There are likely several, several more instances of this in these logs.

One of the links that Modern_Erasmus shares is the answer sheet to a class of Junior staffers looking at possible promotion. They answer questions, are asked if it is ok for staff to see them, I'm guessing not expecting them to just shit on them (guess again). This document represents a certain class being considered around Feb 2019. Out of 10 applicants, 6 are members identified by @pixelatedharmony as members of the covert influencer group, Yurt. Not sure that means anything, just something I noticed. Not saying this was a coordinated thing, but hey, the Yurt is there, it would appear. And promotions are recommendations from higher up staff...

(A Google doc, I am not going to log in here, so just navigate around the darkened background and the notice, you aren't missing much.)

Some of the answers here are worth highlighting; some hilarious, some enlightening:
Why do you want to become staff?

"I felt like I should give back to the community." [ 🤮]
"Well... there's two different states of everything, consumer and creator..." [Nope, next]

What do you think you can bring to the staff team?

"I spent a few years of my life being a community organizer for my local fighting game community. If you are unfamiliar, those people tend to be rather aggressive, but I never once lost my cool when dealing with them as a Tournament Organizer."
"softness and understanding"
"My least favorite phrase? 'That probably won't work.'"

What are your greatest weaknesses?

"I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt more often than not, I suppose." - GabrielJade (didn't want to list his uncontrollable pedophilia)
"I over empathize. A lot. I'm a big softie at heart and I try to see the best in people no matter what the situation" - Uncle Nicolini, who has been tagged as a sex pest creep ITT
"That's an easy one and I'm not going to sugar coat it. I mentioned above that "I like to see things getting done."

What do you think are the best qualities of a good staff member, or are qualities we look for in staff members?
"An ability to think of how things will affect the core community in the long run is probably important. Without the long view it's easy to do lots of work that ends up... making things in the future more complicated than they should be." [I just thought this prophecy here was saturated in the irony of current events.]

What do you see as the biggest issue within the community at this time?

"Issues arising from that one knockoff site that cropped up following the June drama."
"Its toxicity"
(!... I don't think this person got promooted!)
"The culture of upvotes that the site has bred. There's nothing wrong with being successful, but being discredited for not having as many upvotes as Author X is disheartening to new authors and it makes them feel irrelevant. We are a collaborative writing site and it should really feel more like one around here." -Uncle Nicolini [now yer talkin' my language!... sad how quickly that sentiment seems to fade at the altitudes of the ruling class... like the oxygen levels]
"Satellite members of the community who have dramatically different views than core members. This has faded a lot since June, but there's still been activity there."
"I feel that this community in general can be a little too oppressive in its moderation."

What do you see as the biggest issue in staff at this time?

"A sense of mistrust within the community and staff."
"A tendency to invoke staff privileges"
"I think the handling of the [Psyantroos] case was handled somewhat poorly...
Later: The situation is something I know had a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes and I shoudln't make judgements about it from my position." ("
Taylor: Asked me to change their answer to the ‘problems within staff’ question - I told them I could not, but could record their caveat. It is recorded underneath their original answer, starting with ‘Later:’")

It is sad to see, e.g. UncleNicolini, a bright and promising author who has a pretty accurate finger on the pulse of the site, and then step into the staff to be digested and become part of the greater digestive tissue. You guys forgot where you came from.

On that note, I have not been able to corroborate pixelatedharmony's claim about DrMagnus mentioning the excess funds from the gofundme to be a slush for Project Foundation. (Yet?) But maybe 10% of the potentially relevant dialogue has been carefully combed through. I also was unable to find any meaningful material on mlister + the foreknowledge of SadXaio/SaX as a pedo. Although, there are plenty of instances of staff referring to it in hushed terms, like "what a way to go" and "glad he's gone now" and "I have a cousin who is about 13, I would hurt anyone who touched her wrong". Stuff like that, but no smoking guns.

I did find this:
Also I don't know if this is already known, but yeah pixelatedharmony is 100% Roget. Earlier today they were sending the RPC admins Roget written articles and saying they could transfer them to their site to piss off the SCP leadership or whatever. Dunno if this was some secret where they'll run off and stop spilling logs if its known, but yeah.
No I'm pretty sure it's confirmed Caro sent nudes to multiple RPC admins, but CFO had already given her admin at the time. I think she did it just for attention. Caro appears to be a serial liar, if nothing else, so it's extremely hard to confirm what exactly her intentions where
I was about to edit my message but I'll just put it here: Caro is, in general, just a very weird and enigmatic individual. No one, not roget, not her friends, not the RPC admins knows what was going through their head when they were head admin at RPC. It's just as likely the Tylenol suicide incident was some bizarre lie copout so they'd have an excuse to leave before she was under too much of a spotlight and these logs started to leak out.

As a side note, I have seen her nudes, theres no doubt she sent those types of images to CFO & others. I'm only questioning whether or not they are real, considering Caro's pathological lying and the low res of the image + no face but thats sort of a given with any nudes if you're not a dumbass.

Rogret evolved into Rogrette aka pixelatedharmony (now ITT). She asked for all her works to be deleted, cause that was sort of the unspoken rules, if an author wanted it. Staff said no and now are dancing through their usual bureaucracy to mask their true intentions.
Personally, I think if there's a CC license allowing it, you shouldn't allow one contributor to wreck a project by just simply revoking what is essentially an irrevocable license.

However, I love the hypocrisy where they're refusing to do for @pixelatedharmony what they have done for other contributors, and even inventing new procedures for fucking her over. Congratulations, assholes. You've really shown your true colors.

Nobody actually cares about the copyright technicalities and licensing shit.

We do care, however, about your absolute failure to maintain anything resembling moral consistency.

They had to gatekeep to keep garbage articles off the site, but eventually the rating module became more than a device for quality control, and that was when most of the problems started. I'm not super familiar with RPC, but the star-rating system they have seems like a better way of filtering out bad articles.
No, the RPC star rating system is very bad. As it turns out, the more options + community hugbox results in most people giving anything above 5th grade level 3 stars, usually for reasons like "Well, its filled with incoherent grammar mistakes and borderline rambling paragraphs... but, I like the concept and effort! 3 stars"

Since the deletion ratio is 2.5 this results in most of these articles barely staying on the site.

Just in general if you're looking for a good alternative for SCP, RPC is not it. The more you look into it, the more you realize its not the cool edgy version of SCP a lot of people make it out to be but more of this weird hugbox community where everyone's too afraid to give any real criticism to each other and the admin runs it like a fascist dictatorship, purging anyone who questions the status quo or tries to move them past the stone age.

If you wanna see what I mean with this "hugboxing" being too nice stuff, I recall an incident where an admin failed to report odd pedophilic behavior to the other admins because he felt that the guy was "ESL" and "Just trying to express himself!". He was later revealed to be attracted to toddlers.

They aren't removing Rogets articles because that would be the end of SCP. Roget is like fishmonger on steroids, he has written so many articles that its difficult to wrap my head around it. I think something like 10% of the total content on the site was written by him?
Edit: It wouldn't literally be the end of SCP but he's written enough articles of sufficient notoriety that it would look very bad for the site.

Just use reverse image search, if they're low res it probably means she copied them from a repository on the internet

Lmao Roget is sort of like the me of SCP, a ludicrously prolific asshole. Imagine if I went full retard and demanded all my posts be deleted. They're mostly absolute shit. Still, imagine the retardation that would erupt. I would never, ever do that. But imagine the hilarity!

I wrote 160 SCPs and a little under a hundred tales and a handful of other pages. It was 2% back in the Series II days and people just never stopped saying it.

Here’s Kaktus thumbing his nose at the INT branches for defying him and not instantly having ACS and Black Highlighter be popular in their corners of the community, because if you defy the dogma of #upvotedjkaktus you are a malicious voter who must be purged.

Reminds me that I needed to post proof for something I talked about a long time ago in an old post. It's old news but now that you mention it....
By the way, this isn’t even the only time I’ve tried to report stuff to the Anti-Harassment Team just to see it go nowhere. About 6 weeks ago I sent the Anti-Harassment Team evidence that a moderator had manipulated someone into a false friendship to spy on them in private and then exploited this position for sexual gain. Maybe I’ll post it here if I don’t get a reply after this post goes up.

A year ago at this point, I wrote a callout post for Nico (mostly about the sexual harassment I experienced from him) which got amended after I learned some other details. A long time ago, I had some big conflict with another person in the SCP community that doesn't need to be discussed. One of the first people I talked to about it was Nico, since he seemed to notice that I was upset about something. Unbeknownst to me for quite a while, he faked a friendship with the other person to get close to him and spy on his private server. I only found out when I noticed that he had used one of the emojis from the server in a separate Discord chat. To be clear, this was not okay, especially considering that Nico was a junior staff member at the time. It was not okay for him to do it, especially without telling me, and it was not okay for me to stay silent after I found out, regardless of how stressed I felt at the time. What takes this situation from shitty to downright manipulative is that I found out that during this time, Nico was sexting the other person's then-girlfriend. As far as I can tell, whoever was supposed to discuss this with AH ignored me.

This doesn't really surprise me. Pretty much everything I heard around that time suggested that a bunch of IRC users were aware that Sax had a habit of doing sketchy shit but no one had actually taken the time to investigate it. I don't have any screenshot proof of the conversation but apparently he'd sent an unwanted dick pic before and the case was dismissed because the recipient felt it was a genuine accident.

I do have lots of logs of the SCP IRC rpg games sax bright and others participated in

<MobileMagnus> We can't keep someone from.being staff for having unfortunate political inclinations.
<TombAFK> what the fuck
<MobileMagnus> I mean, we can, but wtf.
For once, I agree completely with Magnus.
Here's another instance, from pixelatedharmony's PMs themselves, of site staff intentionally promoting select political views
I wouldn't call being a woman/queer a political view, which is all this seems to be, though I think promoting minorities for the sake of promoting minorities rather than because they're valuable contributors is dumb.
I think pixelatedharmony is right here.
There's probably some valuable stuff in there, but I don't really know where to start now that I'm out of specific names, and a lot of it seems too old to be worth talking about. A bunch of these PM logs are of people who disappeared off the face of the site years ago, so I'm not sure how much I could get from those except dead drama.
They aren't removing Rogets articles because that would be the end of SCP.
No it wouldn't. 300 pages is a lot, and some of those are quite good and have other articles written based on them, but there's something like 10000 articles now, so the community could absolutely recover and fill in the gaps.

Outside of a few posts from something like half a year ago, Nico has thus far avoided discussion on here by virtue of being surrounded by people who are much more overtly shitty, but I'm not surprised that he's been doing stuff like this in the background. He always seemed unstable from what I remember of him.

Just a side note, but I usually do a search for “scp kiwifarms” to find the thread directly and yesterday I found this. (Archive.)
I guess someone is trying to warn people about Bright, but that website doesn’t appear to have been updated in a while.
Funnily enough, this almost reads like an SCP article. Nothing major seems to have happened with Bright since his "retirement", so this is probably still a fairly accurate summary of why he was a problem.

I haven't seen anything more exploitative and disgusting... Like ever. The fucking disrespect for somebody else's mental health and the entire clusterfuck surrounding them to make a shitty point... And it's just, not even good.

I don't have anything against the author, but seeing people like this is horrifying. To what degree do they have to dissociate themselves from a "former friend" to even begin to appreciate this? Not only that, comparing Harmony to 682 is outright disgustingly delegitimizing of their identity and intent. I genuinely didn't believe this would fly ever in the SCP community, but it fucking did.

It's astounding that it got past deletion. Not only is it a morally wrong article, but it's also just plain shitty, fake emotional shlock.

Well hey hey woah woah somebody's gotta cash in some kinda upvotes from this somehow. You can't ask the filter-feeders and bottom-dwellers to just let this whale fall go to waste! Slap 682 on that, and she's good to go for +50 in 24 hrs!

Edit: Something tells me this wasn't greenlit.

"Does more to humanize Harmony"
"It invites the reader to imagine themselves in her shoes"

These people are smoking crack. Even for bottom feeders, this is the kind of scum a real bottom feeder wouldn't touch. The fucking balls you'd need to have to pretend you can understand what's going on in the head of someone who hates you, and to go a step further and try to get OTHER people to pretend to understand it, would be absolutely massive.
