Wow, this really blew up fast. However, I'm pretty sure those who have followed this thread long-term aren't surprised to see definitive proof that LaBelle is as degenerate as suspected (if not more so).
Ironic considering that a lot of French Canadians are very hostile towards the English language and will outright refuse to speak it (it was banned for years in Canada
From my experience from years ago, people from Quebec save their anti-English hostility for other Canadians for the most part. At the time, they were more willing to try to speak English (no matter how broken) to people they knew were from the US. As a duo once told my parents, "You from States, we try speak English. If you from Canada, we ignore you."
I think originally it was supposed to be for kids, it’s just that Billy has no idea what kids are actually like.
AM arguably started as a kid/teen friendly comic. The concept isn't terrible, having a trans kid do kid things, with some education surrounding LGBT issues. It could work if written by someone with talent - the type of comic that would appeal to LGBT kids and families as well as "normal" kids.
I had the impression it was supposed to be for kids/teens who didn't feel comfortable coming out as transgendered before it become more of a soapbox for LaBelle to sperg their personal opinions.
I agree that the concept would have worked with someone who was competent and knew how to relate to a broader target audience. After all, there are also people who likely know someone transgendered and feel unsure about how to treat or accept the latter like any other person they know. Instead, LaBelle chose to get too personally attached to the characters and story line and branded all disagreement and constructive criticism as hate, -ist or -phobic.
With Labelle, it was obvious from the earlier strips that something was up. He had a disturbing focus on children's genitals in his writing and drew many comics displaying his seemingly-underage characters in, shall we say, compromising poses. And now, with his new adult comic, his kink is out in the open.
As others already mentioned we have classic examples of this with the early mentions of girl penis, girldick, and the infamous pee-through clitoris. With the characters supposedly being as young as they were, this came off as very creepy because most kids that age don't talk about genitals and sexuality that way unless they've been abused or groomed.
I also think LaBelle made a big mistake in making it too easy for people to link the adult comic to their existing work. As we see countless times here, people make it too easy to find their content across multiple accounts and platforms because they care little about opsec and infosec.
The idea of "coming out" with your fetishes is ludicrous. Everyone's got at least one and you aren't special for having them. The difference is that the guy at the grocery store doesn't feel the need to tell you about how he likes to be pissed on,
Most people that have particular turn-ons, kinks, and fetishes know enough to be discreet about them. It's one thing to discuss it or confide in a trusted friend who might share the same fetish or won't blab what's shared in confidence, but the point still stands that the average person has enough of a filter to
not share their fetishes to anyone and everyone with whom they interact.
I can respect trans folk, but she's a TERRIBLE representative for them.
I think most can feel empathy for people who feel they were born in the wrong body and wish they could be the opposite gender to make life easier. People such as LaBelle do little more than put on an act. They put on clothing of the opposite gender and feel it's enough to make them some sort of authority figure whose opinions are now infallible truths. It truly does make it harder for those who believe themselves transgendered and want to be accepted as any other person without regard to who or what they are.
strange how her patreon jumped from 1084 to 1089 throughout this whole thing. Pity bucks?
In addition to a previous response that speculated that it could be degenerates who enjoy the new content, it could also be white knights who feel LaBelle is being bullied/misunderstood and deserves their financial support as a show of solidarity.
Somebody should save that screencap from slingblade/TransEthics stating screenshots can be faked. Slingblade is notorious for posting screenshots of people they want cancelled, so they're one of the last persons that should be making that claim unironically.
