I could be wrong here, but a case that has been dismissed with prejudice can still be appealed all the way to the SCOTUS if needed assuming the claimants have the money and lawyers necessary for said appeal, IIRC.

Theoretically, yes. However, I doubt this would be dismissed with prejudice outright because it creates a very clear constitutional question, namely a possible 10 A violation.

Makes me wonder if that thing about the probable ruling on the ACA really did get leaked and they found blackmail to make him change it to the absurd reasoning it was upheld on. You clearly didn't tune in to popular progressive outlets in 2015 and otherwise ignore decisions that run counter to your retarded assertions.

Roberts is a conservacuck who, while having a tendency to support the occasional socially left wing ruling, has for the most part remained fairly consistent in his judicial philosophy. Just because the right wing of the Supreme Court has increasingly skewed rightwards doesn't make him any less of an old fashioned conservative.

The ACA is a mixed bag decision that clearly stems from his obsession with trying to keep the Supreme Court apolitical, which creates absurd results of its own but I digress. I will always be thankful to him that he didn't adopt the government's main position in Sibelius that the Commerce Clause permits the Congress to force people to participate in a market, because he's demonstrated throughout his career to be a staunch proponent of rolling back the Commerce Clause, and for that alone I support him.
