Here's to 1,000 pages of doomposting, hype, rrats, celebration, tourists asking the same bait question, etc. And to 1,000 more!

"Vtuber" probably isn't the first thing that people think about when someone mentions Kiwi Farms, but here we are. I'm just wondering: has this thread been mentioned somewhere? Is it being used somewhere else as a some sort of reference or to gauge the reaction to an event/character/publicity stunt/whatever? The go-to answer is "no", but who knows who lurks here. And there are a lot of lurkers, if this big "3M" is to be believed. I am also wondering has Josh noticed this thread, not really fitting the rest of the forums, and is he annoyed about its existence or just doesn't give a fuck. Or does he superchat Korone and Rushia in secret.

Wasn't Sun Tzu chinese? How are they so fucking bad at this.
Yeah, but the Chinese, and everyone else in the world, massively overplay his importance. Seriously, they act like they invented supply lines and everyone else owes them for that. No Chen, the Romans figured it out without reading The Art of War. If you actually read TAoW, and have any background whatsoever in any form of RTS, you would be incredibly bored. Sun Tsu (who might have been multiple people from one take I read), was essentially compiling the most basic common knowledge items a military leader needs to take into account.

From what I can tell (and it was also put forth in that same history), the work was more of a guide for political leaders so they understood what the fuck was going on in the war-room and why they should just trust their generals to win. The problem with modern Chinese military strategy is that they are so engrossed in these basic concepts they are turning into WWI Germany where they have a thousand and one PPRs that go to shit when a screw comes loose. Look at the Coco-anti posts, language, and actions. . . they are as innovative as a fucking sea-cucumber.
for the record, wasn't trying to defend those people, there's a lot of fucked up shit most people never see on a surface level, and there are two sides to every story, so who knows really. least she's back in japan now.
I know, but that behavior is just anathema for my family. Guest-Rite is a thing in some communities still.
Some people think it's because Japanese people have a predilection for urban fantasy and horror.
They would love World of Darkness I would think,

I think it can be strongly-correlated to a spike in google-searches related to vtubers and "their roommates" when vtubing became more exposed to mainstream western audiences. Links to this kiwifarm thread often appears as one of the results within the first few pages depending on the specificity of the search. Which makes sense since this thread has pretty much been a buffet of doomposting and actual useful info on the chuubas, their streams and most related topics & issues.

And before that Record of Lodoss War.
TSR could have wrapped up the entire Japanese market if only they'd accepted the offer to license Lodoss and make it an official campaign setting. Not to mention having a source of pre-weebified D&D content to sell to the manchildren of today...

As soy as modern WotC is, I'm glad they bought out TSR because that company seemed almost hellbent on sabotaging itself.

Turkey defends her master from the other two ungratefuls.

Interesting, so according to this, ID gen 1 has met with YAGOO irl.

Kiriku clip for the JP-ID moment:

Nice, that's probably the highest she can get to Master because the split is coming soon.

Yeah, it will take a miracle for her to reach Master rank in approximately 2 days. Let alone reaching it on-stream like Astel did who reached it earlier with his team.

Congratz for her though for solo to Diamond 1, the highest rank she ever get on-stream.

Damn that was pretty good.

I sorta hate how you get some really good songs and channels but so many videos get played that you can easily miss a gem or two. Some of these channels have less than 100 subs and have been releasing videos for months. Either japanese music scene is oversaturated or due to moon runes, no one outside of a handful of japanese viewers will ever listen to these.
There is a playlist of all the songs floating around, so that's not a problem!

I look around a bit on the other boards. We aren't really that off-kilter, except for the general niceties that go around. . . but that might be because the other hot topics create a greater breeding ground for 13-yearold edgelords, failed SJWs looking for their hill to die on, and post-prime alcoholics who think being a gym-teacher makes them a 'shaper-of-young-minds.' Fact is, only the saddest and wretched of that bunch would actually come here to stir trouble. . . because. . . your taking the fight to the fucking VTuber thread. . . that is some Italy invading Ethiopia levels of desperation for validation.

She ended talking about the math and hours required. I don't doubt she can make it with a bit of luck. After having kept these past few streams on in the background (and now having a pretty good understanding of APEX), she has the personal skill. Her solid-snake venture was fucking brilliant and after she learned to go that route when her team fucks up and dies, she gained points at an accelerated rate. It's like watching an actual anime protagonist. Probably setting up a RedBull IV for tomorrow.

wouldn't put it past any that can read english and know enough about internet culture like coco to follow it to some degree, the amount of aggregation can't be understated. as much as fun/cringe following shitposting on /vt/ or reddit can be, it's also a lot of background noise to sift through.

as for nool, doubt he cares as long as no one spergs out too hard, and given a&n is still up we'd really need to sperg hard.

didn't notice it during the reveal, but in action the new face reminds me of this:

oh god now I wonder how pika would react to weed. chilling hard and turning into a giggling couch potato or genki 2 the max (considering her baseline)?

going by what people told later, that pretty much was lorraine william's goal.

Hoshikawa and Deron love consultation collab finally got an animated highlight, in which they complained about how a dense love interest missed all the hint while Deron being a dense love interest and missed all the hints Hoshikawa threw at her like a thirsty woman. With a slight dash of narcissism.
Seeing chibi Hoshikawa gradually lost her smug against Deron's iron defense was a breath of fresh air.

Ollie had a major major yab in a member stream yesterday. She forgot to mute/disable her phone notifications while mirroring something on her phone to the stream, and a notif popped up showing the sender's phone number. She immediately closed and privated the stream in panic, and continued in a new stream.

Could have been a family member's or a friend's number, or even some HoloID's number considering gen2 had a sleepover/offcollab just one day later. Doesn't appear to have resulted in anything bad afterwards, though, and the second member stream continued as normal for a couple hours, so maybe it was some unrelated number.

She verified careless but not the same level as Nene. Hope no retards screenshoot it or she will doom and we have some doomposting topic to save for another day.

Yeah. It was only on for a split second and she privated the stream quickly, and I haven't seen any screenshots of it floating around. The stream did not have many viewers at that point, only a few hundred, so the chance of there being a printscreen speed god was low. Zombie memberships have very little anti presence, so this yab was likely buried successfully, but hot damn she must have gotten slapped by her manager afterwards.

I just realized, since hololive has permission to play Sega games, what is stopping Subaru from playing Alien Isolation. She already did the Aliens stream months ago.

Thank you for clarifying. I know you mentioned him before, but I didn't know he confirmed the contest thing.

Before anyone asks, Pochi is indeed a woman.

Kadokawa licenses it from Chaosium and it's actually one of the biggest TRPGs in Japan. It's a good fit since Japanese players are really big on single session one-shots rather than on-going campaigns.
Interesting, didn't know either of those things.
Yes. Actually a lot of Japanese media was. Allegedly a lot of the foundations of the Nasuverse spun out of a series of World of Darkness games Kinoko Nasu played during the 90s.

And therein is kind of a clue as to why TRPGs were so niche - the dice. Until the advent of online shipping, getting a hold of a set of polyhedral dice to play most of the games was nearly impossible in Japan (for reference, even in the 90s I could walk into most major bookstores in the US and get a set). You could find standard six-sided dice to play games like WoD or Sword World, but playing something like CoC or D&D was out of the question. Then in the 2000s, possibly encouraged in part by resurgence of interest in TRPGs in the west (with the 3rd edition of D&D and the OGL) and in part by an increasing awareness of the hobby in otaku subculture, more people started taking to it.

Fun fact: Similar to how we have tourists in the west who exclusively consume TRPG content through shows like Critical Role or The Adventure Zone, there's long been a 'Replay' culture in Japan wherein most people with awareness of the hobby consume it via transcribed game sessions with illustrations.
Some of these I was aware of, like Record of Lodoss War. I wonder how people watch these longplays though, I can't stand critical role despite having played trpgs. I don't know what it is, but every person on that show chooses to roleplay in the most obnoxious way possible. I tried several times to watch it, choosing several different campaigns with different guests, figuring that maybe one set was just bad and I still couldn't watch more than 5 minutes. Is it just me?
