I need to find this, That's same maker of King Sue a top 5 ever of mine. All their other stuff is killer, i love me sours too.

Tonight a 3 year old "blithering idiot" from weyerbacher, opened with a PM makarov. Because so much bad news today, I needed a drink. They age well, and it started at 11.1% Basso's only hurting on the inside anymore.
 
Lately I've been binging on Victory Golden Monkey. I like Belgians and for my money it's the most reasonably priced and tasty amero-belgian you're going to get in a 12 pack.

I've been drinking a lot of MapleMoon recently. It's a lovely amber ale flavoured with maple syrup brewed by the wonderful folks at Joseph Holt and seems to sell pretty well as it has periods of being unavailable in every ASDA in Manchester, so when I find it, I tend to buy a lot.
 
I could be alone here, but something I absolutely love are raspberries in beer. Put any kind of raspberry beer in front of me, from the tartest fresh berry flavor lambic to the most sugary sweet "we just backed a dumptruck full of raspberry puree mixed with lactose sugar into the fermentation tank" and everything in between.

Fucking love that shit.

Lindeman's Framboise lambic is great, and there was a raspberry truffle dessert beer of some sort that came through my liquor store a little while back (pissed that I missed it, I chose the pineapple upside-down cake dessert beer instead - was good)

My all time favorite in that category is Founder's Blushing Monk. I know it's an overpriced four pack but goddamn is that shit good.

Only things I really miss about not drinking is cider and beer. I just really love the taste. My favourite beer was Cascade Premium Light. Das a good beer.

Ahh fair dues, I've no idea what IBU is considered what, all I know is if the beer's good or not.

Total agreement though. I do love a good Brown ale. Have you had a Crafty Hen yet?

An IBU measures the 'hoppiness' of a beer. It's a wanky term and I'm glad out of all the esoteric things you know it's not one of them. I've not tried a Crafty Hen? Most of the beer I drink is Australian craft beer but I think with Autumn coming up I might try to get into some British beers as the bitters and ales in particular have a nice maltiness that I'm craving.

You'll love it, it's a strong, malty variant of Old Speckled Hen.

I'd also recommend Manchester Brown, Maple Moon, Wolf Rock, Trooper Beer, Lancaster Red and Guinness West Indies Porter as decent British beers.

I'll try looking for those but I have to say Australian beer truly has been an American IPA haven for some time. I've had people mock me at beer festivals because the IBU of the beer I drunk wasn't high enough.

For my local Melbourne beers I'd recommend Moon Dog & Stomping Ground.

But again, unless it's a famous international macro beer I find a lot of beers don't travel that often. Which is sad.


Fun fact, the most drunk beer in the world is the Chinese beer 'snow'. Anyone else drunk this? Pretty watery but okay for summer I guess.

My father-in-law got me a couple of cans of this to go with our Good Friday chippy tea. It is pretty good actually.
