LegalEagle is bad even by the standards of youtube lawyers. Which is... really saying something.

To summarize the peak of his stupidity: He tried to sue the government for sending him information in a FOIA request that didn't say what he wanted it to say, so he sued to make them say what he wanted to say. It was thrown out.
Yeah, I don't really watch that part of his channel; mostly because it's usually a hot take on current events.

there already isn't much left. the media isn't gonna show you what shit really looks like. they have to pretend shit was peaceful. the popeye's on lake street is graffitid plywood on all four sides and half the buildings have giant signs that say "kids live here dont burn". there was no peace.
Funny. My local news showed footage of the protests and riot all the fucking time, uncensored.
So did these:
Doesn't seem to me like they're trying to hide anything. In fact, showing this footage probably raked in a shitload more viewers than they would have gotten ever repressing it.
They showed it hour by hour.

Why does it always seem like the ones who shit on the "mainstream media" so often never seem to be the ones who actually watch it to know exactly what the fuck they're talking about?

This was posted much, much earlier, but look at the obscene level of detail the media has been allowed to publish about the jurors. I think #2 and #118 are particularly bad, but also 55, 27 and 19. Why should we know or care whether they are married, their religion, what sports they play, or what kind of dogs they have? I’ve never heard of anything like this before, and wonder if it’s unique to the USA.

Got a link to that? Sounds hilarious.

if by good witness you mean an obnoxious cunt with a savior complex salty that cops didn't let her intervene while off duty during an arrest and who didn't kmow the police had already called for medics, all the while rolling her eyes at questioning to the point of getting lectured on courtroom ediquitte, then yeah she's amazing:lit:

I thought she came off better than Miss Dispatcher who has never been a first responder, Miss Gas Station Attendant who obviously would rather be anywhere else, or any of the four minors who talked about how sad it all made them.

I wasn't super impressed with the MMA guy. He seemed very high on his own farts and very eager to advance his own ideas that went counter to the prosecution. Chauvin would have seen that he was wearing a boxing club hoodie and he's obviously a sturdy guy. I wonder if the defense attorney let him run his mouth because the idea that he and Thao were talking shit and laying hands on each other lets people maybe fill in the idea that Chauvin was watching them in case Thao needed a wingman.

Part of me wants to kick the firefighter under the bus, but I think it's also smart for the defense to let the witnesses be real about how they felt in the moment while also getting them to admit that they didn't have the full set of facts. I can hate her later, but I am interested in what tomorrow will bring.

Watch the defense's opening. It's 24 minutes and it's worth your time.

The defense hasn't had a good chance to ramp up their argument yet. There have been 7 people who have completed their testimony in the last two days, and one of them was the 911 dispatcher, 1 worked at the gas station across the street, 1 was the MMA guy, and 4 were minors. You can't exactly drill into a 9-year-old so the defense attorney wisely decided not to cross-examine her.

The Big Tiddy Goth FF GF was just barely getting under the cross when the trial ended for the day and the judge told her to cooperate. She's probably home seething right now. The thing will start with her back on the stand for more defense questioning tomorrow. She seems like a good witness but also the first one where the defense can really sink its teeth.

To answer your question, I think the defense is going to push hard on the drug angle with a sharp eye to the timeline and to getting witnesses to admit that they didn't know everything that was happening. By the time Chauvin got there, Floyd was hulking out and everyone thought they were dealing with PCP tard strength with a side of excited delerium, but--lo and behold!--12 minutes later he was dead from a fatal overdose that nobody could have foreseen.

And to answer @theshitposter , I think the defense is pushing the "restless crowd" angle to give the impression that it was a chaotic scene with a lot of moving pieces, so even though it looks like Chauvin was nonchalant, the number of minutes where he was kneeling on the neck of an unconscious man was much closer to three than ten.
Currently they are just bullshitting around. The real make or break issues are "the cause of mr. floyd's death" and "whether mr. chauvin was acting according to the standards of police training". And no matter how much you scream "excited delirium" & "size of the perp", "past criminal history", no lawyer can defend kneeling on the neck of a handcuffed, passed out guy which eventually resulted in his death.

Well, Chauvin should thank god that's not what happened, then.

Here's the thing, the current press is by the prosecution. They are the ones trying to set up things other than the cause of death. It's worth thinking about why the defense would feel the need to go around the thing they need to prove.

Defense, or Prosecution?

Defense, or Prosecution?
Prosecution. The prosecution brought those witnesses up to testify about things other than how Chauvin died. The prosecution brought up witnesses to claim how everyone was afraid.

All the defense did was tear that apart with one witness and allow the rest to pass. They have only responded to what the prosecution brought up.

I know defence witnesses would come after the prosecution. Duh. My point is it's useless for the audience to dissect the current bs. Everything relevant was on the video.

And? What we have on video is on thersurface damning, but the defense claim (and the toxicology report) is that Floyd OD'd. The knee is irrelevant to his death, it didn't cause it... according to the autopsy. The dude was as good as dead before any cop even touched him.

For all their activism, the zoomers on TikTok aren't paying much attention. Seeing more excuses being made not to watch it.

"Blahblah, when does the looting starts again?"

Like bitch after all that you people did you have the nerve to not watch the fucking trial? might as well let the cop walk since you care so little about the justice you were so desperate to obtain

Yes. Let the trial reach that stage.

LegalEagle is a hack who doesn't know even basic legal facts that don't fit his -heavily- biased narrative.
Also LegalEagle is a civil attorney who specializes in corporate law and being a shill for corporations when they get sued as I recall him stating and which is why he lives in Washington DC to be a shill for corporations. Why anyone takes his words as fact when it comes to criminal matters is beyond me. He's as much of an expert on criminal law as anyone who isn't a criminal lawyer here would know. To me the guy is just a massive fucking grifter who only hopped on this anti-conservative shitlib train because his "Lawyer reacts to Legal Scenes in Movies" was getting stale and boring. This George Floyd Trial Stuff must be a God Send for him since now he can act as expert there too with tons of videos to use.
