This is what the US Constitution says:

"In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the State and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the Assistance of Counsel for his defence."

This is typically interpreted in part to mean that you're entitled to a "jury of your peers." There's been back and forth on this, but the general idea is that you can't have Nyquil Weems tried by a jury of 12 80-year-old white men and so forth. You want as close to a random cross-section of normies as possible.

Everyone seems to be certain he gets convicted: BLM riots. He gets acquired: BLM riots. The question to be asking is how wide spread the riots are going to be in either case.

As widespread as Summer 2020, but not lasting anywhere close as long with Copmala in office.

I reckon the defense didn’t want to come across as cruel in the jury’s eyes. The old man was so emotional that going at him would’ve probably hurt their case because he would’ve been a blubbering mess.
Also his testimony was good for them. He said everything they would have wanted him to say, and it was the defense who got it from him. Why ruin perfection?

I don't know why it's a surprise to anyone that the guy who spent 9 fewer years in the American public educational system is more articulate than the rest of the witnesses.
He's a shitload more intelligent than someone who spends six figures on a degree so they can earn 40k a year.
Shit happens and they don't kick kids out of school that early, that's some neglectful parenting and a state that didn't care about him.

Honestly I don't think there's enough air left in that tire to ride very long. People are more sick of the covid shit than anything, and at least here where winter drags on forever, people most likely will just want to hang out and take advantage of the weather peacefully. I've heard of no spontaneous unrest here in MKE recently, and over the summer it was constrained to a few marches and some confrontations with cops, that's about it.

edit: also that's a damn nice bodega there, that Cup Foods; what with the awning and neon and shit... I was thinking it'd look more like this:

Could someone post a "TL;DR" on the various witnesses? I'm currently unable to watch the testimonies myself, so a briefing on what has occurred during the last hours would be useful, my inquisitive friends.
So the plaintiffs have thusfar brought to the table: 1. A nine year old girl in an extremely tasteless and hamhanded attempt to tug on heartstrings, 2) a seething "nurse" who loooks lik a loaf of bread with legs, and had to literally be told off by the judge 3. A store clerk who doesn't know his asshole from his armpit and...?
A genuinely nice old man with no brain smarts but street smarts who just wanted to tell Floyd to calm the fuck down.

Each and everyone of these hurt putting away The cop in all honestly. Its kinda hilarious

Yeah, you can basically get out of any Jury Duty if you say you are aware of Jury Nullification I've heard. It's not supposed to be mentioned to jurors by anyone I believe.
Can the jury do it if they don't know it's an option? Like go through a series of actions that amount to a Jury Nullification. It'd be hard but not impossible to use if you filtered out anyone who was aware of it.

Or do they need to formally invoke it by name, so if they didn't know about it going in its impossible to use?

How would people get caught knowing about it anyways? Can you ask about it when doing Jury selection without mentioning it by name?
