Not quite.
This "modern left" always existed and it is called Champaigne Socialism. They hate the working class for being too dumb to follow their enlightened teaching.
And working class people hate them way harder.
Truth is, working class leftists are too busy working and/or unionizing to make hour-long videos or obsessive tweets over the left-leaning or problematic elements of Disney movies - these are the shit they watch to unwind, after a long day's work.
Similarly, Working class centrists and conservatives see champaigne socialism as a clownshow indicative of how deluded the left is and they would go for populist rightwingers like Trump over a rich twat that loves the niggers, the trannies and the chinks as long as this costs them nothing.
I mean, back in 1980, the anarchist left punk band The Dead Kennedys wrote a song mocking these people, called Holiday in Cambodia
Just take a look at the lyrics.
The fact that these clowns are visible because youtube doesn't mean they are not just a small piece of the left.
Back then, the champagne socialists mostly tried to get the white working class to support them. In fact, for a good while, up until the second half of the Obama years, the Democrats were considered the party of the working class and despite some far-left people mocking them, they still mostly supported the Democrats over the likes of George Bush II and Mitt Romney. It was during the Trump era when Trump's rhetoric of bringing back jobs to America lured many white working class people to the Republican side did the left finally turn against them fully, calling them racist, sexist bigots.
What are these lines? I only remember A:TLA having to deal with censors at Nickelodeon, which led to things like Zuko walking in on Sokka waiting for Suki in a tent and Korrasami being its most overt in the last scene of the last episode and needing a comic to develop it further. And then there was Aang's struggle in having to kill Ozai that made up the series finale.
If Avatar was an anime, Zuko would have walked in on a naked Suki and get punched/slapped for his trouble. Korrasami would have lots of lesbian cheesecake between Asami and Korra. And Aang would have killed Ozai, just as Domon Kasshu from G Gundam had no qualms about killing his master, Master Asia/Shuuji Kurosu, even though it hurt him a lot emotionally. Aang had problems killing a warlord who massacred his people. Domon killed a man whom he loved like a father just because that man was serving the wrong side.
The whole "no kill" code (which Last Airbender has) is a very artificial thing imposed upon western shows because censors from the 80s and 90s get queasy whenever the heroes kill someone, whereas anime has this very "classic" sense of justice where yes, they will kill the bad guy, even people like Kira Yamato (of Gundam SEED fame) who work for peacemakers like Lacus Clyne do fight and pile up body after body in order to attain that peace. Quite frankly, if Avatar was being true to its Eastern roots, Aang would have killed Ozai, especially in that bit when Avatar State Aang talks about the crimes that Ozai and his forefathers committed against the land. It won't even count as revenge, but rather, be an example of cosmic justice.
That's the difference between the East and the West in children's entertainment. The Western cartoons stretch the Christian principle of "love thy enemies" to an extent where even the original Christians would consider it ridiculous (they had no problems killing barbarian invaders even when the Roman Emperors were still pagan, they had no problems waging a civil war to wrest control of the Roman Empire from the pagans, and they would have executed the Joker or Fire Lord Ozai with no problems on their conscience) whereas the East still has that very "Clint Eastwood" sense of justice where they will kill the bad guy and keep on going. Even a kid like Goku from classic Dragon Ball had no problems eradicating the Red Ribbon Army or killing King Piccolo.
I agree.
She's the Old Guard form of liberalism which today is seen as centralist by leftist.
That's how these wackjobs work
People should have learned their lesson from the French Revolution. To the leftists, you can never be leftist enough. The Revolutionaries at first thought that just making a constitutional monarchy would be enough. But the mob wanted more. They wanted no kings, they wanted dead nobles and churchmen, and they wanted the peasants who stuck to their traditions to also die. The same goes here. People who were once the old guard among leftists are now one step away from being condemned as fascists or Nazis because they didn't go with everything the Left preaches. Old-school feminists from the Second Wave of Feminism were useful to the leftists in getting a lot of crap passed and attacking traditional family roles, but once these feminists' hatred of transsexuals became inconvenient for the Left, they were seen as verboten.
Nostalgia Chick, being an old-school feminist, is now in the process of finding out that she will be counted among the politically incorrect for not going along with everything the Left comes out with. Just like how many SW fans who didn't like the Sequel Trilogy are now considered Alt-Right by the media and the left, so too did Lindsay earn the Left's hatred for not going along with their Asian-esque films.
