nah I never played MCPVP and I never hacked or got blacklisted on Munchy. Idk who Fuckwad is, but there's a good chance I know them ingame. There's not many people who played MCPVP back then, and got unblacklisted before Dream blew up on youtube, so I know a lot of people it isn't... but I'm not sure who he is.

I wouldn't call it defending him saying he acted out instead of admitting, or that he never even considered he'd made a mistake earlier. But I wouldn't call it attacking him either. People think he's maliciously cheated, but to me it just seems he was a prideful moron.

I knew him as a developer and admin because I played his server, but we weren't friends. We had and have mutual friends though.

We may just read into things differently but with his behavior and the circumstances surrounding the cheating it's pretty clear to me he did it with intent.

As for defending him, I'd say passing the buck to his mod dev sucking at QA and communication and saying Dream shifted mods around frequently is defending him. The latter is something he said to defend himself.
Saying he's just a super competitive guy who sticks within the rules to maintain the competition is also defending him, whether it's true or not.

I'm not trying to convince you that he cheated or anything, just saying you seem very one sided on the issue when it's pretty well established that Dream is an asshole who will try to tear someone down using his own "clout" as a defense mechanism instead of just defending himself and cooperating. The Minecraft speedrun mods had to put out the PDF because of how much of an asshole he is, knowing he wasn't going to take it very well.

Late reply, but I'm starting to see just how incompetent Dream actually is with anything do with "mods" and the like considering even though he's on Fabric he's still running OptiFine.

They're definitely not 100% "organic".

Came across Dream and his manhunt videos before the whole cheating controversy and watched a couple out of curiosity because the concept of "speedrunner vs pvp tryhards" sounded interesting.

Even someone like me who hasn't played Minecraft in over a decade can tell that there's a clear trend of Dream's "hunters" becoming completely retarded when Dream's health goes too low. Their accuracy drops to a point where they're missing basically all their shots even from an occasionally stationary Dream, their movements become scrambled and uncoordinated, etc.
There were a couple of parts where Dream went for a particularly risky play and his opponents ceased firing altogether until the "stunt" was done.

This was so obvious and consistent that it took out any entertainment of the potentially good concept.

I wouldn't say the videos are scripted from start to finish - but I'm convinced that the key moments are planned out at least to a degree. At the very least, Dream has a method of signaling his lackeys when he's actually close to death, prompting them to start playing like bots to make sure that Dream comes out of the scenario looking good and they don't.

This is even more plausible to me now that I know about the Dream's ego. One thing I'll give the guy though is that he's not too bad at staging, as long as the audience consists of kids and not speedrunner autists.

In my opinion, the point is not in his fears about the possibility of persecution, but in some kind of personal complexes. I have some theory on this subject, but I am not sure that I can clearly and consistently formulate it.
But overall, I'm not surprised by the fact that Dream fans portray him as an attractive guy, given the way he talks about himself and his ostentatious self-confidence.
