What game did you finish today?

Splatterhouse (2010). Fun game, but still can't get over that cheap-ass cop-out shit of an ending.

Assassins Creed 4: Black Flag
The series has, with a few exceptions, been shit.
I gotta say though, fucking pirate ships, man. It could fix a lot of issues with video games if they had pirate ships.

Finished Final Fantasy Legend for the Game Boy. Pretty difficult, underrated and fun. Also feels great to play an RPG that isn't Pokemon since I wanted something different, and that final boss music is gonna be stuck in my head for a while since it's fucking awesome.

I'm close to finishing the downloadable case in Phoenix Wright: Duel Destinies. I've already finished the main game.

Dude, I remember that game. I also got to the end of it when I was in middle school.

Finally beaten Deadly Premonition. Only annoying part is that I couldn't really aim at the weakspot of the final boss for some reason after he puts it away. It probably has to do with how different the PC version is compared to consoles. Still, it was fun killing him and watching the ending.
The ending did give me some feels since it mean't that Zach has to go out into the world without York. Still, despite the separation, both characters got a happy ending. Plus York appears again at the end.

Finally beaten Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions.

That was without a doubt, the hardest Final Fantasy game I've played. This game doesn't hold back from beginning to end. You have to keep track of pretty much everything, from the abilities you have equipped, the turn order of the units on the field, your equipment, your positioning, ect. It's definitely a game that requires... well... TACTICS. :coster:

I raged, I bitched, I rage quit quite a few times throughout the game, but I persevered.

Anyway, I really enjoyed the amount of customization you can apply to your units. My Ramza was a Samurai that had both Concentration, an ability from the Archer class, and Shirahadori, which made it so that he could never miss an attack and it makes it so he's damn near impossible to hit with a melee attack. Although that soon became not so great towards the end game where most enemies rely on magic or ranged attacks.

Or how I equipped Quickness to my Black Mage so he can throw out Flares and -aja spells at a really fast pace.

The story itself was pretty good too for the most part.

I do kinda like the whole conflict between the two dukes, each of which using a child from the royal family in order to obtain the throne. And I like how Ramza and Delita both went on their own paths towards solving things.

Plus, the game alludes to their being an past civilization via how Mastadio's town has tunnels that lead underground to old relics and the Airship Graveyard at the end of the game. It doesn't go into too deep detail in the main story I noticed, and normally,I would have liked if they expanded on it more, but keeping it the whole thing vague works for me too.

I kinda wished certain characters like Mustadio and Agrias got more screen time though. I get neither of them are too important in the grand scheme of the plot, but as soon as they join your party officially, their involvement in the main story just ends. Not even little scenes where they give their thoughts on what's going on.

I get that they are both characters that can permanently die, but still. Would have been nice if they had more screen time.

Also, my reaction to the ending:

Oh! You got married? Congratulations Delita!

*watches epilogue*

Fuck you Delita! (:_(

So yeah, great game.

As I've been PC-less for almost a week, I decided to dust off Lost Kingdoms (GC),

Christ, young me had more patience for grinding- once you do a level it's done, so it's best to quit once you beat all the monsters/run out of cards.

However, current me is a more efficient grinder/player. I appreciated it more this time round. Last level was still a bit of a conserve-fest (screw you and your King Elephant, Thalnos!

I had enough Chaos Knight charges left to kill the God of Destruction though.

The only reason I don't dust off the sequel is both my disc & replacement disc freeze at the same sorts of places. It's a better game though.

I finished Duel Destinies a few days ago. So now I'm working on the Phoenix Wright and Professor Layton crossover game.

Got the "True" ending to Star Fox 64.

Took me a couple tries as Star Wolf on Venom is just crazy if you don't have everyone with you and have upgraded lasers.

Beaten Metal Gear Solid 2 on the HD collection. Finished it on normal difficulty and I got the rank of Scorpion. Solidus was a bit of a challenge since he can block your sword swings though he does leave himself open to attacks.

Just Cause 1. It was a fun game, but it was a Ps2-era game and aged really badly. I just wanted the game out of my backlog.

Finished Dead State with the bus ending. Told Davis to go on without me which mean't my character and his buddies get left behind while everyone else lives. May as well try again with the other choice of the bus ending (the "wait for me" option, provided that actually does end with my character suriving and isn't just the same thing with different text that says I get left behind).

Don't mean to double post but just now, I finished the first Fallout. The Master is such a good villain in a sense that the greater good he goes for is something he can abandon if you manage to convince him. Very different compared to the sequel where the final boss of Fallout 2 can be defeated only by combat.

Just beat Persona 4 on the PS2.

Playing through this game again, I kinda gained a new appreciation for this game's themes around the media. I get the game's main theme is Truth, I just never really thought too much about that aspect of it.

And I kinda used to think Persona 3 was better to this game in every way. But looking at it now, I can also appreciate how different the two games are in terms of general tone, atmoshphere, and how the characters were handled. Looking at this game on it's own merits, it's one hell of a game.
