Do you believe that this series will turn to shit?

That’s a rising possibility I’ve been dreading since the fourth episode. I just wish there could be more western works that didn’t revolve into anti-theism. The whole “heaven is as bad as hell you guys” gets kind of stale when nothing else is done with it.

This goes for pretty much any animator on twitter right now; even those employed by big companies like WB and Disney tend to act the same way and have no tard wranglers around. Craig McCracken might be the only one to actually use Twitter for just promoting his shows and talking about production.
Which begs the question: is it that hard to make a professional twitter account and then a second account for personal use?

Hell, try any fan community over the past decade.
Even manga has done a way better heaven is worse than hell storylines before. GodSpeed while it only lasted a few chapters did that story way better while it was getting cancelled in japan and that creator of the series is fucking dead.

This video explains the series better and yes there's a mommy angel in the series.

Reminds me of this idiotic Zombie Simpsons episode I watched the other day, where the city was forced to ban the teaching of evolution in school in favor of creationism. The whole thing comes off as a one-sided screed against religion, basically boiling down to "science good, religion bad". Never mind all the times where religion actually pushed science forward, like in the dark ages, where the religious were the ones keeping scientific growth alive.

He's not getting canceled. He's not exactly Notch, but he has fuck you money. Fuck you is what he should have told these people instead of being polite, but he's a better person than that.
Quite late to your post but I thought it worth noting. This is the same sort of shit that happened with JK Rowling. A largely innocuous thing happens and the social media mob overreacts. Their target sticks to their guns and as things get worse get more determined. These people literally create their own worst enemies because they're so used to targeting those who can be ruined by the mob that they don't seem to understand that when they do it to someone who can't be and refuse to back down that person is going to become the enemy they claim they are. I doubt Scott or JK really give much of a shit about the people targeting them but at this point they're not likely to change their minds because the mob has shown they were right to have those attitudes.

This is an artwork by Themrock which is a really accurate depiction of Twitter: It being a godawful social media site that scares even the devil. It is honestly a pretty spot-on take considering how this hellsite brings out the worst in anyone using it.
This is why I generally ignore shit people do on Twitter because it's all bad. Even people I otherwise respect like Nick Rekieta act like utter lolcows on Twitter.

Tbh I've actually been somewhat surprised there hasn't been more drama considering the whole fandom seems like a powderkeg of autism not seen since Steven Universe. Other than some fairly boring hater drama and that sped who voiced the Egg Bois and chimped out for some reason I forget, the internal drama has been pretty mellow.
I doubt Scott or JK really give much of a shit about the people targeting them but at this point they're not likely to change their minds because the mob has shown they were right to have those attitudes.
And more importantly, as prominent and well-liked people are viciously attacked for saying absolutely sane things the vast majority of people already agree with, the mob itself becomes less intimidating and people are more likely to call them out on their fucking bullshit and tell them they're the morons they are.

In light of what I am seeing Viv say about Scott Cawthon with explicit demeaning mention of Christianity, however, my enthusiasm is now diminishing with the rising possibility that the show won't be as Christian as I was hoping, but will rather go the route of edgy anti-theism. I especially dread the prospect of the show eventually involving itself with Heaven, given the likelihood that Viv's takeaway for it will be "actually Heaven is just as bad (or worse) than Hell."

I think its been clear from the start that Heaven, with its policy of just ruthlessly exterminating low-level demons to keep Hell from getting too full, is going to be portrayed as outright villainous. I guess that part has been easy to forget due to it only really being dealt with in the first minute of Hazbin Hotel.

Generally a work that portrays Hell as a kickass place full of adventure is not going to be made by a person who has an ultimately positive view of Heaven. Vice versa, someone devout enough to accept the idea that redemption is possible but takes real faith and dilligence usually doesn't think in terms of quippy main characters, lewd jokes and a lot of violence. Resentment of religion is at an all time high in popular culture right now for sure, but I think even if you removed that layer from this situation you'd still run up against the root issue that the two mindsets just don't gell with each other.

There's the possibility that what little we've seen of Heaven is just a corrupt bureaucracy who's purging will form a stronger bond between the leaders of both Hell and Heaven (thus facilitating that redemption humans seem to struggle with so severely) but I wouldn't hold my breath. This doesn't seem like that kind of story.

It's so ironic given hell in real life is anything but cool. It's a place where bad people suffer for many years until they lose the will to live. Like the 9 gates of hell is not pretty and even has reincarnation in hell. If you make it out in all 9 gates of hell going down you will be reborn as some monkey monster-like demon.

I remember watching some docs about how reincarnation of heaven and hell works and it diffrences from when you die good or when you die bad. I think if you are reborn bad in hell it'll take you to some weird jungle like world where the "Humans" turn into weird demon face monkey creatures. I don't know what to call them it's like that in the pic but with real human like face.

I personally find the idea of Hell being anything humans can actually comprehend thoroughly ridiculous, and I likewise don't take seriously anything that claims otherwise. Hence why I wasn't expecting much in the way of an actual theological debate out of this series.

What the fuck even is that?

I thought it was Hell doing that, not Heaven. I'd actually like more on the mechanics of how these purges happen. Is it because the people purged are too evil? Or, alternately, too good? Or is it completely random? We have no information on this.

So far, we've only personally encountered four actual people from Heaven. One of them is Deerie, who is a hideously awful bureaucrat literally VA'ed by the creator of the show. But the other three are pretty obviously well intentioned and even nice characters, including Keenie, also voiced by Vivz (the adorable sheep).

I posted this video on the Clownfish TV thread but wanna post it here as well for people who didn't see it. VPops has defenders and their name is Clownfish TV the white knights of the animation community.
I feel this is a dead horse at this point but I still find the concept of Viv being white knighted given her position back in 2019.
Guess having a trans demon gave her a lot of clout.

To push the JK similarities even further, people have even started going on about how Markiplier is the real creator of FNAF, like how Hatsune Miku created Harry Potter. It’s like they want Cawthorn to legitimately turn homophobic.
I really wanna know the current status of HH and A24….
As much as we would like to debate how much current events will affect HH and it’s standing with A24, dollars to donuts is that it won’t do a thing.
Simply put, animators do stuff like this all the time and the worst they get is being told to delete some posts. If everyone in entertainment faces actual consequences for what they post, they’d either shape up or there would be about ten people in the industry.
Pretty depressing when I lay it out like that.

What the fuck even is that?
People in some cultures think when you die and get reborn after being in the 9 gates of hell you will be isekai into a jungle world where human monkey-like demons exist without memories of who you are. I wish I had a better pic of what I'm talking about but Google is retarded when not giving me the right image.

What's more interesting to me is the end of Addict. There's a strong sense that Angel is slowly beginning to realize that despite the alleged Dionysian liberty of hell, in reality he's actually just another slave. Of course, that doesn't mean heaven is any better under Hazbin rules... but there are some strong hints that although heaven may be stifling, hell's freedom comes at too high a price.

Speaking of which? Scott has deleted his website that had the retirement post there alongside his FNAF's website.

No idea what the flying fuck is going on but it's not looking good mates

Oh jesus. Please tell me Angel didnt get retconned into being trans. Hes one of the only characters I've actually liked in years, apart from being really cute and endearing.

Agreed. I was pissed when I realized Mettaton (the David Bowie robot from Undertale) was not, in fact, just a unabashedly fabulous man, but a thinly veiled trans metaphor. Hoping it doesn't happen with angel, I've jacked off to huskerdust too many times to just eject now.
