For someone who claims to care about "surround sound audio" you'd think he would be aware that optical is pretty much the lowest quality way to get it now that hdmi is a thing. But even so he isn't sitting in a home theater while gaming anymore so he's only ever getting stereo through his shitty headphones.

I wonder if increasing the tips goal is an effort at pig psychology.

When the tips goal is $100 and he's at $30 he's still 30% of the way there.

When the tips goal is $200 and he's at $30, he's 15% of the way there and he can use this to be for more and push his faux-poverty state.

He won't hit the $200 goal very much, but he can use it to push the "I'm poor and struggling feed my kat" narrative.

The 200 tips goal was great for making it seem like he wasn't making much money.

I saw detractors constantly mocking him when he was "only" at like $130 of the 200 dollar goal, completely ignoring that 130 bucks is still a decent amount of money even if its less than his arbitrary, random goal.

Dsp should make the tips goal something that is rarely obtainable like $300 or even $500 so that his fans/detractors get conditioned to see $200 tip totals as a total failure and he gets to constantly cry about how little he is making, while making more than ever before.

He was really stupid to get rid of the $200 tips goal after how well it was working. Now $100 and the tips basically stop. Before even after hitting the vest goal tips would still trickle in working towards the $200, and it didn't really matter if that amount was actually reached or not since he was still pulling in a lot of money compared to when tips stop right at 100.

While I agree with your sentiment, he can't overdo it with the goal. The few whales he has make up most of the contributions and usually they tip just enough to reach the goal.
If he sets it too high, they might be discouraged if they can't "save the day" anymore.

Is this really how it works? For anything other than FPS I guess sure, but how are you going to perform well with audial information lagging behind at best 5 seconds? By then you’re likely dead when you need to be listening for footsteps of approaching enemies, etc.
I’d imagine you’d have to be playing on mute as well so as not to double-up on audio out to the viewers.

No, none of these concerns apply. Good capture cards have such low latency you could play FPSes right in the OBS window and you would never notice delay unless you are literally a world champion level gamer with 1ms monitors and at that point your internet connection would introduce way more lag than your capture card or OBS ever could. Furthermore cards have HDMI passthrough so you could just get the audio from there into headphones in any number of ways (headphone out on the TV, HDMI splitter box, whatever) and watch/hear a totally unmodified output while streaming on your computer. There are tons of streamers playing PS5 with headphones on, they just don't have the exact autistic setup Phil wants so he claims it's impossible as the King of Suffering often does.

I agree. Phil has mortgage bills, utility bills, grocery bills, WWE Gatcha bills, cat bills, and Kat bills, and these poor fucking losers are falling behind on paying them. They really need to step it up, or just get the fuck off his twitch and never come back.

Phil playing sports games still is baffling, it really seems like he does it just to shit on his viewers. He doesn't enjoy them at all and barely knows how to play them. They're not bringing in a single new viewer. His Youtube views with them are terrible, he struggles to ever hit 1000. And twice in one day, it does feel like punishment. Buy him that damn XBox.
