Well, it's a matter of opinion but it's not that hard to have the opinion that chris has always along the way chosen, knowingly, which troll suggestions to roll with.
I wouldn't say chris has an average iq but not really that low that it would make chris not responsible for choices or wouldn't have any agency, the psych reports asses that too. that chris is disabled is more connected to being unemployable due to other (personality) reasons and bob knowing what to do to get it.
as for them having something to do with or not, if chris wanted to do it chris would've rejected them anyway if they were to tell chris not to screw some old woman, but if you were to read their full interactions somehow there's some probability that there's some suggestions to go for it without knowing who it necessarily is for sure. Anyway that's one of the reasons why people shouldn't have interacted with chris, not to help and not to bully or to troll or hoax or whatever, you'll get the dodoo on your hands always when you do SOMEHOW, first it's all fun and games and then chris does something cray cray like actually puts something up his butt or tells you of the fanta.
They probably at some level had the aspirations to be the biggest trolls ever, sure - and sure they got the biggest scoop but the scoop was probably much bigger than they signed up for and at what cost lol.
