Jellystone!

Choo Choo is a weaboo now.

Actually it's that Hippo character who is now a weaboo. Also i watched all 20 episodes, and it's worse than you thought. They made Augie Dogie a girl. And for som strange reason, they included the Banana Splits in this cartoon despite them being robots in that 2019 movie. But at least I will give them this they did include some obscure HB characters in this cartoon. No seriously there are characters like Yakey Doodle and the CB Bears in this cartoon.

why not make new characters?, oh laziness and lack ability to think up anything original that's why
They also point out that none of the female characters from the classic show ever got to do anything funny. And its like there wasn't a shortage of female love interests or female side characters they could've expanded on and made relatable. I mean they did it with Cindy Bear. Not sure why they couldn't do it with the others... Although not like it matters much considering the writing quality of this pile of shit.

The classic characters were simple, cute, and charming one line spewing machines and way too innocent for today's writers and animators. They just don't fit in with what the industry produces today.
Pretty much this. They should've just tried making something to appeal to the preschool demographic with these characters. Or just keep the cutesy personalities but add more Tom & Jerry-esque violence since kids won't really care what the characters are like these days so long as they go through a lot of physical harm.

Serious question: were any of these minor H-B characters ever good in the first place? Is there a single Jabberjaw, Huckleberry Hound, or Top Cat cartoon worth watching? This was the stuff I'd turn off the TV for, even as a cartoon-swilling kid. If there's something I'm missing, lay it on me.

Only good thing to come out of Jabberjaw was the Cartoon Network Groovies music video.

They are very much of their time and pretty much exist as pieces of 1950s Americana. I am of course referring to everything H-B did pre-1967, before they were bought out by Taft.

Top Cat is huge in some counties like Mexico and UK, don't ask me why. I mean Top Cat was so loved in Mexico, WB made 2 movies just for them.

In terms of just the 60s/70s goofy cartoon animals that talk shows... then not really since like others have said, they were products of their time, with the only ones to have long lasting endurance and continuous appeal even years later being the Flintstones, Wacky Races, Top Cat and Scooby Doo. Scooby Doo was always popular but I always found it pretty damn boring (same for its many clones). Jabberjaw is really corny but I liked it as a little kid on CN more than the other goofy toons/scooby clones, so it did its job well for the target demographic.

Personally, 60s/70s HB shined most in its action department, like Jonny Quest, Space Ghost, Sealab and whatnot. The 80s era was a huge step up for HB overall.

Top Cat's popularity stems a lot from the fact that his show revolved around the fact that he was a likeable conman and crook trying to fleece others and outwitting the cops but while always maintaining an air of likeability. I've heard kids in spanish-speaking countries also found him endearing because he lived in a trash can, much like that Chavo character from Mexican telly.

The original seasons of Scooby-Doo were formulaic but they had charm. The main characters were all lovable. Some of that show was genuinely scary as a kid in part to the excellent background landscapes and monster designs, which are all iconic. It didn't start getting really stupid until the late 70's when they had celebrity guests appear.

There was a project recently to find the original production music which was surprisingly hard to find. Check it out

The production soundtrack is legit amazing.

Jabberjaw only ever had two things going for him:

The already mentioned Groovie done by CN starring the band Pain, and his cameo in the crossover episode in Mystery Incorporated where he was alongside Scooby Doo, Captain Caveman, and Speed Buggy.

It's really telling when Pain's song (Original Groovie, Fan Covers, and the actual channel for them) is the only reason why anyone recognizes him for anyone born after the 70s-early 90's.

Rule of thumb states that no matter how shitty a show is, no matter what, SOMEBODY on Twitter will defend it by calling you whatever -ist or -phobe there is. Trust me, it's gonna fucking happen.
People who say weebs are defensive and psychotic have never, ever met a CalArts fan.

It's easier than ever to buy fake support (even if not from real people, with the assistance of a learning model like gpt-3). The problem comes for the company when they gain no real lasting audience from the attempt to fool.
It's already getting the "JELLYSTONE CLIPS WITH CHAOTIC ENERGY" "fan" compilations :c

Anyone else feel like these types of videos just exist to psyop people into thinking that something that isn't very good is a masterpiece? I've seen people doing that with Fish Hooks of all shows.

Also, goddamn, with all these fucking genderswaps, I'm surprised they didn't decide to make Snagglepuss a girl.
