According to one of the writers, Jellystone will be premiering on Cartoon Network this fall. Notably, this'll be the first time a Yogi Bear show has aired on the network since 2004.

Anyone else feel like these types of videos just exist to psyop people into thinking that something that isn't very good is a masterpiece? I've seen people doing that with Fish Hooks of all shows.

Also, goddamn, with all these fucking genderswaps, I'm surprised they didn't decide to make Snagglepuss a girl.

Less that and more hyperobsessed fan that wants to gaslight everyone into believing what they think is a masterpiece is such. But it usually just translates into somewhat of a meme status rather than genuine enjoyment of the content.

This means one of two things, one it flopped, or two Cartoon Network has a big gap in their schedule. I really don't understand why this was greenlit for HBO Max in the first place, it's a content type that won't get much in new subs and they already have a huge backlog of is kids shows. Would have been better to invest in a preschool-age show, as that's something they lack in compared to rivals, or double now Adult Swim style shows.

As a huge fan of the HB characters I was rather excited when this show was first announced. They’ve been the butt of mean jokes for many years now, but I hoped that this series would turn things around and update them tastefully. I should have known better, of course, because every reboot of classic cartoons these days seems to have something wrong with it.

The first warning signs I noticed were when I began seeing images of Top Cat characters with tranny flags. I didn’t know what it was about, so I did some digging and found out about the gender changes. And of course they had to torture me by mostly doing this to some of my personal favorite HB characters.

But, don’t say anything bad about Jellystone, or else you’ll get a bunch of angry trannies (who've probably never even seen the original cartoons) calling you a “bigot”.

I've been seeing these types of videos a lot more frequently as of late with both newer shows and old shows that have suddenly been made available via streaming around the same time, and all have an unusually high number of views, even for old obscure shit like Raggedy Ann. It feels like something put together by marketing teams (or very dedicated weirdos) with titles like "[insert show] is pure meme fuel" or "clips that prove this show is completely bonkers and I love it", and the most common one "out of context clips of [insert show] that proves everyone is totally gay" or "moments that proved [insert show] was way deeper than you think".

I just watched a few more episodes, and i think it's starting to grow on me a bit. it's still a bit meh for me, but it's at least watchable

I personally haven't seen much of the show myself, but even when the thing was announced, I was cautiously awaiting it. I didn't want to assume it was going to be good or bad just from the teasers alone, and make a bunch of broad assumptions about it.

I admittedly found it a little curveball that they decided to change the genders of some of the cast just to fulfill some kind of weird gender balance requirement, and have them be treated like "trans icons", without even hinting that they were doing that no less, but at the end of the day, so long as the core of the characters are left intact, I would think it's at least passable.

But yeah, the show doesn't seem that groundbreaking by any means, at least from what I have seen.

I might be late to say this unless anyone else knows but apparently Mildew wolfe (A character I'd never even heard of before this) is a flaming homo with a crush on shazan who they might have also retconned into being a flaming homo.

I'm gonna say it, this the dumbest thing to happen to Hanna Barbera's body of work since the Banana Splits movie. Much like with how I wanna give Mr. Warburton the benefit of the doubt and believe it wasn't his idea to put gonzo in a dress on the new muppet babies, for Greenblat''s sake I hope that wasn't his idea soley, but the idea of some intern they hired from calarts or berkley that somehow got on the writing staff.

Paul Lynde did the voice for Mildew Wolf, but just because the voice actor was gay doesn't mean the character should be. Wasn't Snagglepuss gay in the DC comics? Does he even show up here? Despite acting like the Cowardly Lion, a lot of people in the 90s would say his mannerisms make him a campy gay character.

I'm still laughing how their idea of "trans-ing" is merely a simple gender-swap of established characters in a mere rendition of said characters. Comes off as kind of pretentious if you ask me.

This show is seriously making me consider flying out to California just so I can plant flowerS and apology cards on Hannah and Barbera's graves. Given all the bullshit that's been based on their work since they died.

Despite how close they worked together they aren't buried in the same cemetery, joe was laid to rest in Glendale bill in orange county.

The problem with Jellystone is making Hannah and Barbera characters popular with the youth of today, while significantly only caring about young fans who clamour onto the “gender identity “ lifestyle (on social media and nowhere else) where everything has to be “gay”, “trans”, “inclusive” or “YASSSS QUEEN”

Snagglepuss, Hong Kong Phooey and Yogi Bear are not those kinds of characters, even if the first one was a more goofier version of the Pink Panther.

Like I said on some level I'm kinda glad Bill, joe, Richard Williams, Tex Avery, Bob clampet, Aren't alive to see this. Death is a mystery and burial is a secret, but for all the progress we've made in terms of both we're no closer to a understanding the latter any more than we first became self aware and realized that we live and die.


Wherever those men may be if anywhere beyond the mortal veil I can only hope they have some semblance of solace despite what's become of their life's work.
