They found so many people to moderate 4chan for free but no one that would update its site security for free. Very tragic.

Meanwhile Kiwifarms has been "destroyed" many times and it always comes back. The last few times, members of the community chimed in to help Null with the source code and stuff. That's what happens when a site admin has a presence within the community.

4chan has had no such thing since the very early 2010s, so the whole project was a festering ship lost at sea with a captain in name only that nobody could locate. It's very detached and site problems just went unnoticed. If there was ever a time for the autistic talent of 4chan to shine, that would have been to assist in the reinforcement of the website's security. Especially considering how many enemies 4chan made during its heyday.

Somebody likened it to the fall of Rome? Perfect analogy. Taken by the Troon Barbarians and left to decline in poor leadership; it's members branching off to various other pastures, it's leader in another fucking city. 4chan, like Rome, just fell. Any return to form is going to require so many fixes that it would take months to bring back to capacity.

Yeah, I imagine anyone who was engaging positively on 4chan isn't going to return even if it does come back. This has majorly given impetus to those small communities that lived in niche boards/generals to move to smaller chans or discord.

I fully expect they do exactly that, fix the specific Ghostscript exploit the soyteen used, and then just nearly immediately get hacked again because their site is dogshit and since they replaced anyone competent with troon garbage, nobody is competent to fix it.

The funniest part about this is that the site isn't even fucking ad friendly, every time I'd go on /vt/ or whatever other blue board I'd have to refresh multiple times in order to get an ad that WASN'T some pajeet advertising a fake Onlyfans site with pictures they stole off Instagram. What's the point of having SFW boards if you're just gonna plaster them with porn ads?
