I know this thread is a little old, but I just wanted to highlight Phil's lack of common sense, foresight, and irresponsibility with money. Here is the machete that Phil wants at my local Walmart. Check out the price compared to Phil's link.

Nearly half the price. So not only is Phil lousy with money, and not only is he trying to mooch off his friends, but he's mooching without even trying to find a reasonable price and instead is just wasting his friends' money. Yes we all know Phil has no understanding of the value of money, but he's also incredibly inconsiderate to his friends while being selfish and moochy.

Good thing he's never actually getting a machete, really.
 
If he actually shopped around he could find a decent MILSPEC or better machete for about the same price or just a little more than what he was asking. Cold Steel makes a really good line of machetes that can take a beating, are made from decent steel for a machete, and will keep an edge better than most machetes on the market. They even make a variety of sizes and styles from your basic Latin-style all the way up to two-handed sword-style.

Or he could go to any Army Surplus shop and pick one up for less that a tenner, the thing is it wouldn't suit him because as I keep saying the quality doesn't matter to him he's just concerd about how it looks and more importantly how he pictures himself holding it.

That's kind of my point; image is everything to Phil and there are other options that would fulfill Phil's badass mental image of himself even more than the Gerber: the MILSPEC models being more authentic to his make believe Latin heritage, and the Cold Steel models being more weapon-like to fit his "tough gal" mental image of himself.

Phil wont buy one because he can take the pictures he needs in the shop.
Even his rodent brain knows if people know he has something like that with him then he wont be allowed in a shelter and no fucker is going to offer him a couch.

I'd be willing to bet that he knows him carrying a blade like that would attract the attention of more than a few insecure, wannabe tough-guys that are more than capable of beating his ass. So I'd say that's another reason he won't be picking one up.

Gonna do real talk here, if I see anyone with a machete out in public ill make one call, and it's not the Ghost Busters

Open carry for pistols is legal, open carry for machetes is not because of people like Phil.

It's far simpler than that - He's afraid of the Police so that's the real reason he wont blow his cash on one, Phil lives in a perpetual state of frustration, befuddlement and fear of authority.

This, in the HIGHLY UNLIKELY EVENT Phil does get a Machette I would advise any one who spots him in public with it to call the Police right away don't even try and Photograph him just take your mobile out your pocket dial 911 inform the police that there is a Man with a large bladed instrument who appears to be unstable and they will come and take care of it.

Once they are on the scean then feel free to Phil the resulting pant's shitting but don't engage him directly, he's not dangerous but he is a idiot and idiots with knifes who suddenly feel powerful because they have a weapon are unpredictable, even more so when it comes to Phil and his inferiority complex.

Phil still hasnt done anything
He hasnt got a machete or gun
And hasnt threatened tweaker

Phils is paranoid and constantly stressed but not homicidal
The single most violent incident in his life was punching a disabled woman

Also I didn't mention Tweaker, hell he hasn't even got access to this sub anymore so out of respect I'd rather leave him out of this but seeing as you asked - No he wouldn't do a fucking thing to Mike he hasn't got the nerve - but he is just stupid enough that when he get's desperate enough for attention he might just fucking buy one and carry it around under his coat or in the bergen of fail to show off and feel big and tough and I gave a warning to Portland Kiwi's that if they spot him with it to call the Police rather than engaging him for there own safety because as I said:

And even idiots can get lucky when there is 16+ inches of sharpened steel in play, In Phil's original mega thread I gave the same warning about not engaging him when I identified his bridge and he just had a bike lock and pocket knife.

Those videos are always a trip to watch. I've had a couple of their products in the past and still have one of their Big Bore Blowguns which is a lot of fun. My buddy bought one of their standard machetes and we beat the shit out of it and aside from some scrapes it's still perfectly functional.
