Off topic should be members only, especially the pic thread.
It is
This is why I use multiple email addresses. One for family and friends, linked to facebook and anything considered "Legit" and then one for places like this. The darker places on the internet where the danger is part of the fun. The price for our lolz is high and I'll only pay for it with fake accounts and stand alone email accounts when able. The rules of doing naughty shit are as followed:

  1. Cover your ass.
  2. Never take I.D. with you to do something naughty
  3. Use misdirection whenever possible
  4. Paranoia can be your friend if you are really in deep.
  5. Only use pre-paid cards for naughty purchases. Keep the credit cards with the Legit stuff.
  6. If you feel like you will regret it, back out. This isn't for you. Don't worry about how it will look to anyone else. If you can't handle the risks, it is better not to be involved.
holy shit its a website where we make fun of autists not some supersecret underground trolling circle where you have to use fake ids and prepaid cards

Thinking on it, not having my art portfolio traceable to this account might be a good idea. I'll def be rehosting the works I put on here.

Also what null said about most industries being super aggressive about checking the online presence of their employees is true. I've seen peoples job options get nuked or even lawsuits ensuing just for a handful of photos on Facebook or an angry throwaway rant.

I know accounts are not deleted on request but what about name changes? My username is generic enough no one will find it (not to power level but even the friend who uses the kiwi farms and we occcasionally discuss the goings on irl hasn't figured out which user is me) but if this is an option maybe others could make use of it?

I hope to god they don't find my Dr.Who/Twin Peaks fanfiction

I would read that.

Oh well, sorry I missed that, however I'm glad that it's hidden from non members.
However does it need to have a certain amount of messages?, some cool guy could just create one and lurk around.

It requires a certain number of messages, but not a high one. It's designed to avoid casual browsing, not be a security wall. If you're extremely uncomfortable with people seeing your photos you shouldn't be uploading them to a site full of sociopathic autismal trollkin.

its 20 positive ratings.

you're welcome.

I use the same persona for all my internet shenanigans that have to do with art/blogging/writing/dicking around because I really don't care if someone sees my stuff on a site and runs across other strange things on another site. I do, however, have a completely different persona for my irl business though.

I just got a bit concerned and checked this internet persona's stuff and... Well, nothing connecting to my incredibly personal information. That's good.

Why do people have multiple personas of things that aren't for personal use? Separating personal from Internet Nonsense makes sense, but to have more than one Internet Nonsense persona... What's the point in doing that?

GMX is a good place to get a throw-away Email address if you need one. They'll even delete it for you if you leave it alone for long enough.

Sure is a good thing that I followed the rules when signing up. I even go as far as taking the time to change my typing style whenever I post here.
