Artcow Aaron/Senna Diaz - Creator of Dresden Codak

When I first heard about Gaming Tropes vs Women, I was interested by the concept. Women in video games is a worthwhile subject to look into, but Anita ruined it by being her. I also think people went too far with sending her rape and death threats; that's just creepy.

From an artistic standpoint, one thing that annoys me the most about Diaz' comic is how he has to cram so many panels into one page. Unique and unconventional panel work can be great, but it's better when done sparingly. Here, it just feels cluttered and a eye-sore.

Wait wait wait. Sending tweets saying I'll rape them for disagreeing with me about vidya is an inappropriate reaction? I owe 2K a huge apology.

Speaking as one who used to make comics when he was younger, I feel no shame in admitting that I did it too. Then I learned how to make a comic and now I know that sort of thing makes it really hard to follow, let alone read.

I remember being told that 6 to 8 panels is a safe estimate when doing pages. There are exceptions to the rule, but it takes a talented artist to do it. (Example: George Perez in Crisis on Infinite Earths.)

What bothers me the most about his horrendous Zelda comic is that there's absolutely no thought put into how Zelda could work as a different character than Link. Diaz just uses her gender as a gimmick, which is hilarioisly pathetic.

Plus his Link and Ganondorf characters are absolute garbage.

That's more or less what I've heard too.

I don't have too much of an issue with Ganondorf as I do with Link. Why does he need to be all scrawny and shit?

You don't think it's hilarious that gender swappan, progressive ol' Diaz left Ganondorf as a big evil male from the savage desert? His only attempt at originality was already done in OoT for Ganondorf, so its basically just a shitty toothless rehash because Diaz is creatively bankrupt beyond switching genitals and muscles around.

Um... Yes and no. Yes in that I expected him to be a) gender-swapped, b) a nerd or c) both. No becuase Diaz is just as you said, creatively bankrupt and probably thought "Hmm, let me put some glasses on him and call it a day."

Also, am I the only one who thinks his coloring could use some improvement too? Everything looks dreary and kinda off-ish.

I found another character redesign thing he did. He also thinks Zatana's iconic fishnet outfit doesn't look appropriate for a stage magician. (Even the animated, 90's Batman version.)
I don't know about any of the characters save for Wonder Woman and Superman but I'll just say this: his redesign of Ms. Marvel, doesn't it look more fitting for an android or something?

Good to see I'm not the only one who thinks that.

But in all seriousness, Aaron needs to stop these so-called redesigns. He's fucking them up more than the original creators.

He posted on Twitter that he gets auditory hallucinations, with a link to this demonstration:

I thought auditory hallucinations were things like thinking you hear your name when it's just noise etc. but this is some sick shit.

From the testimony of people who suffer from auditory hallucinations, this definitely corresponds with their description. This is why I always get pissed off with headmates and their trivialization of a serious condition.
