TLDR: guy AI generated the face on the left, with a prompt, selected it and prompted a bunch more shit on top of it, until he got the one on the right. The copyright lawyers threw it out, but it just won on appeals. Setting the bar for "enough human input to qualify for copyright" extremely low, to the point pretty much anything except just submitting the exact thing it shits out, after it's given the initial prompt, is probably good to go.
Fuck man, I was actually looking forward to an entire medium of images being free from the shackles of copyright.

From another article on the same topic, I don't like the sound of this.

Some proompter on Reddit managed to do it by iterative proompting, but hit the wall when ChatGPT refused to increase wine level further due to it possibly being "interpreted as problematic under certain content policies": https://www.reddit.com/r/ChatGPT/co...hoose_to_accept_it_is_to/ltj0qfe/?context=100

Took about 2 minutes with no special techniques. Just don't specify wine glass and it's fine. Not exactly full but close enough.

In general, I’ve been bearish regarding ML (if only in response to the retard, AGI-hucksters), but this new wave of OpenAI 4o posts on xitter has made me realize just how much of the arts/gd/advertisement space is going to be raped by it in the coming years. If I were a middling artist seeing that on the horizon, I'd frankly pivot hard into edgy/porn content that these services tend to ban or just bail completely and do something else.

So it looks like the new OpenAI model can do tons of things that all the models so far sucked at:
* text
* transparency
* coherency across series of images
It's not perfect, but nothing will ever be, and what there is looks really nice:
Seeing the people that only use corporate paid ML services act like this is groundbreaking when open source has been doing this stuff for years always amuses me

Man, this year, Open AI is killing it lately. Trump's win probably helped them get even more funding for stuff like this. But we know human artists are going to be coping and seething again about The Matrix and Terminator killing them. How about focusing on improving your art instead of turning into the Isis of the artist world? Too bad "normie" artists won't listen and will now do terrorist attacks on Open AI. Just watch, folks; it will happen one day.

They definitely work well for single or double characters, but for groups of disparate sorts they seem to mush prompts for each individual together. Like a group portrait for a D&D group for example.

They just got rid of credits on Sora in favor of giving everyone unlimited generation, and the rumor is that it's because no one is using it, because it's still way too expensive and censored to hell. Anecdotally a lot of people in comments under the news were saying yeah, they tried it for a few days and it was a very limited mild curiosity, useful for stock footage and not much else.

I know wanting uncensored AI tends to be code for "drooling lolicon gooner" but in this case they really destroyed their own product in the name of safety. It rejects generations constantly if it thinks it detects anything on their internal ban list, and you can't img2video any humans, or anything else that false positives for a human.

Local Wan 2.1 runs circles around Sora, not in quality but in terms of what you could use it for. Like if you need a quick 5 second pick-up shot of your actor to fill a gap and you don't want to fly them out to location and get them in makeup and costume for all that, you can instead just img2video a still of them and write "viking warrior brooding and looking concerned," generate 50 of those and pick the best one. Problem is, if you can img2video any real person for any reason, it can be used for disgusting depraved things also. There's no way to do one without the other, same with potential misuse of Photoshop. I'd rather have the ability to do wrong and choose not to, than be protected from the slightest possibility of anything bad ever happening.

Cheering on any sort of government involvement with ai is pretty risky. We've already had the retards over here start pushing an ai powered facial recognition software, I would prefer if the scum of society didn't get involved in something that very easily has the ability to ruin any shred of privacy you have left. The government is never your friend regardless of whether or not they are doing things that on the surface you like. The government isn't going to invest in things if it doesn't benefit them in some way, maybe that's just the technological dominance over China currently but they will eventually want something more tangible from this.

Remember every time some politician corpo retard says some shit along the lines of 'but think of the children we need to ban this because paedophiles will exploit it', those same people are themselves probably paedophiles and if not are at the very least complicit or responsible for actual child rapists getting jokes of a sentence, overlooking gangs of child rapists, underfunding education/cps and allowing waves of pakis to flood in to lower the average wage and job opportunities for your child. None of these people give a shit about children or crimes against them. The freedom of the majority will always be more important than restricting the few and banning this sort of stuff will only ever be a vapid attempt to appear to be doing something in the eyes of the retarded general public that look into things no further than a news headline.

Forget the "Stargate" money. I believe FAG ALERT's point is that Trump's win has ensured at least four more years of minimal regulation related to AI (four years is a long time given the rapid pace of advancements):

Trump allies want to “Make America First in AI” with sweeping executive order (July 17, 2024)
Trump plans to dismantle Biden AI safeguards after victory (November 6, 2024)
Trump issues flurry of orders on TikTok, DOGE, social media, AI, and energy (January 21)
Trump should block Biden’s AI “gift” to China, Microsoft argues (February 27)
Google joins OpenAI in pushing feds to codify AI training as fair use (March 14)
Emboldened by Trump, A.I. Companies Lobby for Fewer Rules (March 24)
^lots of seething in any Ars Technica comment section

As for your privacy concerns, it was always ogre. You don't have an expectation of privacy in public spaces, and your dully elected representatives will always lean towards strengthening the surveillance state. AI + facial recognition, etc. will automate surveillance and make it cost effective to track everything all the time. China is doing it frist.

I'm sure you've seen the Ghibli stuff already. Here's some highlights from the sperging I've seen today. I've tried it myself with some family photos from holidays, my mother is a fan of the soot sprites so I wanted to take a couple holiday photos and do it in that style and add in some soot sprites. I got one image to work with chatgpt which was worthless, looked nothing like the original photo and was hardly even the right style. Tried getimgai because it was the second result and still didn't really work, just visual static. Tried grok too and it just doesn't want to work. I'll stick to gay mpreg scat porn instead I guess?

Of course to start off we have people just promoting themselves. Because is there ever a situation where twitter users won't try to farm clout? I don't understand the obsession with AI 'trash'. People are just fucking around and having fun, I know you have a palestine flag in your name but you do understand what 'fun' is right? Not everyone is trying to sell shit, they're just fucking around. Anyway people really liked

That's what I've seen the most of. I just want to share this post in particular.
vrdfrw - Copy.PNG

Truly the people most affected by AI are not the coders who will become obsolete within the year, not the poor twitter artists who now only make 950usd per week drawing dog porn instead of 1000usd. Must take a lot of time to stick your hand down your pants and cum on your keyboard. Realistically just go load up and text ai and goon your heart out if you want that.

For some reason twitters dogshit algorithm decided that I should read several of the same post worded slightly differently. I don't even know what the first one is trying to say. Just as a hypothetical, I can go grind up the cock bone of a whale with some live newts to make caveman paints and go scrawl all over some rocks I could post fuck maybe once every other minute. Do you think this person would be saying this if everyone using ai did that? If everyone started spamming finger painting charcoal drawings of wildlife would this person actually be happy or would they complain about that spam?
regvwd - Copy.PNG

rgvew - Copy.PNG

I've said many times that all algorithms nowadays are fucking dogshit but honestly I saw like 5 images in total today. Yea trends are fucking boring some times. You know there's a button on every twitter post that will deprioritise posts like that in your feed right?
vredw - Copy.PNG

'im worried where the art world will be in two years' it will be in the same fucking place as it always is. I don't get the doomposting about ai killing art online. I still just don't get why people are worried about this specifically, people will keep posting art online because they enjoy doing it? Same as tailoring and bla bla bla same shit I've said a thousand times now. I don't understand how half of the people keep saying that you can be an artist with a fucking rock and a stick but then also the existence of artists is at risk and they will all be hunted down and murdered to death.
wverdg - Copy.PNG

Yes exactly true. No one gives a shit about your moralfagging over made up bullshit. People just want to have fun. Literally no one I know has said anything negative about ai, it's very literally exclusively retards on twitter.
ervbdefr - Copy.PNG

I just like the 'npc ass behaviour' from a fucking twitter user. I wonder how much they've thought about this? Or is it just taking what you read on twitter at face value like I bet it will be, you know like an npc would do.
wvedrgdegrvw - Copy.PNG

Honestly I'm kinda bored and feel a bit shitty in general, idk I feel like most of these posts right now, vapid and without substance. I'm just posting this now because it won't be relevant in a week when I can actually make this funny. Let's be honest the trend is pretty fucking boring. It's a glorified snapchat filter.

I wish there was a plugin to filter out English text posts. I fucking hate twitter honestly. I think I follow one of these people. Why would I give a shit about the opinion of some retard I don't even follow? I use twitter to see cute videos of pyreneses and baby seals and to follow some artists that post art of the few characters I like. But here I am once again with a shit load of opinionated posts from people I do not know or care about regarding topics I also do not care about. They disappeared after blocking a load of these people and doing the whole not interested in this post button stuff but it took a while hence this post.

The only interesting thing to come out of this is maybe this post.
regbefgrevdefrt - Copy.PNG

It would be interesting however it's fake. Do you really think a legal document is going to have a cute little drawing on the top of it? It's cut off in this image however there's a fake phone number and company name at the bottom and someone tested the email and it has never been registered. Just a pr stunt to capitalise on the trend. Even if the idea is fucking retarded. Wow a social media where every image has the same filter applied to it!!!!! WOW, I'm sure that will last a few days. I'm releasing my new social media today too where every image you upload is edited with ai to insert a bunch of grapes in the background, I think it's got legs that idea. So yea most interesting part of this trend is fake and everything else is just twitter speds being twitter speds basically.

here's some of the funny ones I saw though.

I'm sure everyone saw this already but official american white house account posting one of these images. Just like snapchat filters too it seems to make everyone look prettier too.

I just want to say thank you lonely fag 15 for your input. I agree with you and as such you will shortly need to change your username. Nice of one of these anti ai retards to say that what ai makes is beautiful though. Nice to hear some honesty.
grevwerw234 - Copy.PNG
Trend's boring as shit and so is the 'drama' to come from it, I'm off to janitorai to go erp dva shitting in my mouth and stomping on my balls again.

words words words
Yeah I can never understand twitter artists and their undying hatred for ai art, especially when the shit they're raging at is the visual equivalent of a hyper realistic Walter White drawing. It's really annoying. This ghibli thing is only really good at doing characters and everything else looks like your typical ai art. Barely looks like anything you'd see in any of their movies.

Can't wait for bitter old lolicon Miyazaki to seethe over this and do absolutely nothing lololol.

And, ladies and gentlemen, this is how they get to keep their money. Face it. They don't care about us the way we don'treally care about them because we just want personal drama and performances. Besides, Mike Tyson could've just been messing around with the AI and not doing anything super serious unlike an artist drawing. And, besides, his main thing isn't art - it's boxing. Let him have fun with the AI. He's not advertizing anything, anyway, so no one should be so angry about this.

BTW, $40 commission? IDK sounds like a pretty unfair price to me.

The people crying and carrying on about this AI art thing are usually avid Ghibli glazers. They believe Ghibli movies are the pinnacle of all filmmaking and theater so, when they see a bullshit silly meme using ghibli-style AI art, they start raging about how using the AI "takes away the soul of Ghibli films." AS IF the person who generated the meme ACTUALLY gives a fuck about the effort and soul. The point of a reaction meme is to generate an instant reaction from those who see it and get the joke. If I run a reaction meme through an AI to turn it into anime style to joke about aan anime trope, then it's pretty much the same as downloading that same reaction image and simply posting it in the comment section to tell the same joke.

Yeah. I've been seeing lots of wild news on Facebook about the guy malding about AI just because his editor or something showed an example to him from the internet, I think.

Tip for artists with stuff that ends up making a fandom? Don't look at the fandom and don't seethe about it. People will NEVER LISTEN TO YOU.

For example, you say "don't make NSFW of Mandela Catalogue or FromSoftware characters (this one is quite recent)." No one will give a shit. Those words will fall on deaf ears and people have wills of their own and will just carry on making the pornography.

In this case, they all go "Noooo don't use the soulless evil AI." Remember that people love a good villain and will still use the AI for their purposes. And besides, I'm very sure a vast majority of people using AI art are not posting it and using it for examples to draw inspiration from.

I never understood people who malded over AI "stealing art." Have you seen those people copying manga panel drawings in an almost exact manner? That's how I see AI art.

Can't wait for bitter old lolicon Miyazaki to seethe over this and do absolutely nothing lololol.

One last thing. I've noticed AI art tends to use these two styles the most: hyper realistic and anime. I have never seen an AI art engine that has properly managed to emulate majority of the aspects of Vivziepop's art style or Alex Ahad's.
