If she wants to do anything to help the little one learn, at this age, clipping some laminated pictures of black and white patterns and big, brightly colored shapes where she can see them from her crib is one of the best things. Helps them learn to focus their eyes since they stick out nicely, especially in a tiktok baby's beige environment.
If she's still under the strangulation canopy instead of in something practical, well, then I guess she gets to drift in a muted world of no defined edges. This is bad for babies, as some tiktok moms are finding out. Apparently there's one kid who only colors in brown- wish I recalled the name. The pinterest fad of soft pastels taken to its extreme, pale neutrals, will hopefully not last long as tiktok babies become old enough to throw tantrums because they want a red toy racecar and not whatever unpainted Amish-made blocks mother is trying to push.

I can sorta understand taking pictures of this for private memories or whatever, but this is so fucking weird to share on a public social media platform.

I'm glad Ari is okay and healthy. I was firmly in the, "This should not be happening," camp, but I really have high hopes for this poor little girl. We live in an age where it's easier than ever for Ari to reach out and find people to help her on her way when her parents can't.

Without getting too personal, I also have parents who were great in some areas, but definitely I had to find people to help me with how I wanted my life to go pretty early on. It is possible to have parents who fundamentally lack and struggle in some areas and have a really great life in adulthood. I am living proof, and I hope Ari is as blessed as I have been. God knows she deserves it every bit as much or more than I do.

i find it weird that in the pictures where they are together and Alex is "holding" her, Alex is not even looking at Ari. most mother and newborn pics, the mum is looking down lovingly at their child.

i checked through the thread to make sure it wasn't something she'd be unable to do due to her disability and there's def photos of her looking at her lap.

Others please chip in too, but for me it's the "tummy time" she keeps pushing for unknown reasons. As others have mentioned, Ari is basically only a newborn when you correct her age for her prematurity. They don't really need tummy time this early cos they're still spending a lot of time being sleepy between feeds.
But when you do tummy time, you get on the floor with them so that if they face plant (because they don't have the strength and skill to move their huge heads) you can reposition them so they can breathe. Also you're on the floor with them so they can see Mum/Dad and interact with them.

You certainly don't plop them on the floor alone while your dog with overgrown claws stretches out by the kids head, while you sit in your wheelchair unable to assist in any fashion.

The AAP does say full term babies can do tummy time as soon as the stump falls off. Preemies can also do tummy time as well, as long as there are no health issues.

Correct about not ploping them on the floor. A mat or soft surface is best (not bare floor) and Noah should be on level with Ari to supervise.

You've said pretty much exactly what I would have.

You can see in the video that Ari is completely face planted at one point and even though Noah is there, no-one is helping her.

Their idea of tummy time is plonking her on a rug on her front and filming, that's it.
At that age they should have the parent right beside them, or even have Ari lying on top of the parent for extra bonding.

Not to mention the horror that is the unrestrained dog inches from her head, what the hell are they thinking?

If you know dog body language I'm not seeing that dog warming up to the baby I'm seeing a dog trying to insert itself back into its "parents" affections by pyhsically usurping the baby on the play mat and I see a fair bit of stress on that dogs forehead and those ears pressed back.
The dog "only just warmed up" so was presumably showing non-loving behaviour towards baby right up to this point where it worked out that this was what it had to do to regain its position in the home pecking order and get attention again.
It's a bite waiting to happen.

I doubt she's breastfeeding her, just cuddling. If she was successfully breastfeeding Ari there would be a lot more posts about it. And if she hasn't been expressing I highly doubt she'd have any milk supply.
