TGWTG Allison Pregler / Obscurus Lupa / Movie Nights - The vindictive leader of #ChangeTheChannel, GOTIS personified, vendetta against The Cinema Snob

So for real, is Allison Pregler really ‘asexual’ or is that just some shit for twitter points?
Honestly, she could be. There's an observable pattern in her content where she always cracks a joke if characters are fucking/intimate/dressed provocatively, and past a certain point it goes beyond the standard 'female internet reviewer making sex-object jokes' and has long given me the impression she isn't 100% on what sexual attraction feels like. That, coupled with how modestly she dresses and how relatively non-affectionate she is with Phelan (either physically or in how she talks to/about him), easily results in her being the sort of alienated, slightly sex-repulsed being who would identify with asexuality.

Or I'm reading into her too deeply and she just doesn't wanna fuck anyone unless they're Dean Stockwell lmao

Its also strange that she was posting fan ficiton at the age of 11/12.

Depending on the fandom, 11/12 is a fairly typical age to first become involved with fanworks communities. Especially with something like Harry Potter, many millennials' entryway into dedicated fandom. I hate to defend Allison but as long as the fic was kid-friendly this is reasonable geek-tween behavior

I actually have no problems with lupa till I got twitter banned we'd often chat about Independent video hires something Millennial won't even understand, but as an avid fan of terrible movie I used to watch some of the biggest piles of shit ever put on VHS especially 90's straight to video erotic thrillers. I'd also argue that her and Phelous are one of the cutest couples on YouTube especially in there gaming videos.

Not Sure that's entirely true especially the Witchcraft reviews as they were basically Soft Core pornography along with the Andy Sidaris movies (which I love with the tits guns and James Bond Plots)

"not a troon"

It's almost like even non-trans people can be ugly too!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I've even seen people say Britney Venti is attractive

I hope that Phelan isn't exposed as a huge faggot from all this. Despite his droning autistic voice, I actually kind of like his reviews (when he isn't reviewing the umpteenth unfunny cartoon ripoff of a popular animated film).
Ouch!!! Red light on the negativity express dude I've been a fan of all of phalous stuff wish he'd review more horror movies but at least he's not the SpoonyOne who's now at Tonkasaw levels of couldn't give a shit.

Phelous seems more in love with Egon from Ghostbusters than his gf

I never liked any of Allison's own stuff yet somehow she was one of my favorites on Brad's "Midnight Screenings". They had really natural chemistry and played off each other well. I can't stand the phony "THIS MOVIE MADE ME SO ANGRY!" tantrum shtick but watching people genuinely irritated after a movie trying to deconstruct why really hits the spot for me. Brad & Allison both didn't like "The House" and absolutely hated "Sisters". They get into how both films largely disregarded a script in favor of "line-o-rama" where they endlessly let actors inprov unfunny non-punchline humor.

That "line-o-rama" style didn't bother Allison too much here though. She tries to defend the movie politician-style while Brad starts off the review fairly neutral but looks noticeably more irritated as he recounts the movie's flaws. Here's some quotes from that review:

"Honestly, I thought it was great. I had a good time. I liked it a lot." - Allison
"I thought it was meh." - Brad

"At the end the ghost gets basically killed by being zapped in the balls." - Brad
"That was funny though to me. That they zapped him in the balls. I thought it was funny." - Allison

"I thought the ghosts some of them were genuinely creepy in it." - Allison
"They looked better than they did in the trailer." - Brad
"I liked the look of the ghosts a lot. I liked the big neon look but I like that some of them were creepy." - Allison

"Nothing in this movie creeped me out more than stuff in the first one." - Brad
"Yeah..I mean...it was that sort of feel. It felt a little more dangerous though because people actually died in this one." - Allison

"If you compare the two to be completely honest and I knew it was going to be this way...of course the original one." - Allison
"Yeah, the first one is better." - Brad
"But my feeling is why not both? Little taco girl. Why not both? Because I like both of them, I don't think they're equal by any stretch of the imagination. But I thought this one was fun. I would rewatch it." - Allison
"I wouldn't. I would recommend it as a rental because I laughed enough in it. It was a lot of space between when I did laugh in the movie." - Brad

"I loved seeing them kick ass. That was really important to me. I hate to sound like the like feminist like oh they're a bunch of girls and I like seeing girls doing this stuff but it really is important to me." - Allison

"It's really nice to have a reboot that goes in a different direction because their are lots of references but it follows it's own plot. It doesn't feel like it's just a rehash for the most part." - Allison
"To a point it does cause they really do follow a lot of the same act structure that the first movie did." - Brad
"I felt like it was different enough. It didn't feel like a rehash to me." - Allison
"It did to me. [Brad explains in detail how it roughly follows the same plot beat for beat]" - Brad

"I do love the idea that the villain is the logo which is funny to me." - Allison

"You know what I look forward to? Because I did like this movie. I look forward to them doing a sequel and other things and doing more of their own thing with it." - Allison

"Everyone's always going to think the originals better and that's fine but I think that this is worth opening up a new universe and a new opportunity and I think that this is really great for young girls to be able to have that kind of character to represent you." - Allison

"You know what I look forward to? When they make a sequel cause I think they will. I think it will do well enough to make a sequel." - Allison

"I liked that this was a really colorful movie. Like the costumes were colorful, the ghosts were colorful. I liked the look of the equipment." - Allison

"If you hated the trailers you'll probably hate the movie." - Allison
"I didn't like the trailers and I just kinda thought the movie was meh." - Brad
"The trailer was less than the movie. They let them down a little bit." - Allison
"Yeah. Honestly somebody should probably lose their job over those trailers." - Brad
"But, you know, comedy trailers are really hard to do though. You shouldn't represent the whole movie in a trailer anyways but they do it so often. But it's really hard to convey these things in little bite sized bits to say what this movie is but it definitely was not as good as the movie is." - Allison

She kind of looks like Alison Rapp ('member her?) in the OP pic, what with the septum ring and the eyebags.

Come to think of it, maybe she was in on the JewWario cover-up.

Cryin & tootin rn

She;s our new replacement Ali. Same name, same eyebags. Toot Princess mach 2.

It was like Channel Awesome saying we're still here, we're still growing, and we still have friends Merry Christmas.

Channel Awesome is dead and gay, but much less dead and gay than Lupa and co's future career prospects.

She did go topless for her Showgirls review, although it seemed less sexy and more desperate clickbait.

I always wondered why Lupa thought she would have tons of fans and backers. She covers obscure, niche content. Doug has a lot of fans because he covers mainstream, bad, nostalgic films most people would know. How many Z grade films can you name off the top of your head? I can’t think any.

She was okay in the Food Fight review Phelous and Brad did.

Phelous is pretty funny for the most part. His gag with the Old Man always makes me laugh for some reason.

Well, that would depend are we talking modern day grade Z films or something from the 90's-80's? 'Cause modern wise I could name a few, while 80-90's wise I can name plenty since during the 90's here in Eastern Europe we'd get a ton of VHS tapes full of Z-grade type trash.

As to whether or not she knew about the JewWario thing...she was at the MAGFest it happened at. Was she in the "LordKat did it & is a monster" camp?

Doubt it. I've listened to LordKaT's CA supercuts numerous times in the past. At one point he talks about Lupa being shitcanned from the site right after it's happened (you know, the whole "I was away from my computer for 15 minutes when the Fraud decided to kick me" story) and expresses a bit of sympathy for her, even though at this point they haven't been on the best of terms (likely due to some political disagreement for the most part). Had she been in that camp Jason most likely wouldn't have talked about her the same way.

For some more perspective, JW was let go in February 2013 (which of course took place after the incident), Allison in January 2015.

EDIT: Here it is, timestamped at 6:06:36.

I always felt she got bitter because her channel never really took off.
She was one of the bottom channels of CA, so she had to resort to drama to stay afloat.

I mean, would anyone even remember her without the ChangetheChannel autismfest?
She's doing everything she can to not fall into... obscurity.

That was why it was confusing to me that she could drop Brad so quickly. They did have a really good chemistry together as friends. Their review of Vampire's Kiss was on of the few of her Movie Nights that I enjoyed, and I wish that she had done more of them like that.

They both look that they're really having a good time talking about this like real friends. Knowing how Brad is, he's not the type to talk much about personal stuff like drama with friends unless it's important. I bet he feels like shit that he lost a friend over something so petty.

I don't recall looking at any of her stuff on CA, but I do remember one thing about her. The other contributors would have unique thumbnails for their videos, but for whatever reason she never did. It was always the same picture of her turning her head to grin at the camera.

I also recall some of the fanbase complaining that she wasn't very funny and that the only reason they had her on the site was to increase the number of female contributors.
