Out of everything they’ve done, I think adding the dove to the logo is neutral at worst.

My theory is most people don't want echo chambers. They love to troll others. They love to feel offended and virtue signal. Social media is just a bunch of internet posturing and you can't do it if everyone is on your side.

It's why Gab sucked. Everyone on that site wished they were on Twitter trolling. Mastodon sucks because there is no one for them to get offended by. People love yelling at others online because they can't do it in real life.

Sites that turn into echo chambers die. Take SomethingAwful and NeoGaf for instance. They craved searching out members that didn't support their ideology and calling for their ban. But once all those people left, they became boring. Even ResetEra threads only seem to get active when someone runs in and says the wrong thing.

People don't want echo chambers, want alot of content and are idealists with high expectations that will drop you if you fail to adhere to their extreme viewpoints on free expression.

Brennan at least had the latter and still basically failed. Torba doesn't is basically screwed as he has nothing.
