You know I thought it was kinda strange that torba was sperging out so much especially considering we all know he is grifting but it all makes sense when you consider that he is trying to fake his political leaning in order to make money. Because he doesn't actually believe any of this he goes too far trying to prove that he is one of the guys.

Whelp I was willing to give Gab the benefit of the doubt it had massive problems to be sure but as long as it remained committed to absolute freedom of speech and expression I was willing to put up with it and set up an account over their as a contingency in the event I got kicked of twitter. But this recent outburst and show of hypocrisy is unacceptable behavior. I will not be using Gab under any circumstances for the foreseeable future unless Torba either does some serious self reflection or he decides to hand the reigns over to someone more committed to free expression.

Also using the official account of your business for a petty twitter feud against Jeremy? Really nigga? That is like the number one way to destroy any sense of professionalism

Torba had a smug, masturbatory (lol) 12 minute long video just to say "unga bunga porn make child into coomer, me no able do nuffin, only gubmint". It's on Periscope, of course, because Gab Live was shut down. Archiving it because the fat dipshit deletes everything. I can't stand listening to him though.

Some major points from this:

  • Not giving your kid a computer or a smartphone doesn't work because other kids have those.
  • Alcohol and gambling is carded and nobody cares, but everyone loses their mind when somebody asks to be carded for watching porn.
  • Porn should be regulated by submitting your ID and a photo of yourself holding said ID
  • If you want absolute Internet privacy and don't want to get caught, you should buy porn with cash from a porn store in the next state, or better yet, ask somebody else to do it for you.
  • Gab banned porn back in June and nobody cared. In fact, most agreed with this decision, and almost a 100,000 users joined Gab. Seeing as it's Torba, it's probably just a whole bunch of bullcrap.
  • If you want to host porn, then you better learn to code, because the only way you can do that on Gab is by forking the code, which is dumb, because Gab constantly gives out errors due to bad coding, unlike, say, Pleroma, where most people can share porn anyways on any public instance already, but most instances enforce NSFW tagging for it. (including ours),

my favorite part of the video is when Torba tries to act smug and say, "I tell everyone to fork Gab but they dont do it" more or less. Which makes no sense since people like Dick and Null already made good forks of the Fedaverse long before he went on this autistic crusade

Not entirely correct. Dick's instance uses Mastodon's code with basically no changes whatsoever, from what I gather. Kiwifarms.cc uses Pleroma frontend, which is quite different. Technically Torba is right, but the problem isn't that nobody wants to use Gab because they're lazy, it's because its code is horrendous. If you want to fork Gab, you might as well just fork Mastodon, because it's less of a spaghetti-tangled mess.

This is peak Gab, and this error used to pop up basically every minute just some months ago rather than once every few minutes it does now.

There is a feminist federated site using Gab's code called Spinster. I thought it was a joke until I was getting blocked by people from there over a rape joke.
