I don't want to derail too hard, but it's hard to get mad about the Ricky Ray Rector case when you know the full details; he committed the crime when he was of completely sound mind, and he was only slow-in-the-mind because he tried to kill himself when the cops were closing in and fucked it up. It's not like Marvin Wilson or Robert Ladd.

I'm aware of how Rector's brain was sent to space. If he hadn't lobotomised himself, I would wholeheartedly support his execution. But that's not what happened, nor is it the point.

The reason why it was evil is because Rector didn't understand anything that was happening to him after his suicide attempt. He didn't understand the charges against him. He didn't understand his sentencing. He didn't understand that he was being executed even as the needle was pumped into his vein.

I support executions when the perp's deserve it. I'd support Nick Bate's execution if he were on Death Row. But if he tried killing himself while in prison via stabbing himself in the brain with a broken broom handle, missed, and wound up lobotomised, I'd then oppose his execution.

Turns out that Mike Pence did not refuse to pardon him, he refused to do so until all actual legal avenues to get the felony overturned are exhausted. He doesn't need a pardon from Pence he needs to ask for a post-conviction relief from the local courts where he was convicted and they will grant it to him. Which he hasn't done. Pence refused to give a pardon because it's not the normal way to do things and he said to reapply if they refuse for some reason

The mainstream media's willingness to go along with a man who truly dindu nuffin (either the crime or steps required to have his felony removed) in order to tar a man only trying to make America great again is exactly the kind of intellectually dishonest shit you'd expect from an anti-circumcision zealot

Trials and retrials are lengthy and expensive, and even the DNA evidence from the time that proved Cooper couldn't be the guy later fingerd Johlanis Ervin for the attempted murder. The state committed a horrible injustice, and with a single penstroke could undo a significant degree of the dsmage Cooper lives with to this day.

All a retrial would do is show that Pence is a selfish prick who'd rather waste tens of thousands of dollars of taxpayer money and who knows how many hours on the clock the state could spend on a meaningful case because he doesn't want to risk losing even small amounts of face to retarded rednecks who hate seeing niggers get pardon'd.
