Are there any video Games your looking forward to in 2025?

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
The Lunar and Suikoden re-releases - AS LONG AS they make it without being censored or butchered.

I haven't heard anything about either yet. I've heard Suikoden is supposed to be getting a "more faithful" translation.
I'm just hoping that means more accurate and not modern.

The Legacy of Kain remasters got their changes redone after there was outcry, so maybe there's hope?

Was potentially interested in Avowed but it looks to be bad just like KCD 2.

Atomfall looks interesting, so does Doom, and of course GTA 6. Not much else unless there’s some surprise game that gets stealth dropped.

Doom The Dark Ages and Ninja Gaiden 4 are day ones for me. Expedition 33 looks interesting and has a cute woman, so I’ll probably buy it. Lost Soul Aside looks really fun but it is a Chinese game, so it’s a bit of a coin flip on if it’ll be good. Tides of Annihilation doesn’t have a release date yet but it’s giving DMC vibes so that’s my type of game.

I am fairly consistent. While I play a ton of games. This is what I get hype for at the end of the day.

Probably the only thing I'm "hyped" for getting a full release within the next year is a first person character action game called VOIN

It's a pretty hectic and demanding brawler that uses a couple of Diablo-esque systems, like how it generates loot and how it does "Special" enemies with rare modifiers. Movement's very fun, combat's fucking fantastic, it has multiple types of difficulty you can change in the hub zone, and it's great just running around the explorable zones chopping up monster packs.

Also Doom: Dark Ages, because I'm interested to see changes to the formula. I remember Nu id Soft saying they'd run out of ideas for NuDoom and would need to drastically change things in order to want to make another one, so hopefully Dark Ages is gonna be a bit weird.

Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition.

I wanted to like the original so bad but being on the Wii U (yes, I owned one) made it a clunky miserable experience.

Now that part's getting fixed, the game will be portable(!!!), and that on top of QoL fixes and more content.

I imagine I'll probably get the rest of the Xenoblade Definitive collection at some point as well.

Looking forward to Witchfire and Tainted Grail leaving early access but since 1.0 patches for both are projected to drop near the end of the year, I'm doubtful that either will nail their window. Apart from that, I plan on pirating Rise of the Ronin once it releases on PC but I'm not jumping up and down in anticipation.

KCD2 sucked to me mainly due to its Combat and other aspects that just filtered the shit out of me, been hearing mixed things about Avowed, ive seen Postiive,Mixed, and Negative reviews from people on YouTube, maybe ill give it a download if i get desperate idk
so does Doom, and of course GTA 6
yeah Doom is going to be great, GTA 6 I don't really care about but might give it a good faith chance as I am enjoying Red Dead 2, the discourse surrounding GTA 6 is indicative of a major issue with the games industry in general, that developers are taking too long to make games

Pirate Yakuza surprised me by being more fun than I expected (admittedly, my expectations were pretty low). Other than that, mainly Xenoblade X Remastered, since I never got to play the original, and Gundam Seed Battle Destiny Remaster, since that never came Stateside. I've got a couple wishlisted games I'm keeping an eye on, but those will be "when I get to them". Getting through the backlog's a higher priority.

It’s the bad kind of eurojank where as Stalker is the good kind. I guess you can’t count CDPR as eurojank anymore.

It’s not terrible at all but it’s not great. It’s an action adventure game with slight RPG mechanics. I like the low fantasy setting tho. 18th century type shit is cool to see.
yeah Doom is going to be great
I’m mad that Glory kills are gone but I’m excited at the idea of slower gameplay and DoomGuy playing like a tank instead of a fighter jet like in Eternal. Makes the two games unique from each other.

I am. I love Rockstar type games tho. If it has the detail that Red Dead 2 has, it will be great.

Kyora, this is the type of game that should have been made at least 20 years ago. But it's better to be late than to be even later.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. That's if they don't delay the game again, they said it will be released in October. This game has been in developmental hell for 9 years now. I know its going to be something awful but I'm going to pirate the game and see for myself.

Stellar Blade coming to PC for one. I'm not a nigger so I don't own a PS5 and I've purposely avoided looking into it too much to go in blind, but I like a good hack&slash and I enjoy playing virtual dressup, fashion is a game's true end after all.

Mecha BREAK's full release. I played a bit of it during the open alpha & beta and had enough enjoyment of what I played, so I'm curious to see what they'll put out, especially if there's more PvE type combat/modes.

Subnautica 2. Subnautica 1 is one of my favourite games of all time, from the atmosphere and music, I find it an incredibly comfy and relaxing game that I come back to alot. Below Zero was very "eh" to me but for a side-game its passable. If Subnautica 2 is "the first game but more" I'd be satisfied enough.

Stray Children. The game is a spiritual successor to "Moon: Remix RPG Adventure", which is one of the most unique games I've played and a strong contender for one of my favourite games of all time. The game released in Japan at the end of last year, but is going to be localised and released in English sometime this year.

I have no idea of what to expect from this game, but if it's anything like Moon I imagine it will be a game of observation. In Moon, you need to collect " love" by either clearing environmental puzzles or by observing the strange cast of characters. It's not a game for everyone due to the large amount of dead air and some very cryptic puzzles, but the number of great moments you get from toughing out the weaker sections of the game more than redeem it in my eyes.

The developer (Onion Games) has had a solid track record up to this point and is comprised of staff who worked on Moon. Stray Children is their first stab at a real game, though their previous forays into arcadey titles have been good. I can especially vouch for "Million Onion Hotel", which is a frantic mobile puzzle game that has a surprising level of depth and strategy if you learn how to play.
