Kept doing some missions on Armored Core 3. First of, FUCK getting the hidden part from the escort mission. Tried it like 8 times till I gpt it. And since it's on the longer side and you immediately get the hunt the AC with a chipset mission, it took a long time to know I had fucked up.
It was liberating going full ammo instead of pew pew lasers for that one and since I'm filthy rich now I'll start using more solid shell stuff and not worrying about saving money.
On the arena fromt, the B rankers are starting to not just keel over and die to the shoulder mounted machine gun. That they all love to quick hop and hover doesn't help since the vertical axis of the controñs is something I haven't gotten particularly competent at, though the Parking stage does stop that being an issue and allowed me some cheeky wins. I am having a hard time with threads in there now and have a hard time keeping them on my sighst and off me, so will have to experiment.
Dumb question though, is there any trait that lets me know at a glance if a back weapon can onle be used on the move with threads/spider legs? I gather that anything that is lockon or rockets can be shot on the move by everything and the rest only on stable legs, but just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something obvious.
As for AC6, it will get a ton of press and sell a lot purely on it being a From game, not so sure it will capture the heart of the masses and even if it's awesome it won't be getting a game of the year. But I think enough people will like it to give the saga a new wind. I've only played 1 amd 3, but that style with a dual stick control and more elaborate melee options I'd be all for.
What will kill it's longetivity is that most of the time it's just menu, so it's pretty bad on the stream playing front. I guess some speed running and locked build challenge runs could be a thing but I highly doubt those would catch on like the souls versions. Multiplayer could be the other thing to keep it in the zeitgeist and I'd love arena battles vs humans, but I much rather they focus on single player to start.
