It's a downgrade from 4th gen in every way
tells me everything I need to know about you
having to constantly toggle Scan Mode is cancer
the main point of doing it was to get behind cover first then switch, so that you can have better energy regen, and if you use a recon unit, that you can see where the other fucker is to get ready. all the high-level shit where you see it being spammed is just that, people squeezing out every little bit of min-maxing possible. even 4th gen ended up being guilty of this min-maxing in some way (such as chainboosting and 2nd stage QB) but also oldgen (with the control oversight where you can maintain your speed if your strafe buttons are mapped to buttons as opposed to the stick or dpad)
you cannot seem to comprehend that it is going to indubitably feel like a worse game to play overall when you've had people become accustomed to 4th gen
how do you think oldgenners felt when picking up AC4 for the first time, especially with the sheer difference in its weight and inertia? same thing for 4th gen players coming into 5th gen, which I do agree with. the main point of what I said is not that people will feel skilless when they transition to a completely new gameplay style, but rather saying the game is bad because they either can't or don't want to adapt
In fact, far as I can tell, most people push 4A as the game for newcomers to really play and get involved with its online community over anything 5th gen
4th gen babies do that. actual AC fans will either point you to starting with AC3 or AC1 using emulators, telling you avoid the overpriced copies online as much as possible. hell, if you want a tip, you can literally play every single AC game without issues on a modded PS3, even a Slim one without PS2 support.
and a lot of people also don't really like how online dependent VD is for the bulk of its gameplay since... You know, it's a game that focuses more strongly on having an online aspect over the offline experience.
i can personally agree with you on this, since there was a LOT of content lost when AC5's servers were inevitably turned off. Type D No.5, Raijin and St. Elmo are just 3 bosses I can mention that are no longer fightable today. bit of a shame, but as far as I know in ACVD, the only bosses that are exclusive to online mode are 2 super versions of pre-existing bosses, Spirit of Motherwill, and Lady in Vortex. everything else you can fight is either a variant or just a repeat from shit you can fight in story mode. at most you'll be missing Conquest Mode and some base attack missions, but if ACVD ever got shut down you'd be basically only missing like 20% of the content as opposed to over half of the game's total content in AC5.
Literally most of the games before 4th gen did urban, close-quarters, tanky mech combat better even if it was purely due to design limitation
i haven't said the contrary, if anything what I meant is that 5th gen focuses more on it. and even beyond that, oldgen combat tends to be more focused on outpacing your opponent's FCS all while being able to fire back. i'm
sooooo sorry that spending 6000 hours in ACVD because I enjoy it is apparently not the same as the rest of the 8000 hours being spent across the rest of the series, you disingenuous 4th gen baby faggot.
