Bad/mediocre anime with good openings

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
Infinite Ryvius has been mostly forgotten, and I had zoned out from it before it even hit the midway point, so I'm not sure exactly how good it truly is without doing a rewatch (not any time soon). However, the opening slaps.

I love Ryvius, it is pretty good.

I really love the first opening of Gundam Age

Now for a really good music that I still would rather recommend the manga over it. This one is really great and inspired by a really unknown manga from the 70's called The Moon, it is mostly how you deal with imminent Death as children

I like to think Aquarion is what Eva looks like through the eyes of those who hate it with a white-hot passion.

Psycho Pass was as good as it can be for a series written by Gen Paedobuchi, meaning lower mediocre by normal standards. But I'd by lying if I said that this opening isn't one of my all time favourites.

Deadman Wonderland was an unholy Chernobyl disaster of a show, but the opening theme turns credge (cringe+edge) into art.
Besides being the same cringe-edge factor as Gantz, did this show ever have a plot.

Now, I've never watched SEL all the way through, so I have no idea if it's good or not. What I do know is that Null hates the fuck out of it, so I'm gonna use this an excuse to post its OP 'cause it's really quite good.

Lol didn't Null hate anime as a whole? Yet he's watched/watching enough of it to harbour specific distastes? Null sperging on SEL is something I'd definitely want to watch.

I have never seen SEL, but it carries a rather nostalgic feeling to me since I can remember when it came around. Ah, the memories.

So, anything of note from them?

When the protagonist holds that one guy, it's Ivan the Terrible holding the corpse of his son
i find it fucking hilarious

The Laughing Salesman isn’t bad if you like episodic psychological thrillers, but man did the reboot flop hard despite the awesome intro.

The King's Game anime intro somehow has a fire opening song, despite the show being a dumpster fire:
