I guess I'm pulling for New York and Toronto this time around, though Houston would be nice as well.

I really, really want to see Bartolo Colon come up with an RBI single in a postseason game.

Well, that was a good run. The Cubs were supposed to be around .500 this season and wound up with the third best record in baseball and beat the two teams ahead of them in the playoffs.

Looks like we're going to have a Mets/Royals World Series.

I was so glad to see the Cubs utterly swept in their own field. They don't even get a division title since they were the wildcard, so they have nothing to show for the season. The curse lives on.

Hopefully Missouri's back up team can win the series now.

They have beating the Cardinals in the NLDS to show, that's just as good as winning the World Series if you ask me.

Yea, well you can't hang that on a flagpole .

They regularly destroy them in regular season anyway, so it doesn't matter. They were also missing a lot of our better players by post season, or had them get injured in post season (Mollina). The fact they managed to clinch the division title at all with so many injuries this year was kind of amazing. It's pretty funny if you think the Cubs beating the Cards in one series is more satisfying than breaking their 100+ year long WS drought though. Pretty sure 99% of Cubs fans would disagree however, I watched the game and seeing their absolutely downtrodden expressions as they realized it was all over was priceless. It reminded me of Brazil's fans in the last World Cup game. Warms my heart to know St.Louis fans will never look that sad. Cards may have underperformed this postseason but at least we weren't cursed by a goat.

They never look that sad because they're retarded:

Also how funny is it that yesterday, the day when Marty McFly was going to arrive in Valley hill to discover the Cubs had won the World Series, turned out to be the day where they got swept out of the running for it.

Congrats to the Royals. It's been a surprise that they've gotten this far both times they've done it, and it's cool that they were able to go all the way this time. It's a great team, and their fan base deserves the win.

The even year is coming...

Congrats to the Royals. Dayton Moore did an excellent job putting together some great trades, drafted well, and signed some real steals on the international free agent market. They're built to be a very good team for the foreseeable future.

I really found myself without a villain this postseason too. Either the Mets or the Royals would have been fine, but I think KC's fans have suffered more since their last one, the Mets at least had some relevance here and there, and though they had disastrous collapses down the stretch a few times, they at least had high hopes to fall from..... the Royals were the AL version of the Pirates for a long long time, not even good enough to get into a position to choke. In light of both having success as of late (and the Cubs and Astros too, for good measure) that raises a question.

Who are the designated league sad-sacks now?

The Phils are probably on year 4 of what will be 5 bad seasons to finish shedding all that dead contract weight.... they might be the front runner.

I'd say Phillies, Devil Rays sans Friedman and Maddon, Padres (gutted their farm system for shit contracts), Mariners, and Brewers are all viable candidates.

I'd say the Mariners are the AL "winner", banking on paying a lot of money to an aged superstar in the hopes that he'll inspire everyone else to win... somehow.

My team tried that from 1995 - 2009

Didn't work so well.

It NEVER works.

At least when Pedro Alvarez would strike out with the bases loaded, you didn't hear cash registers going off as he walked back to the dugout.

I'd say Rays. At least for the other teams, you can go to the yard and have a good time. The Trop is the baseball equivalent of South Central.

I actually don't really watch baseball that often. But I'm from the region that the Royals are from (American Midwest) so the excitement over them winning the World Series is infectious and rad.

Congrats to the Royals! I felt slightly bad that the Giants beat you last year, so it's nice that you guys get to have your victory this year.
