Bayonetta 3 - What Moon themed song they gonna pick this time

VAs can honestly fuck themselves. They get paid big for reading a few lines, and they still have the audacity to complain. If I had any say about this, I say VAs should be paid LESS than the actual devs who made the game.
>Be a video game voice actor
>No physical work
>No moving from set to set
>Not even needing to leave country nor state sometimes not even your city
>Most demanding task is reading a few lines with a funny accent in a studio with AC
>The quality of the voice acting doesn't even need to be that good because video games have a long history of awful and mediocre voice acting so nobody is expecting anything
>Demand the pay of a lead role for a 300 million dollar AAA Hollywood movie
>Throw a hissy fit when the devs tell you that's not in the budget
>Blame and permanently mark a stain on a studio with an otherwise clean record like a petulant child because they didn't give you what you want

Total diva behavior, no wonder they are getting replaced by actual hollywood movie actors, if they're gonna demand the same salary with none of the name recognition then it makes no sense to go for the literal nobody lol

The thing that makes me laugh about the reaction to all this is the absolute hypocricy from modern gamers.

Just picture the absolute shit-show that would be happening if this kind of accusation was dropped on Blizzard or EA. But since it's a 'cool' studio that makes a lot of shitty games with half naked z-tier women, they obviously most be in the right. Gatekeeping works, and I can't wait til the industry kills itself.

As for the situation itself, bitch needs to give some numbers if she wants to be believed. I'm not gonna sit here and sneed about how VAing isn't a real job like some faggots here, but a game like Bayo, I can't imagine taking more than 3-5 sessions, maybe 5 hours each. Being as generous as possible, that's still about 25 hours. That's 160 USD an hour. If you're trying to pull those numbers, you fucking a better be a serious name. Not some 'literally who?' who did a single shitty off-british role and nothing else.

Japan just doesn't care about people screeching on social media.

Anyway, I'll still play this even if it's shit. Completionist. B2 was still doable despite it's intrepid manipulation of what it allowed you to do and it had some fun new toys

My problem with it was this. Honestly I want the first game's battle director as well as whoever did MGR assuming it's not the B2 dude and to have some Revengeance sequel done with that guy more than this slop.

I just wish videogame localization weren't a incestuous cartel of cow-worthy weebs all working together to keep their production budgets as high as possible so as to protect their jobs. This D-lister should be blackballed for retaliating against a company that gave her a break in the first place (success she parlayed into nothing), but I don't think it would affect her career anyway if anyone did. She's only one of those VAs who get called when an anime or game needs someone with an authentic sounding accent.

Thankfully I am seeing some sane people in here calling this bitch out. She is being unprofessional, plain and simple. If she was a good actress she would get her worth, either in this project or elsewhere. Deals going wrong is part of the job and she is just lashing out childishly and pointlessly since she will never be Bayonetta again even if she got her way. She will most likely never get another job even. Who will want to hire someone that will rally people to boycott you over the first disagreement?

Let's see what's on the list here....
>Only significant role was because game studio was starting out
>Very little outside said significant role
>Shafted for someone who is significantly better than her in terms of track record (Even more so since Jennifer Hale has worked with a Nintendo related/affiliated property before see Metroid Prime trilogy)
>Attempt a twitter campaign to force the company to cast you just before the game comes out
>Fuck all will happen overall for various reasons that are obvious.

What could possibly go wrong? :ghost:

Assuming that she is telling the truth. $4,000 is a ridiculously low amount and if I was in her shoes, I would be mad as well. That being said, I wouldn't throw a temper tantrum on twitter and try to undercut the other VA that's replacing me. It's one thing to let people know that the offer given to you was laughably low and it's another thing to try undercut the "new girl". It's ridiculously petty and retarded behavior. Just move on and look for other opportunities. I'm sure having a gig like being the voice of Bayonetta would fetch good VA opportunities somewhere.

So the OG actor pretty much just went nuclear on Twitter. Said the reason she's not back is because they didn't offer her enough money, is saying to boycott the game and also pretty much threw Hale under the bus.

$4000 could be a perfectly reasonable rate depending on the time investment.
$4000 is pretty shit, honestly, for a full game. Social media "influencers" get paid more for a TikTok ad, depending on their following.
If she's telling the truth, part of me thinks that they gave her a lowball offer as a means of getting her out so they could hire someone else.

I want english voice actors to come out and say what they think they're worth. It'll be interesting to see if it's above or below the averages for jobs like character modeler, programmer, 2D artists, etc. You know, the people who actually work on the games.
Union/insider voice actors, maybe. The thing is a closed club at this point.

See this woman?

This is Mary Elizabeth McGlynn and she's the reason why the English dub of Cowboy Bebop is so good.
And you wanna know why?
It's because she was an industry outsider. At the time Bebop came out, other studios had an idea of how anime "should" be dubbed and how the English voices "should" sound, but McGlynn directed it like she would have directed a live-action show, and it was all the better for it.

VAs tend to get constantly screwed over in terms of money save for a small handful. That same small handful are the ones the did Vic dirty and are in literally everything. And from what I can tell, Bayo’s VA isn’t constantly on Twitter, so it doesn’t seem like a “she’s just being greedy” kinda thing.

Seems more like a MGS:V Sutherland kinda thing where they wanted the bigger name. Just think about how much big name actors get paid to do voices in stuff.
