Biggest bullshit in a video game

what the fuck happened to cause Ikumi to leave the game studio?
I can't say for sure because I don't have direct contact, obviously, but when someone quotes that their work is "making them ill" at a developer it can be one of a few things. Unreasonable crunch periods and workplace harassment are two of the big ones, but her role as creative director coupled with the barebones or altogether missing news or updates about the game leads me to believe that Bethesda is ruining everything and not allowing her the space or creative freedom to make a product that she's proud of. All I know is that when a creative director leaves for any reason, there is a 100% chance they are replaced by someone less competent and who is unable to put the pieces together from what the previous employee left. I'm expecting to see delay announcements as we get closer to the scheduled release dates.

But one things stands out and it's the fucking lion men. After looking up what Iron Keep was I can say that area was no problem, I used it to farm souls because my club just destroyed knights. The fucking lion men though, I ran from them.
You did not play Scholar of the First Sin edition then. That area is a fucking bullshit mess because the devs added 10-15 more enemies and gave them larger aggro ranges and bows. 100% dogshit.

Wasn't she pregnant and had a kid right around that time as well?

If that's true then I wouldn't have risked the stress on her body and child either, it doesn't sound like Japan has a maternity leave system that allows for the more important fetal developmental stages.

This was posted on her twitter nine months after she left and a month after giving birth.

Not a specific game, but a design trend. I get why it's a good shortcut for developers, but I've had quite enough of the Anal Spawner. You're playing (insert FPS especially with any scifi or fantasy elements here) and you see a big room? Oh good. Time for waves of enemies. What's that NPC, you're telling me you sense something bad is going to happen? No shit. You're telling me to find a defensible position? What the fuck are you talking about? There *is* no defensible position. Enemies magically teleport into existence wherever the hell they feel like. The empty corridor behind me could easily poop out an alien with a shotgun who can pop me in the back of the head if I'm not constantly swiveling around looking at places that were safe two seconds ago.

Torches and pitchforks. Down with teleporting security guards.

Do people really have trouble with that minigame? I always thought it was a facecious meme answer for threads like this, like the Anor Londo archers.
I wouldn't say the trolley was particularly hard, but it was a little tricky figuring out Spyro's hitbox while dodging boxes due to the camera angle on certain parts of the track which would lead to annoying restarts.

As for the Anor Londo archers, I really hated how the knight guarding the broken window would sometimes just not switch to his sword when you got close, so if you didn't have a weapon that could kill fast enough or break poise, he was shooting your ass off the edge even if you blocked it.

How to deal with Anor Londo archers 101:
Step 1. Run up the slope, slow down as needed to regen stamina
Step 2. Run up to the archer blocking your path
Step 3a. If he pulls out his sword, parry his attack and roll into him. Either you will roll through or you will push him off
Step 3b. If he continues firing arrows, roll through, kick him angled away from the way, and roll into him. Either you will roll through or you will push him off
Step 4. Bonfire

The annoying thing about Greedfall on Extreme is getting one-shotted while doing dick damage in the tutorial where resources are scarce and stats are low. I get that De Sardet is a diplomat, but Extreme really highlights just how clunky and awkward the combat is. When the goal of the early game is to avoid combat until quest rewards level you up, it really makes the game not very interactive.

I blame Dark Souls for this attitude of git gud, enemies hit like a truck and you hit like a bug.

Never played Greedfall but I watched Skillup's review and he said only heavy armor is viable in endgame. Wearing light or medium sets gets you one or two shot.

That is true. But as I said, the early game doesn't have access to heavy armor or the attribute points to use them.

In Soul Calbur II's edgemaster mode (basically the campaign) there's a mission where you have to face 5 enemies in a row under a time limit. It starts at 30 and defeating an enemy gives you 15 seconds. The third enemy reads your controller to block and dodge your attacks. She mostly stays on the defensive so she's just a waste of time who turns what could have been a fun challenge into a frustrating experience. And she's the third enemy so everytime you fail, you need to beat the first two guys before you can try getting her again. Even with save states it's not fun.

Also, reading your controller isn't exclusive to this mission. The AI will frequently do it and call it "higher difficulty". The higher difficulty might also include the AI walking through attacks as if it had invincibility frames. I can understand a cheating AI if your objective is to yank coins out of people at the arcades but this is a console game.

Path of Radiance:

Re-recruiting Shinon in Path of Radiance: you have to talk to him with Rolfe (one of the worst units in the entire series and there's slim chance you're still using him at this point in the game) then kill him with Ike.
How the fuck are you supposed to piece that together without Nintendo Power or a guide?
To add insult to injury, Shinon being a much stronger unit than Rolf is a slap in the face. Training Rolf isn't a complete waste of time since bows are useful against fliers, and maybe you might want to use 2 snipers for some reason, but you took your bonus experience and gave it all to that goddamn kid so he wouldn't be under-leveled and could actually be used in battle, you bothered to train him... and then you recruit a guy that's just like him but better, his training came for free. It's like you're not even rewarded for going out of your way to train Rolf and you pretty much dump Rolf right away. And this is a series where the weaker units turns out to be powerhouses if you're patient with them.

Yakuza 6 but plot related, start of the game Kiryu spends couple of years in jail for some reason. Rather than have anyone employed to supervise over his orphanage, he lets a 16 year old raise the kids instead, where she promotly fucks off and has a mixed race baby.
Not only should Kiryu be loaded enough to pay someone to watch the orphanage, he has several women he can trust and owe him big time to watch the place.
He was in jail because of the events at the end of Yakuza 5

Scholar is basically the video game equivalent of George Lucas' special editions. Rather than actually fix things it just overcomplicates them entirely by throwing more enemies in and somehow making the already shitty hitboxes worse.

Why continue to have challenges for Big Team Battle if they know it doesn't work? And ties should count as wins.
